Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 220: Arielle Wants To Be Brave
William yawned widely, the night was about to pass. Lazarus had fallen asleep on Kael’s shoulder. The wolf behind the iron bars beside them continued to bark and growl at the three of them.
"Come on, it’s been all night, you don’t want to sleep?" William asked hoarsely and slowly he fell asleep.
Ronan hadn’t slept in days from work, plus staying up all night in wolf form must have ruined the man’s body. William and Kael winced as the wolf hit the iron bars trying to lunge at them for the umpteenth time.
Lucas emerged from behind the door with a clean blanket and clean clothes for Ronan.
"Oh, what’s wrong, Lucas?" William asked.
"Soon it will be morning."
"Oh," he replied simply.
The wolf slowly growled. He slammed his head on the iron bars many times. The wolf was getting wild and uncontrollable making Lazarus who was sleeping woke up in surprise.
After several hits, he backed away and fell to the ground. In no time, the wolf’s massive body shrank with its thick, faded black fur replaced by the white skin of a human. Ronan had turned into a human. His body curled on the ground.
The man blinked his head slowly. For a moment, he felt a sensation of flying with his head empty. He was unable to think of anything. His head throbbed violently and his body felt crushed. He couldn’t even lift his head. He didn’t know what he had done to make him this tired.
His ears could hear the clanging sound of iron chains. He couldn’t make a sound when he saw the feet that stepped in front of him. A warm blanket wrapped around his body making Ronan feel very sleepy.
"Arielle," he mumbled before falling asleep.
William put a blanket on the man and asked Kael to help lift Ronan back to his room.
"Is he all right, William?" asked Lazarus worriedly seeing Ronan unconscious.
"He’s just exhausted because before the full moon night, he barely slept since Princess Arielle went back to the South. He’s just sleeping for the nights he’s spent," answered William who grabbed Ronan’s torn clothes on the floor.
The new clothes that Lucas brought were useless. He thought Ronan still had some energy left to get dressed again, apparently not. He was already asleep because of exhaustion. Lucas decided to help Lazarus put out the bonfire.
William immediately opened the door so Kael could come out while carrying Ronan on his back.
"I also want to rest for a while. You guys too. After he wakes up, we will definitely go back to work without resting," William told Lucas and Lazarus.
William and Kael took Ronan to his room. Kael paused for a moment to look at Ronan’s helpless state.
"So fragile," Kael muttered. William smiled wryly and put his arm around Kael to leave Ronan alone so he could rest in peace.
"That’s what we are for. To protect him at times like this," William said and Kael nodded in agreement.

<Nieverdell>
Arielle could not sleep all night. Every now and then, she could faintly hear the howling of a wolf in the distance. That clearly couldn’t be Ronan. Maybe just a wild wolf that happened to be passing through a residential area. Wolves were animals that they rarely encountered in Nieverdell unless they went into the forest.
Arielle never stopped staring at the full moon. She was very curious about Ronan’s current condition. Arielle was so worried that she couldn’t sleep.
Until the morning came, Arielle never closed her eyes. Her worries slowly subsided as the sun rose. It meant that the full night had passed and Ronan could rest now.
Sasha was awakened by Arielle’s voice who was humming the tune of a song.
"Good morning, Sasha," said Arielle to Sasha who was rubbing his eyes. The boy yawned widely, still feeling sleepy.
"If you’re still sleepy, then go back to sleep," offered Arielle.
Sasha shook his head briefly. "I have to look after you."
"I’m not going anywhere until noon. I promised to take you to the lake this afternoon, right?"
Arielle pulled her thin blanket to cover Sasha’s body. The boy let out a long sigh and closed his eyes again. He mumbled, "I think resting a few more minutes would be fine."
"You don’t have to worry."
Arielle gently patted Sasha’s head as the boy fell asleep again. She sat back in front of the balcony looking at the guards who changed shifts. Some of the maids also started to get busy with their routines.
Arielle could see Olin who was taking out all yesterday’s clothes to wash with the other servants. Smoke from the kitchen also began to appear, a sign that the cooks were preparing breakfast for the family.
Tania came to Arielle.
"What are you thinking, Princess?" asked Tania while holding out a bowl of tomato soup and bread for Arielle’s breakfast.
"Nothing. It’s just... it feels like my siblings are as aggressive as they were before. I have a bad feeling about this."
Tania chuckled. "What do you mean? Do you want your siblings to keep bullying you?"
"It is not like that. They knew that King Ronan had proposed to me. Then Archie also said that our father accepted another marriage proposal from a guy named Duke Pellington for me. Knowing them, they should have called me to threaten me so that I choose to marry a duke because I am not a princess worthy of a king."
Tania thought for a moment. She finally nodded in agreement. "Hm... everything is too quiet. And this calmness also bothered me."
Arielle’s heart throbbed in pain seeing Olin and the other maids joking around without her. While in the North, she always missed them. But why didn’t they even say hello or welcome her return? Arielle didn’t even dare to ask the reason why they avoided her.
Arielle bit her bread bitterly. What should she do? Just sitting here and waiting indefinitely would only make her regret it later. Arielle was aware that she had a passive attitude and nature.
She avoided conflict as much as possible. She didn’t want to stand out too much. This was the result of her siblings’ bullying. She became a girl with a lack of self-confidence.
Whenever there was a choice, Arielle always hesitated. She shook her head. It couldn’t go on like this. She also had to take a stand. Arielle remembered Archie’s words about her being too passive and easily bullied by others.
Arielle realized she had to be brave. She clenched her fists with determination. "I have to be able to fight back."
"Fight back? Tania asked confused. "Who will you fight?"
"Hmm? Anyone, Tania. First, I have to face my own fears." Arielle pointed at Olin and the other maids. "They are my friends. There must be a reason why they’re avoiding me. I must dare to ask!"
Tania clapped her hands appreciating Arielle’s courage.
Arielle rushed to finish her soup and bread. The girl then got up and left the balcony of her room.
"You didn’t wake Sasha first?" asked Tania who was still sitting in the same place.
Arielle turned to Sasha who was fast asleep and shook her head. "We are going on a trip to the lake so let him rest a little longer. I will finish this quickly."
Tania smiled crookedly at Arielle. "Good luck! And don’t get hurt!"
