Chapter 208: Bullied By Andrea

Andrea then stood up straight and walked slowly to examine Tania, who looked unperturbed. She pulled Tania’s chin to look at her with her folding fan. The old woman didn’t look scared at all. She even dared to meet her eyes.

Andrea snorted and hit Tania’s head with her folding fan.

"Whoever is behind Arielle right now won’t be able to do anything. As long as Arielle is still on the land of Nieverdell. The most absolute decision was in the hands of King Hugo. You can name anyone here but don’t trust they will protect you. If I give the order to behead you, no one will protest, Tania... So be careful if you want to live."

Tania held her forehead, which was hit by Andrea. After threatening her just now the woman left the kitchen. But only a few seconds later, Andrea returned and looked at Tania with a big smile.

"I heard Matthew’s child drowned a few days ago," she said casually.

Tania’s body stiffened when Andrea said the name of her friend. Her fists clenched tightly against her emotions. Andrea chuckled, seeing Tania, who was silent on the spot. The woman left the kitchen and headed for her sister’s room, which she wanted to visit.

"What did I do wrong?" asked Arielle sadly.

Sasha took Arielle’s hand and grasped it. "Princess, perhaps while you were in the North, something had happened that made them not want to talk to you."

"But at least they can greet me back."

Sasha was silent on the spot and then thought of some way. He needed to communicate with the spies to find out what happened to the maid in the palace.

Sasha then left Arielle alone. The boy walked slowly down the quiet palace hall. He found a line of guards. Every time he blinked his eyes when he met them, neither one responded.

"What are you looking at, little one?" asked a guard who was confused to find a girl staring at him intently.

"Oh, it is okay. I’m just a little amazed to see the clothes of Nieverdell’s guards are more beautiful than those of the guards in the North."

What Sasha said was true. Nieverdell’s palace guard outfits were focused on beauty. They used thick leather-based materials. Whereas in the North, an ordinary guard still wore armor, like soldiers who were always ready for war.

After saying that, Sasha went to find another bodyguard and spoke the same code words, waiting for someone to reply to the code with a big yawn.

Sasha continued to look for another bodyguard who was on guard. He turned quickly when he saw a prince walking toward him. He recognized the man as the prince who helped Arielle hide the necklace that Ronan gave her.

Archie walked away, yawning, making Sasha stop in place. The boy turned to Archie, who looked bored. The man scratched his head and pointed at a bodyguard who was standing near the library entrance.

Sasha looked confused, and he was still frozen as Archie passed him. Sasha turned to the guard and blinked a few times, then the guard yawned widely. He did the same moves as Prince Archie did earlier.

Sasha approached the bodyguard. He looked left and right, making the guard and spy feel uncomfortable because Sasha’s movements were too obvious. Not very smooth, he thought.

"Find out why the maids are avoiding Princess Arielle," whispered Sasha, who then ran away.

The guard let out a long sigh.

"Lord Kael, why did you send an amateur?" he muttered sadly. "That boy could jeopardize our mission."

Arielle looked down at her painting equipment sadly. She then saw several paintings on the walls. There was a painting of Olin drying clothes. And there was also a painting of a guard, who gave flowers to a maid. Arielle painted many landscapes of the palace and her friends.

The door to her room was opened, and Arielle thought it was Sasha who came back or Tania who followed her. It turned out that it was someone Arielle didn’t expect to meet. It was her eldest sister, Andrea.

Andrea walked into Arielle’s room with a disgusted expression. The woman extended her folding fan to cover her nose and mouth.

"Well, this should be your place." Andrea smiled sinuously at Arielle. "Now you see for yourself, don’t you? Even though you are a princess, we have different statuses. We will never be the same, and you will never be able to catch up with me or my other siblings."

Andrea pushed the black bucket with her feet. It was filled with various types of brushes belonging to Arielle, which were worn out from being used too much. Andrea frowned in disgust when she saw a lizard run away when the bucket moved.

"You’re just an ugly chicken dreaming of flying with us eagles." Andrea pushed Arielle’s shoulder with the tip of her fan. "Even until you die, you are just a bastard child who doesn’t deserve to live. Maybe Alexis still has a soft side for you, but I don’t. I won’t hesitate to slap you if you lift your head an inch."

Arielle just silently looked down. She squeezed her hand tightly to keep herself from crying. Inside her head, she was busy calming herself and telling herself not to be afraid of Andrea.

"Calm down. It’s just Andrea, you have nothing to fear, Arielle. Ronan will come and get you. You just need to stay out of sight all day. Don’t fight, Arielle. Don’t-"

SLAP!

It was a hard slap that Andrea put on Arielle’s right cheek. Now a red mark was created on Arielle’s pale face. Arielle staggered down onto the bed. She stared at Andrea in disbelief while holding her sore cheek. The tears she had been holding back immediately spilled out, but she didn’t dare to speak.

She didn’t even do anything, and Andrea slapped her for no reason.

"B-but why? What have I done to make you slap me?" asked Arielle in a hoarse voice. Her lips trembled with anger and shame that she had been slapped for no reason.

She was angry because she was so weak and did not dare to fight back. Arielle was mad at herself for being unable to do anything but cry.
