Chapter 265: At The Doctor’s Home

Archie brought Sasha and Arielle to one of the doctors he knew well. The hospital was at the far end of the capital and he had little time to get through the crowds of the citizens to get there or to take a detour. Thankfully, the house of the royal physician was near that area.

Archie knocked on the door loudly, hoping that the owner would hear it. Seeing Archie with a bloody little boy and some strangers in front of his house, the doctor was quite startled.

However, he showed his professionalism and ordered his children to prepare the bed and his medical equipment immediately. Arielle, who was found fainted on the road, was laid on the bed as well as Sasha.

An old lady, who was the doctor’s wife, approached Arielle to check on the girl’s condition. Meanwhile, the doctor checked Sasha’s condition straight away because just from seeing the little boy; he knew that Sasha’s condition was much worse.

Archie and Lucas waited for the result of the examination anxiously.

"Judging from Princess Arielle’s swollen legs, it looks like both of her legs are sprained. On her forehead, there are some bruises due to being hit by a hard object, then a wound on her head that had dried up."

"Her head is wounded, too?" asked Johan worriedly as he came closer to check it. Archie recognized that wound.

"It was Andrea who did that," Archie said in response to Lucas’ curiosity.

"What did Princess Andrea do to make Princess Arielle hurt her like this?"

"On the day Arielle came back, Andrea was annoyed with her, so she bullied Arielle as usual. Arielle probably couldn’t stand it anymore, thus she bit Andrea’s hand and... Andrea hit Arielle with the tip of her fan until Arielle’s head bleed."

Johan’s mouth was hanging open because he was shocked.

"The wound had been treated well and healed," the doctor’s wife chimed in.

Archie nodded and let the old lady bandage Arielle’s legs with the small, thin board attached on either side of the girl’s ankles to reduce the possibility of the sprained legs getting worse.

Archie shifted his gaze to Sasha. The doctor was examining all parts of Sasha’s wounds, both in his calf and hands. Archie furrowed his brows at the sight of the boy’s blue belly as if it was hit hard by something.

Seeing the severity of Sasha’s injuries, it seemed like treating the boy at home with less medical equipment wouldn’t be enough. Sasha also couldn’t return to the North right away, so the doctor might advise them to take him to the hospital in the capital and rest there for a few days. Archie was contemplating because he couldn’t let Ronan and his group hang around in Nieverdell longer than this.

Archie also had to settle with the higher-ups who weren’t involved in tonight’s incident. He must contact his family to ensure that only he would be deemed worthy of the throne and the one who could rebuild Nieverdell after the fall of his father’s regime.

Archie felt his work piled up, and he didn’t know where to start. He began to feel tired and lay down on the couch.

"Your Majesty," the doctor addressed Archie as he turned his head to face Archie, who was looking up at the ceiling. "I advise you to get some rest, too."

Archie didn’t reply, but a few seconds later, he got up with a firm gaze. "I am the one who chose this, so I have to bear the burden. At this moment, I am the king of Nieverdell and I cannot just sit here and rest."

The doctor looked at Archie, who left dejectedly. Before Archie got out of the room, he turned away to leave a message for the doctor’s wife through the doctor. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Please take good care of Arielle and the child. If you need anything, just tell Johan. He is one of my men now and will give you anything you need to treat them both. Maybe in the future, there will be one or two people who come to visit them. As long as Johan gives his permission, you can let them meet Arielle and Sasha. Without Johan’s permission, no one is allowed to visit them."

The doctor nodded in understanding. "Very well, Your Majesty."

"Ah, and one more thing... you will swear your loyalty to me no matter what, right, doctor?"

The doctor once again nodded with a smile. "No matter what happens, my family and I will always be loyal to you, Your Majesty."

After Archie left the doctor’s house, Johan patrolled around the house and guarded it from the inside.

Once in a while, Johan checked and made sure that the doctor was treating Sasha’s wound properly. He could see that there were some wounds that needed to be stitched. Almost the child’s entire body had to be bandaged.

Johan was always on guard and observed the forest. This place was quite far from the forest, but he guessed that the attack had not ended yet. He wore a Nieverdell armor, so he wouldn’t be suspected of being the invaders. The festive fireworks party had long stopped. Perhaps, the enemy had noticed that there was a louder explosion coming from the palace.

Johan held his sword as soon as he saw a horse approaching the doctor’s house.

"It’s me," Lucas said, lifting his hoodie.

The man immediately got off his horse and approached Johan.

"How are Princess Arielle and Sasha’s conditions? Is everything alright?" he asked breathlessly.

Johan led Lucas to come inside. "Princess Arielle’s legs are sprained and Sasha has had to receive some stitches."

Archie’s trusted doctor gave Lucas space to examine Arielle and Sasha. The older man stood silently on the side and watched Lucas intently. He realized the clothes that Lucas wore were extravagant, with many royal attributes.

The doctor often saw the red royal uniform on Lucas worn by princes. The doctor had suspicions that Lucas was a king. He was wondering who this man was.
