Chapter 267: I Wanna Be Like This Forever

Ronan and Kael were riding their horses to the doctor’s house that Archie had told them. Coincidentally, Johan just came out to patrol around the house. Seeing his king’s arrival, Johan bowed his head in respect but Ronan ignored Johan.

"Is Arielle here?"

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Ronan entered the house, leaving Johan and Kael behind. Kael was patrolling in front of the house while Johan was informing the doctor that there were some people who came to visit Princess Arielle and Sasha.

Johan didn’t tell the doctor about Ronan’s identity, but the doctor has had suspicions that the one who came into his house wasn’t an ordinary man. The aura around the man was quite intense as his sharp gaze gave the doctor a cold sweat. Ronan walked in without giving much attention about the doctor, so he couldn’t see Ronan’s face clearly.

"Should I prepare tea for him?" asked the doctor to Johan.

"No need, Your Majesty- I mean, that man only come to check on Princess Arielle and Sasha’s condition as stated by Prince Archie earlier."

"Oh, Alright. Then, I’ll be in my room if you need anything and you can ask my wife to prepare a meal if you want."

"Thank you," replied Johan. Then he closed the door to Arielle’s room.

It was awkward for Johan to be in the same room with Ronan. So, he decided to stand on guard on the outside, giving his king a room and chance to rest if necessary.

Ronan took a closer look and held Arielle’s hand tightly. He caressed her delicate cheek as he brushed off the dust from it. He also tidied up her hair, so he could see her face clearly. Then, he bent over and kissed her forehead.

"Arielle," Ronan uttered her name lovingly.

His lips grazed on the tip of her nose, moving to her cheek and he pressed it on Arielle’s luscious lips longer.

"I’m here, Arielle," he said.

Ronan straightened his back and once again observed his future wife with a longing gaze. Arielle’s eyebrows twitched slightly and Ronan couldn’t help but held his breath, hoping that there would be a miracle for Arielle to wake up soon.

"Ronan..." Arielle muttered in her sleep in a low voice.

"Yes, I’m here," he replied hurriedly.

Ronan touched and stroke Arielle’s face anxiously, hoping that she could recognize him straight away. He had been holding back since the girl came to the palace with Lazarus. He was deeply worried about her.

After the night in the lake, even when he closed his eyes, Ronan could never get rid of Arielle from his mind. Everyday, he always waited for the news about her from his spies. When they were in the night crowd of Nieverdell square too, it was hard for him to refrain himself for showing in front of her, all because he didn’t want Arielle to get into unnecessary trouble just because of him.

Now everything was done and went as planned. It’s time for Arielle to come back to the North with him as the girl had promised.

Ronan’s heart was pounding crazily when Arielle opened her eyes. The girl blinked slowly to adjust her blurry vision because of the bright light that entered her eyes. Her head was spinning as she felt hert stomach ache. However, even though she was still disoriented, she could feel a warm hand that carressed her cheek.

Still in semi-conscious state, Arielle reached for the hand that touched her. The hand was large and rough, but giving her a sense of comfort. She recognised this touch. She blinked once more and then she could see the man she had longed to meet.

Ronan had transformed back into his human form. Arielle could see that his skin was wet with sweat from the unbuttoned shirt on the top.

"Are you okay, Arielle?" asked Ronan in a worried tone.

Arielle smiled then nodded. She didn’t know what had happened to her, but she was too tired to just open her mouth.

Suddenly, a large and warm body hugged her tightly.

"I’m worried about you, Arielle. Deeply worried," Ronan said.

Arielle put her arms around Ronan’s back to hug him back. She patted the man’s broad and firm back, giving him assurance that she was fine.

"I couldn’t forgive myself for letting you to get hurt like this."

"I’m fine, Ronan," Arielle replied softly. Her voice sounded hoarse, but she forced herself to speak because she didn’t want Ronan to blame himself.

Ronan didn’t know what to say. He let Arielle stroked his hair. One by one, the chaos in his heart began to subside. His clenched jaws slowly relaxed. Ronan closed his eyes as peacefullness hovered in his heart when Arielle gave him a kiss on his temple.

"Ronan, I need to wake up for a moment," said Arielle. However, Ronan was too lazy to get up because being in her embrace was too comfortable. At this point, he didn’t want to let her go.

"I want to drink, Ronan," said Arielle once again. Her hoarse voice made Ronan get up unwillingly. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

He looked around the room and found nothing for her to drink.

"Wait here a minute. I’ll get it for you."

After helping Arielle to sit while resting her head on the headboard, Ronan walked towards the door and asked Johan to bring him water. The man moved quickly and brought a full glass of water. Before Johan had time to ask about the princess’ condition, Ronan had closed the door again, making Johan click his tongue.

"Here, drink slowly."

Ronan helped Arielle drink by holding the glass for her. She breathed a sigh of relief after her dried throat felt fresh.

"You are done?" asked Ronan while frowninng because Arielle only drank half of the water.

"Hm... that’s enough."

Ronan put the glass on the nearest table. Then, he wrapped his arms around Arielle’s waist and buried his face in the nook of her neck. Arielle chuckled softly as she hugged him back.

"I want to be like this forever."
