Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 254: The Heated Situation
A man was standing behind a tree dressed in all black. He struck two stones as a signal that the Northendell party had passed neutral territory and entered Northendell’s territory. Together with the group, they saw a man riding in the front row wearing all black clothes with a golden mask.
Information flowed very quickly, and the palace hall had received news that King Ronan had entered Nieverdell. He would only arrive tomorrow night, coinciding with the peak night of the summer festival.
Arielle frowned in confusion. Didn’t she meet Ronan on the way home yesterday? But who was the masked man leading the cavalry?
But Arielle was relieved to hear that because it was a sign that Kael, who was in charge of guarding the neutral area as they planned yesterday, had carried out his duties well.
One of the other informants said that the ship had entered the port dock. Arielle’s heart began to beat fast because there were Archie and Lazarus. She hoped everything would go well.
Arielle now understood why they were gathered there. King Hugo wanted his children to see the glory of Nieverdell firsthand. Whenever the informants entered, King Hugo always received the applause of appreciation from the nobles and advisors present. He also gave a direct command to his knights.
The whole room applauded, except for Arielle. Sometimes she was confused about whether she should feel relieved or worried. Because from what was conveyed, it seemed that everything was going according to what her father had planned.
She accidentally met Duke Pellington’s eyes, who were now staring at her intently. His gaze was no longer as friendly as it had been a few days ago. He always smirked at her but not this time.
Instead, the man smiled arrogantly as if to tell Arielle that no matter what happened, Arielle would be his wife. They were never allowed to return to the North.
It was getting late, and Arielle was worried about Tania. She also wanted to check on Sasha’s condition. The evening sky was getting orange, and it had been hours since no informant had appeared, making Arielle wonder how things were going at the port.
Did Archie and Lazarus succeed or fail?
A man ran in and knelt before the king. He provided a scroll containing the latest information for the port. Everyone in the hall grew increasingly tense, waiting for King Hugo to tell the results.
"Archie succeeded in repelling the group of troops led by Admiral Lazarus and looting the entire ship’s cargo. It is estimated that the port group will arrive at the palace tomorrow."
Instantly everyone stood up to applaud, congratulating Prince Archie on his success. Arielle stood awkwardly. She still remembered the tactics William explained to Lazarus and Archie. she hoped this announcement was just a scheme to trick them and to let them continue with their next tactic.
King Hugo summoned Lady Maia, who was his second concubine, the mother of Prince Archie, and offered her a great gift making the woman blush. Queen Rosalie smiled wryly to witness that.
She was indeed proud of Archie’s achievements, but she looked enviously at Lady Maia. Now she was just waiting for the latest news from his son, Alexis, who led the troops throughout the forest that surrounded the palace.
The last information from Alexis was that they were ready in their respective positions. The results would be seen tomorrow when King Ronan’s entourage arrived at the palace.
That evening, King Hugo invited all the guests to enjoy their dinner. Arielle used the opportunity to leave the hall. She didn’t care about the two knights following her. The girl ran quickly to her room and saw Tania who was making her bed.
Arielle hugged Tania tightly, feeling relieved that the woman had awakened. She could still feel Tania’s warm body.
"Have you eaten?"
"Yes, Princess. I’ve been awake a long time. I even helped put up some ornaments in the backyard."
"What are you doing putting up the ornaments? You need some rest, Tania!" Arielle scolded, annoyed to hear that Tania actually made her body tired.
"But my body is getting better."
"Better, but not necessarily healed!"
Tania cupped Arielle’s reddened face. Maybe what she did annoyed Arielle. But knowing Arielle, she knew there was something else that made the girl this angry.
Tania hugged Arielle so that the girl would calm down.
"I’m sorry, Princess. I just wanted to try to find information about Sasha’s whereabouts. That is it. They kept their mouths shut, so I went back to my room and rested again." said Tania hoping it would reduce Arielle’s anxiety.
Tania just realized that near the door, stood a knight with an iron helmet.
"What’s he doing keeping watch in the room?" asks Tania, confused.
Arielle looked back and shrugged her shoulders. "I will be watched. Brother Aron told me not to run away. How can I escape if I don’t know Sasha’s whereabouts."
The knight cleared his throat and held out something. He made a hand signal asking Tania to come closer to him. Tania, who was still suspicious, let go of Arielle’s embrace and approached the knight. He took off his iron helmet.
"Mr. Heath!" cried Arielle, who recognized the man as a man selling fruit in the market.
Heath tossed his hair and then showed three red dots on the back of his neck which were covered in hair. It was the same sign that Sasha had.
The man put his index finger to his lips, asking Arielle and Tania not to say much because now the palace was being heavily guarded, and there would be many knights going around to check the situation.
"Are those people outside also allies?" asked Arielle in a whisper.
Heath nodded and looked at Arielle with pity. From that gaze, Arielle immediately knew that Mr. Heath heard what Aron had said to her earlier in the palace hall.
"I’ll make sure His Majesty the King hears it, and Prince Aron is the first person I bring before King Ronan’s feet," Mr. heath, who had been holding back anger all this time after hearing what the prince said.
