Married To The Dragon Prince Against My Will-Chapter 273: GET ME PREGNANT
The chamber was hushed, lit only by the low, amber glow of a single brazier in the corner. Shadows danced lazily across the carved bedposts and the heavy silk hangings that draped the walls like midnight veils.
Ashen lay on his back in the center of the wide bed, one arm flung above his head, the other resting across his bare chest.
The sheet had slipped low on his hips during sleep, revealing the hard planes of his abdomen and the faint scars that mapped his warrior’s body marks from training, from battles he never spoke of, from the dragon blood that still simmered beneath his skin even in repose.
His hair spilled across the pillow, lips slightly parted, breaths deep and even. For once, the tension that usually carved lines around his eyes and mouth had smoothed away. He looked younger and almost vulnerable.
Lumina stood at the foot of the bed, watching him.
She had shed her outer robe earlier, leaving only the thin, moon-white chemise that clung to her like mist.
The fabric was so fine it whispered with every breath she took. Slowly, deliberately, she reached for the ties at her shoulders.
Her fingers worked the knots with practiced grace, no hurry, only quiet intent. One cord loosened, then the other.
The chemise slid down her arms in a soft cascade, pooling at her elbows before she let it fall entirely to the floor.
Cool air kissed her bare skin, raising faint gooseflesh along her arms and across the gentle swell of her breasts. She stepped out of the discarded silk, naked. Then she moved closer, bare feet silent on the thick carpet.
The mattress dipped as she placed one knee beside his hip, then the other, straddling his thighs without quite touching him.
Her long hair fell forward, brushing his chest like cool silk. She leaned down, palms braced on either side of his shoulders, letting the ends of her hair trail across his skin in slow, deliberate sweeps.
Her breath ghosted over the hollow of his throat, then lower, following the line of his collarbone.
She did not kiss him yet only breathed, warm and teasing, letting the heat of her body hover just above his.
Then Ashen stirred followed by a low sound that rumbled in his chest, a half groan. His lashes fluttered. One hand lifted instinctively, fingers finding the curve of her waist and curling there, possessive even in half-sleep. His eyes opened slowly, amber slits catching the firelight.
"My queen" His voice was rough with sleep, thick with something darker. He blinked once, registering her nudity, the way she arched above him like moonlight made flesh. His grip tightened. "What are you..."
She lowered herself just enough that her breasts brushed his chest, skin on skin, warm and electric. She tilted her head, lips hovering near his ear.
"Wake up properly," she whispered, voice low and velvet-soft. "I want you."
His breath hitched at once as his free hand rose to cup the back of her neck, thumb tracing the edge of her blindfold.
He pulled her down, claiming her mouth in a slow, drugging kiss deep, unhurried, tasting of sleep and lingering smoke. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
She melted into it, hips rolling in a subtle, sensual rhythm against his growing hardness beneath the sheet. A soft sound escaped her throat, swallowed by his lips.
He broke the kiss only to trail his mouth down her throat, teeth grazing her pulse. "You are playing with fire, wife."
"Then burn with me," she murmured.
She shifted, guiding his hand to her breast. He obliged, thumb circling the peak until it tightened under his touch. She arched into his palm, breath catching.
Her fingers slipped beneath the sheet, finding him, stroking once, twice slow, watching the way his jaw clenched and his eyes darkened to molten gold.
"Get me pregnant," she breathed against his lips and Ashen froze at once.
Every muscle in his body locked. His hand stilled on her breast. For a heartbeat, the only sound was their shared breathing.
Then he moved swiftly, decisively. He sat up, lifting her off his lap at once and setting her beside him on the bed.
Before she could protest, he snatched the fallen sheet and wrapped it around her shoulders, covering her nakedness with almost rough care. His hands lingered on the fabric, holding it closed over her chest.
"No."Lumina’s head snapped up. "Why?"
He met her gaze steadily. "Don’t forget our agreement."
Her lips parted in disbelief. "But I would protect the child. With everything I have. No one would touch them. I swear it on my blood."
Ashen shook his head, jaw tight. "No."
She flared in anger at once hot and sudden. She shoved the sheet aside, letting it pool around her waist, baring herself again.
"All your brothers will soon have heirs. Adam already parades his line like trophies. Alexis will follow. Why can’t you have one? Why can’t we?"
"I don’t care about their heirs." His voice was low, final. "I don’t care about the succession games."
"You have to care now." She rose onto her knees, hands framing his face, forcing him to look at her even though she could not see his expression.
"You need to take the throne, Ashen. The realm is fracturing. Your father is dying, weakened. If you do not claim it, Alexis will, and his wife might twist it into something cruel. Or Adam will sell it to the highest bidder. You are the only one strong enough. You are the only one worthy."
"I am not after the throne." He caught her wrists gently but firmly, pulling her hands from his face. "I never was."
Lumina’s breath shuddered. She leaned in, pressing her forehead to his, pleading whispers. "Please..."
He exhaled through his nose, a sound of pure frustration. "Cover yourself." He tugged the sheet back up around her shoulders, tucking it closed with deliberate care. "I am not in the mood." Then he stood.
He pulled on a loose tunic from the nearby chair, not bothering with laces, and strode toward the door.
His shoulders were rigid, his steps measured, as though he were forcing himself not to look back as he left.
Lumina remained kneeling on the bed, sheet clutched to her chest, hair tangled around her shoulders.
The brazier crackled softly as shesat there for a long moment, breathing shallowly.
A single tear slipped from beneath the blindfold, tracing a slow path down her cheek before it fell onto the silk pooled in her lap.
She did not wipe it away.
