Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 268: You Didn’t Forget Your Promise, Did You?
Arielle looked around the room to guess where she was. She couldn’t remember what had happened after Andrea stopped them in the middle of the forest.
Arielle fainted on top of the horse because she was too tired. Archie said that he would bring them to the hospital, right?
"Where are we? A hospital?" asked Arielle in confusion. Ronan kissed her neck and bit it a little because she ignored what he said earlier. She quickly covered Ronan’s mouth with her index finger.
"At a doctor’s house. Wherever we are, as long as you’re with me, I don’t really care," he replied in an annoyed voice. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Where is Sasha?" asked Arielle once again.
Ronan got up and opened the curtain to the right of the girl and revealed Sasha, who laid down on the bed with her whole body bandaged. Ronan sat back in the same position while hugging Arielle. He could feel her breath of relief.
"I don’t think Sasha can return to the North in this condition."
Ronan tightened his embrace and nodded. Arielle hugged back the man’s neck no less tightly.
"But you should return to the North soon, right?" Ronna replied to Arielle’s question with another nod.
"I... want to go home with Sasha."
"I know you would say that. Kael and Lucas will go with you," the man replied curtly.
"Thank you for understanding me, Ronan."
Ronan nodded again. He knew he could never force his will on Arielle. He thought he could be more assertive by forcing Arielle to come home with him and leave Sasha for treatment before the boy was escorted back to his home with John or anyone else.
Or ....
"I’ll be here until you two are ready to return to the North," said Ronan seriously.
Arielle shook her head quickly. She pushed the man’s body and squeezed his shoulder with both hands.
"What are you talking about? A king is needed to increase the morale of his soldiers. And I don’t want any more people to get hurt if you linger here. I still have the status of Princess Nieverdell, and Big Brother Archie will be there to protect me. I’ll be fine now."
"Arielle, the last time you said that you were fine, you sprained your legs like this," said Ronan, trying to negotiate with her.
"This is the result of my carelessness. You said yourself that Kael and Lucas would take care of me, didn’t you? Isn’t Lord Kael strong? And Lucas has helped me in a lot of ways."
Ronan furrowed his brow disapprovingly.
"Lucas has helped you more than I did? You mean I’m not helping anything at all?"
Arielle chuckled softly and kissed his lips. "It’s not like that, Ronan. Everyone has their own duties and you are a king."
"And you are my future queen. And before that, you were my lover. It’s only natural that I always want to be near you, right?" asked Ronan with a frown.
"Huh? Are you pouting?" Arielle’s teasing made Ronan let out a long sigh. She poked the man’s cheek with her index finger, and in an instant, the annoyance he felt earlier disappeared without a trace.
"If we were in my room, I’ll make you regret teasing me," he muttered, making Arielle chuckle.
Ronan looked at Arielle lovingly. Only with Arielle could he be this calm. His lips smiled softly as he reached out his hand and gently pulled her face closer.
For the sake of Arielle, he even dared to burn and destroy the palace, the center of an empire. Only for her, his beloved future queen.
"I love you so much," he said.
Ronan planted a kiss on Arielle’s lips.
Arielle pulled her face away when she heard someone knock on the door. Ronan gently stroked Arielle’s lips to erase the trace of saliva because of their kiss.
"Once your leg and Sasha’s wound heal, you must head back to the North," he said.
"Hmm! I’ll be home soon."
Ronan pressed his forehead against Arielle’s and gave her a peck on her nose, then straightened his back. "You didn’t forget your promise, did you?"
The man stood up with a wide smile, giving his little finger to do a pinky promise.
"My promise?" When Arielle asked what the promise meant, Ronan was grinning mischievously and tying her little finger with his.
"I will go and wait for you in the North." He bent over and lightly kissed Arielle’s bandaged legs.
Arielle just nodded and then waved her hand when Ronan left the room. She thought about what kind of promise she had made to the man. When they were together at the lake, she remembered that she made a promise to come home after everything had settled up. That’s all...
She tried to recall their talk, but in the end, she couldn’t remember it.
After Arielle had met Ronan, she couldn’t fall asleep even though the moon had been at the highest peak of the sky. Johan repeatedly came into the room to ask Arielle’s condition or what she needed, but she politely declined it.
Her eyes were fixed on Sasha who was lying unconscious. Just a few days ago they were still laughing jokingly and their situation was flipped over in one night.
Arielle would never forget the incident earlier, how her father kicked the small and fragile innocent child until he rolled down the stairs. Fortunately, Sasha survived and could still be saved. Arielle couldn’t imagine if she lost her little friend due to her negligence.
Ah! Arielle remembered something! She opened her palm and no burn marks could be found. Even though the two sleeves of her dress had a trace of burn marks, the skin on her palms was fine.
She remembered that she held the metal that had melted due to the fire. Strangely, she didn’t feel the heat at all and she wasn’t hurt in the slightest.
She saw a candle that almost melted on the nightstand near the glass. Her left hand reached out slowly, and with a nervous feeling, she tried to touch the tip of the living flame.
"Princess!" cried Tania, who suddenly barged into the room. Startled by Tania’s action, Arielle almost overturned the glass that was still filled with water.
"Ta-Tania," Arielle stuttered.
The old lady strode with limp steps and hugged Arielle gently.
