Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 216: Exploring The City Center
Since yesterday, Arielle had become more aware of her surroundings. Olin or the other maids really didn’t want to interact with her or Tania at all. All her needs were now done by Arielle herself.
They also cooked their own dinner. And Sasha always accompanied her wherever she went. Not once did Sasha leave Arielle alone.
This afternoon Arielle was washing her clothes with Tania. Sasha helped by trampling on the cloth in the large wooden basin.
"Princess, do you always wash your clothes by yourself?" asked Sasha.
"Yeah, I’ve always done my own laundry with Tania. But we used to do it with other friends."
"Other friends?"
Arielle just nodded. She still felt sad because Olin and the other servants didn’t want to talk to her. Even though there were many stories that Arielle wanted to share. She didn’t dare start a conversation when the other person showed an indifferent attitude.
"Then what will you do after this?" asked Sasha once more.
Arielle thought for a moment. There wasn’t much she could do here. Normally, she would have done work with other maids, but she didn’t dare come any closer now.
In the North, she would spend time with her rabbits or study. But here, she did not have access to enter the library. She also didn’t want to wander around the palace, thereby increasing her chances of meeting her siblings.
Arielle glanced at Sasha, who was still waiting for her answer.
"Do you want to play outside the palace?" Arielle offered.
"Can we leave the palace?"
"Of course. Nothing will stop us here." Arielle looked down to whisper to Sasha. "My siblings would be happier if I wasn’t in the palace," she whispered with a big smile.
Sasha furrowed his brows in confusion. He wondered did Arielle’s siblings dislike her so much? Whereas for Sasha, Princess Arielle was the best person he had ever met. It was a pity, even though if they wanted to love Princess Arielle, Princess Arielle would definitely repay their kindness many times over.
"With Tania?"
Arielle nodded. "I want to show you the many beautiful places in Nieverdell."
Sasha looked up at the sky and narrowed his eyes at the glare of the sun then nodded enthusiastically. He did not really care where he would go with the princess.
Sasha only cared about how to protect Arielle from the evil attacks of her family. If they left the palace, that meant they wouldn’t meet her family, right? Sasha thought that was a good idea.
"Okay. I’ll take care of you wherever you go, Princess," said Sasha making Arielle chuckle. The girl ruffled Sasha’s hair excitedly.
Tania brought another bucket of dirty laundry, and the three of them washed the rest of the clothes while having small talk. After all the dirt was washed off, Sasha also helped Arielle dry the clothes.
Because Sasha’s body was small, he only helped take wet clothes and then gave them to Arielle and Tania, who were then stretched and dried the clothes on a clothesline.
Sasha now looked more comfortable in his female clothes. He was finally able to run here and there without having to fall because he stepped on his own skirt. Arielle smiled at Sasha, who really liked the sun. In the North, wherever they ran, they could never get this much sun.
Arielle fixed Sasha’s messy hair while Tania braided Arielle’s hair, so it didn’t get messy when they went out. The capital city of Nieverdell was very congested. They couldn’t let Arielle’s long hair make it difficult for her to walk among the crowd later. After braiding, Tania twisted the braid into a simple bun.
The three of them also used a wide hat made of simple woven straw. Tania grabbed the little money they had to buy Sasha a Niverdell meal later.
They exited the palace using the back door near the kitchen. After greeting a guard, the three of them walked hand in hand towards the city center.
The bustling markets of Niverdell were very different from the bustling markets of the North. The capital of Northendell was more organized.
Arielle had been to the capital square of Northendell, as well as a trading area in Frostmount Village in Northendell. Even though both were economic centers, they were very neat. Almost all sellers had a house that was turned into a shop. Only one or two merchants opened a stall on the street.
Meanwhile, in Nieverdell, everyone was selling on the roadside, which reduced the number of people there. And the narrowness of the road was not able to accommodate the crowds of the market, so they had to jostle to buy something.
Arielle invited Tania to go to a quieter place so that Sasha didn’t get tired. She could see the boy’s forehead was starting to get wet with sweat. In the North, with the cold weather, it was rare to sweat. Whereas in Nieverdell, where the sun was always there and shining brightly, it would be easy to make them sweat.
Arielle stopped in front of a fruit seller’s booth and offered it to Sasha.
"You want to try this fruit?" Arielle offered to Sasha.
"What is the name of this fruit?"
"It’s called tangerine. It’s hard to find it in the North, right?"
Sasha nodded. He had seen only apples and pears and grapes and frostberries and berries while in the North. Arielle then took a tangerine and peeled it on the spot. She took one piece and placed it in front of the boy’s mouth.
Sasha opened his mouth doubtfully. He closed his mouth, waiting for a strange taste to overtake his sense of taste. His face scrunched up as a sour taste overtook him. However, as time went on, there was a sweet taste that made him open his eyes in surprise.
"Whoaaaa," Sasha exclaimed. "This is really delicious!"
"You want more?"
Sasha nodded quickly, making Arielle and Tania chuckle. They were happy to see he liked the fruit.
