Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 769: Ronan’s Secret Decision
Arielle arrived at the dining hall with Lucas. Ronan and several palace officials were also there. Prince Khaled sat alone who looks quite comfortable in Northnedell’s typical clothes but still wearing the same turban as yesterday.
Everyone stood up without exception to greet Arielle. They bowed except for Ronan who just stood up when Arielle approached.
"You look sad. Something happened?" asked Ronan whispering in Arielle’s ear and led his wife to sit beside him.
"About Tania but we’ll talk about this some other time."
"Ah... I see."
Ronan seemed to know what was going on. If it’s about Tania, it’s likely that Tania has spoken to Arielle and said she wants to return home to Nieverdell. Ronan had anticipated this day. He thought his wife would burst into tears but it wasn’t that much. Arielle could control her emotions better.
Ronan had wanted to say this to Arielle for a long time but his promise to Tania kept him silent. He had promised not to worry Arielle. Tania also wanted to convey her own wishes directly to Arielle.
"Today quite a lot of people have joined us," whispered Arielle after greeting several royal officials who rarely joined to eat together. Usually it was Ronan who didn’t want them to join.
"There isn’t anything. I just felt like being kind today."
Arielle looked at her husband suspiciously but with Ronan wearing a mask, it was a little difficult for Arielle to judge the man’s expression. Arielle looked around her once again. William, Kael as well as Lazarus were present. Priest Elis is also there talking to prince Khaled regarding Priest Khan.
Looks like all the decisions have been made. There were several faces showing dissatisfaction but they couldn’t express what was on their mind. The meeting had finished a few minutes ago. When Ronan had made up his mind they could no longer say anything. Their chance to change the king’s decision was closed with Ronan inviting them to have breakfast together.
And having breakfast with Ronan is the most awkward thing they’ve ever done.
Arielle tried to break the ice by asking some personal questions to some of the royal officials there. They are all regional leaders on the border. She didn’t know what Ronan was thinking by inviting them all. Arielle would know after the most awkward breakfast was over.
"I will send my message to Princess Zohra so that Princess Zohra immediately mobilizes her troops to pick up Queen Arielle. And I’m guaranteeing that I’ll be back to accompany Queen Arielle, if you please."
"You can do it. The decision has been made. We’ll see each other in two weeks in Thebis for Princess Zohra’s party. I will escort you to the harbor and join the land group to enter Thebis through the frontier with some gifts. For more details, you can talk to WIlliam. Because William will accompany my wife."
Prince Khaled nodded in understanding.
Arielle watched her husband one more time before continuing with breakfast. After breakfast was over, Prince Khaled asked permission to return to Thebis so they would not waste time because traveling by sea would take three times longer than by land.
Ronan and William themselves had a brief meeting and Arielle visited dragon eggs that never indicated they might hatch. She saw the red circle on her wrist indicating the bond she made with Maxieno.
If she doesn’t succeed in incubating the three eggs then the curse and the responsibility will be passed on to her descendants.
After spending three hours with her powers and ending up with nothing, Arielle left the room where she kept the dragon eggs. The woman was surprised to find her husband already standing in front of the stone-lined steel door to overcome the searing heat from inside the room.
Ronan, are you here? asked Arielle.
"Yeah, I have an hour to rest."
"Want to sit in the garden?" asked Arielle holding out her hand.
"Of course."
Arielle and Ronan then left Whitethorn’s palace and went to Arielle’s rabbit cage. Arielle let the bunnies jump freely. She picked up Riel who was already very big and then placed it on her lap as she sat on the park bench.
"Sorry if Tania had to leave you and I didn’t tell you first."
Arielle fell silent. She was sad because she had to part with the woman who had always accompanied her since childhood.
"It’s okay, I was just a little surprised."
"Tania made me promise. The old lady asked me to let her tell you herself."
"I can understand," Arielle replied.
Riel jumped away from Arielle’s empty lap. Ronan held Arielle’s hand for a moment. The white snow before them piled up every day. The atmosphere there was very cold and from the start Tania did not fit in such a very cold place.
"Since the beginning, Tania always asked me to go back to Nieverdelll before knowing what happened. Tania always wanted to go home because she wanted to wait for a letter from Jonathan. She thought if they went back to Northendell maybe Jonathan would send her a letter. Tania doesn’t know Jonathan already had a family and keeps hoping even though it’s been years since Jonathan stopped sending letters.
"Tania has been taking care of me for a long time. I want her to rest. Here I always force her not to work and maybe with Tania returning to Nieverdell with Jonathan, Tania can enjoy her life more and spend her days more relaxed in a warm place."
Ronan nodded.
"Tania no longer needs a lot of mana crystals to warm her frozen knees," said Ronan making Arielle laugh.
It was one of them. Tania no longer needed to complain about her frozen joints.
Arielle rested her head on Ronan’s shoulder. Seeing how magnificent the Blackthorn castle building was in front of them. In that big place there are still many empty rooms that have never been touched. Perhaps all the empty rooms in the palace in both Whitethorn castle and Blackthorn castle could accommodate all the citizens in the capital.
"Oh Ronan. I almost forgot something. Why did you suddenly summon the lords from the border region?" asked Arielle confused. "I don’t think they would have anything to do with our affairs in Thebis, would they?" continued Arielle.
"They really have nothing to do with Thebis. But the border conflict has recently become increasingly difficult to control. Some bandits started destroying the trade route I had made. In addition, King Al-Nasser is seen starting to meet King Peter from Wolgast. The man also sent one of his men to spy on Nieverdell. And I got a report from Archie, one of Thebis spies has been caught in Nieverdell. I’m just worried that this might lead to something else going to war."
Arielle straightened her body worriedly.
"War? Ronan, will your trip to Thebis be all right?"
"I’ve thought of all the possibilities. Al-Nasser certainly would not leave this opportunity to harm me. Prince khaled has also informed me of this. Therefore I still can’t trust Thebis completely. I’ll send you with William. Kael is guarding at the palace and I will use the same tactics as I did at Nieverdell."
Arielle frowned in confusion.
"What tactic?" Ronan just chuckled.
"You just need to know what will happen later," Ronan replied, poking his wife’s nose.
