Chapter 537: A Drop Of Elixir For Ronan

The door of the room opened violently, making everyone in the room shocked. Arielle reflexively hugged Ronan’s body. She looked back and found Maxieno glaring at her sharply with his red hair fluttering. The man looked very mad.

"Maxieno..."

Maxieno walked over to see Ronan’s condition.

"Is he still alive or dead?" he asked coldly.

Kael, William, and Lazarus approached them while holding out their swords. They were ready to attack if Maxieno dared touching their friend.

Arielle raised her hand. "Maxieno won’t hurt Ronan. He is a good person," she said, making Maxieno click his tongue.

William, Kael, and Lazarus threw their faces to the side to hold back the tears that gathered in their eyes because they could finally see Arielle again.

"Maxieno, I need your help again. Can I?"

"You’re asking too much when you haven’t fulfilled your promise—"

"I know! Can I have just one drop of the Elixir of immortality you have?"

Maxieno glared at Arielle, then folded his arms in his chest arrogantly. "What for? To save this human? Tch, I don’t want to."

"Maxieno, I beg you..."

"You already knew that I sacrificed too much for your sake, human. You should know your place. Now return Xavier’s head so I can give it to Abigail."

Arielle held Maxieno’s hand. Her eyes gleamed with determination. "I’ll give Xavier’s head in exchange for just one drop of elixir."

Maxieno laughed out loud then snapped Arielle’s hand away. "The deal was that I brought you here in exchange for Xavier’s head. I’m not familiar with your concept of exchange. You humans are really selfish and greedy."

Arielle gritted her teeth then took off the necklace hanging around her neck. "This!"

Maxieno’s eyes lit up at the sight. "Princess Cecil and Amadea gave it to me. This is the key to Birwick Mountain. I plan to return Birwick Mountain to this world again."

Suddenly, Maxieno snatched the necklace from Arielle’s hand. "You!"

"Maxieno..."

Maxieno breathed a sigh of relief. He cleared his throat.

"I did this because I had considered you quite special. But, no matter how special you are, you are still human. I’m going to take this thing because you don’t deserve to keep something as sacred as this. I will return Birwick whenever I want. I don’t want my forest to freeze with you, humans," Maxieno said as he reached into his robe pocket and took out a small glass bottle and threw it at Arielle.

Arielle accepted it quickly. She was afraid it would fall to the floor. She then dripped the last drop of the Elixir immortality on Ronan. Instantly, every wound and red color on his skin healed and returned to normal.

The man’s heavy breathing became calmer and lighter.

Arielle sighed in relief after seeing Ronan’s condition slowly getting better. Then, Maxieno cleared his throat to remind Arielle of her promise again. After putting Arielle’s necklace that he had stolen just now in his pocket, Maxieno wanted to return to Birwick Mountain right away. He did not have much time to see a pair of lovers who missed each other after not meeting for a long time.

Arielle kissed her husband’s forehead briefly and turned around.

"I’ll take you," she said.

Arielle turned around and saw many people who looked restless, waiting for the princess to greet them. Her eyes started to fill with tears. It had been a long time since she had seen them. William’s eye bags looked darker. Did the man not sleep? Arielle then gave them a faint smile.

Aimee went first. With a face full of tears, the girl stretched her arms to hug Arielle tightly. Arielle started to cry when Aimee was crying. One by one, she greeted her friends who had been waiting for her return, starting from William, Kael, Lazarus, Lucas, Priest Elis to several rabbits that were jumping happily around the treatment room.

"Your Highness, where have you been?" Aimee asked, still brimming with tears. She also didn’t want to take her hands off Arielle’s body yet.

The palace’s atmosphere had been very dark, gloomy, and cold for the past month without the princess’ condition. Aimee was very worried about Arielle’s condition. The last time she saw Arielle was when the princess made a miracle in Birwick Village.

After successfully bringing back several people in Birwick Village to life, the princess disappeared so suddenly and Ronan never opened his mouth about where Arielle had gone.

All they knew was that Arielle was in a safe place. Aimee was really worried. Seeing the palace that continued to lose its light every single day made Aimee restless. Besides, the condition of the king was getting worse. It was hard to approach Ronan. Aimee felt resigned to the condition.

Arielle hugged them one by one. Aimee offered to clean Arielle’s body because the girl was wearing tattered and very thin clothes. She was speechless after seeing the princess’s beautiful hair was now only shoulder-length.

"Your Highness... what happened to your hair?"

Arielle held her hair and smiled so Aimee wouldn’t worry too much about it. "Long hair interferes with my activities a bit, that’s why I chose to cut it short," she said, leaving details about her hair, which were almost completely burned by the flames from Maxieno.

Oh! Speaking of Maxieno, Arielle almost forgot about him. She looked back and found the dragon was staring intently at her. No, the man was glaring at her.

"Ah, Kael, William, and Lazarus, I request permission to retrieve the dragon head trophy in the hall."

"The dragon head? For what, princess?" he asked.

Arielle touched William’s hand and pulled him to follow her to the hall quickly.

"I’ll explain it to you later, but I need it now." Arielle turned around and called Maxieno to come with her.

The corner of Maxieno’s eyes twitched. He separated himself from William and Arielle, then walked in the front.

"Humans must walk behind dragons," he said confidently.

"Sorry," replied Arielle, who didn’t want to irritate Maxieno any further. She followed behind Maxieno. Kael, William, and Lazarus also came with her in the back. Arielle smiled when she saw Priest Elis and Lucas standing by the door. She would probably visit Priest Elis later after her business with Maxieno was over.
