Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 62: Blackmail
Sage’s frown fell and she stared at him in disbelief.
’What is the matter with him?’ She grunted in frustration as she asked her thoughts. His words made her chest tighten, made her wonder if she truly carried him in her heart and why it bothered him whether she did or not. It wasn’t the first time he had said something like that, which meant that he was obviously bothered.
"You know what, I have lost my appetite." She grumbled and turned away.
Cyrus scoffed maintaining his sinister smile and grabbed her arm making her halt.
Sage closed her eyes letting out an exasperated sigh. "Let go of me."
"Eat. I won’t talk about about it again." He suddenly said, his voice calm. "I know you haven’t lost your appetite parrot,"
He let go of her arm, and she sat down right away.
Cyrus sat down, his gaze fixed on her, and his lips curved into a smile that brought out his dimples. "You haven’t cried in a while, parrot,"
Sage frowned deeply as she served her and Cyrus’ food. "Would you like me to cry?" She questioned angrily.
"No, I do not want to see your tears." Cyrus laughed. "However, I prefer a perfect frown on that gorgeous face of yours."
Sage’s movement came to a halt just as she was about to place sauced meat on Cyrus’ plate.
His emotions were highly unpredictable. When she entered the dining room and looked at him, he was grim and stiff, revealing that something was bothering him, but now he was smiling and happy at her.
She moved her gaze to him, clearing her throat, and asked, "Do you expect a thank you?"
"I expect a deeper frown." Cyrus teased and she smiled brightly, showing off her white teeth.
"This cute parrot has bunny teeth." He teased her and pinched her cheek.
Sage slapped his hand away and frowned once more. "Eat. I am not capable of finishing all of these all by myself." She told him and placed the meat on his plate.
Cyrus nodded and turned his attention to his food, while Sage was taken aback by how quickly he obeyed her. It gave her a fuzzy feeling, and she began eating.
Cyrus noticed that Sage was eating a little faster than usual. "Why are you in such a rush?" He inquired while putting a piece of meat in his mouth.
Sage paused staring at him mouthful, her emerald eyes glittering with excitement then she chewed hurriedly and swallowed.
"We have a lot to do today!"
Cyrus’ eyebrows rose up. "What?"
Sage smiled and shook her head. "Just eat and do not forget that you promised that you will do anything I say that would avoid me from crying." She remarked and reminded.
Cyrus’ expression immediately turned solemn. "Oh, the fun." His voice flat.
"Even though you act like that, you will still have fun." Sage told him and pouted. "What made you plan this trip anyways?" She asked curiously, caressing her chin.
"To keep you out of trouble for a while, because once we return, there will be no peace." Cyrus replied staring at his food dully.
"Understandable," Sage said, nodding. "But what were your plans once we arrived?" She asked, blinking rapidly.
A smile curved Cyrus’ lips as he rubbed a fork slowly against his lower lip. "The bath was one,"
Sage’s eyes almost bulged from their sockets. She rubbed her neck, hoping to feel the mark. This, Cyrus noticed. He made the mark appear, and when she felt it, her shoulders tensed.
"Are you serious?" She asked flusteredly, her face hot and slightly crimson as she moved her gaze to him to see him staring at her seductively with a fork in his mouth.
Cyrus tilted his head to the side and smiled, displaying his perfectly aligned teeth. "Eat," he hissed.
Sage ate her food quietly, feeling the strong sexual tension in the room, swallowed hard and closed her eyes, muttering prayers for self-control.
Cyrus, who was watching this, held back his laughter. His parrot was adorable, and she was slowly falling into his trap, just as he desired.
After the delicious brunch, Cyrus watched Sage eat the cheesecake, his lips slightly parted in awe. There was a lot on the table one minute, and nothing was there the next. Although it wasn’t very ladylike, she didn’t give a care, and Cyrus wasn’t even sure how to stop her.
Along with her jaw and cheeks, the side of her lips was covered in cake frosting and crumbs. Sage sighed contentedly and closed her eyes while reclining on the chair’s cushion. Even though she was stuffed, she was aware that she would soon regret eating the entire cake by herself.
"You are going to have a stomach ache." Cyrus told her, his words slow.
"I know.." Sage groaned lazily and opened her staring at him lovingly. "You can heal me." She added and pouted cutely.
Cyrus chewed his lower lip and shook his head. "Of course not." He refused. "You ate all that and you will bear the consequences." He pointed at her face.
Sage gasped and sat upright. "Do not point at me!" She snapped offended. "Remember I told you I have plans for us today." She groaned.
"I will take you to your room to rest; your plans can be carried out tomorrow." Cyrus told her calmly and stood up, reaching out his arm to her.
Sage stared at his outstretched hand before returning her gaze to his face, pouting.
"But... but... but... but you said you’d do anything." She stuttered, her eyes welling up with tears and her lips quivering.
Cyrus’ brows arched in surprise. ’Is she really going to cry because of this?’
Tears blurred her vision, and he could see them threatening to spill out of her eyes.
"Really?" Cyrus asked, perplexed.
"You said you’d do anything. Will you break your promise?" She asked whimperingly, then burst out wailing.
Cyrus sighed deeply, moved closer to her, grabbed her chin, and pressed his lips against hers. He sucked her lips that had icing on them and licked them slowly.
Sage’s eyes widened in shock as he rendered her breathless.
"Fine, I will give in to your blackmail," he grumbled as he drew away, staring into her tear-filled eyes.
