Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 195: Suprise!!
"Chef Michael!" called Ronan.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" replied chef Michael loudly.
"Where is Arielle now?" the man asked, making Chef Michael feel guilty.
"Uhm... H-Her Highness Princess Arielle had spent some time here and had gone back. B-but I don’t know where she went," Chef Michael stammered.
Ronan checked everyone there. Not one of them dared to raise their heads. Several people were holding brooms and other cleaning tools. Arielle might have just finished playing in the kitchen, so they just had a chance to clean it.
Ronan then left the kitchen and looked for other clues about Arielle’s whereabouts. His fist loosened. He was no longer angry. There was a sense of awe that made Ronan smile a little.
It was like playing hide and seek again. But this time, he wasn’t too excited because all he wanted was Arielle and to spend time with the girl.
He had wasted a lot of time just looking for her. Ronan was standing in front of the entrance of the Blackthorn palace. His eyes darted around the palace to see the possibility of Arielle appearing unexpectedly.
As he was focused on checking all the places one by one, suddenly Sasha came out of breath, calling out to him.
"Your Majesty... huff... Your Majesty... please...."
Ronan had no intention of helping the boy. He took one big step to leave Sasha. The boy’s business could come another time after he found Arielle.
"Your Majesty! Princess Arielle!" shouted Sasha, calling Ronan.
Arielle? Why did Sasha ask for help? Had something happened to the girl? Was Arielle in danger? Why did Sasha ask for help?
The man stopped in his tracks and turned quickly towards Sasha.
"What happened to Arielle?" he asked frantically.
Sasha shook his head, trying to catch his breath. Without saying a word he pulled Ronan’s hand to run with him.
The frantic Ronan couldn’t resist the boy’s tug. His heart was beating fast and he was worried that something had happened to Arielle. Sasha’s panic rubbed off on him. They ran through the palace halls. There was no time to ask Sasha anything. He wanted to see Arielle’s condition firsthand.
His brows furrowed as the two stopped in front of his study.
"What’s with Arielle, kiddo?"
Sasha, who was exhausted flowed here and there, just pointed at the door of the man’s study. "P-please, Princess Arielle..."
Ronan opened the door to his study roughly.
"Surprise!"
Arielle clapped her hands as William and Lazarus pulled the confetti so that the colorful little bits of paper they had cut flew into the sky. Kael, Lucas, and Priest Elis stood behind Arielle.
Meanwhile, Sasha, who had followed Ronan inside, grabbed the trumpet he had placed by the door and blew it loudly. Ronan just silently watched. He wasn’t impressed at all. He even covered the hole of the trumpet that Sasha kept blowing until the boy coughed.
"Could you guys come out for a bit?" asked Ronan coldly.
Lazarus and William stopped playing with the confetti they were holding. Likewise with Sasha who stopped blowing his trumpet.
"Huh?"
Arielle saw the people around her starting to leave the room one by one.
Did the surprise fail? Was she wrong to use the man’s study to celebrate this little party? Arielle, who was confused, also stepped to leave the room, but Ronan held her hand.
"You stay here," he ordered curtly.
After the room was empty but for the two of them. Ronan grabbed Arielle’s hand and hugged her tightly.
"Arielle... you almost killed me," the man said tiredly.
His heart almost stopped beating when Sasha asked for help earlier. He thought something bad had happened to Arielle, and it turned out that the girl was here, looking fine and even preparing a surprise for him.
Ronan had been looking for the girl since he opened his eyes this morning, and he wasted a lot of precious time that he should have spent alone with Arielle.
He had done all his work the day before so he could be with Arielle today, but what did he get...? Just feeling tired and worried.
Arielle raised her hand to return the man’s hug.
"What’s wrong? Don’t you like the surprise?" asked Arielle, feeling guilty.
Ronan shook his head. He took off his mask and buried his face in the crook of the girl’s neck to inhale the scent of Arielle’s body that he missed.
"It’s not about the surprise, Arielle. But I haven’t found you anywhere since I woke up. It makes me sad and worried."
"Sorry, Ronan. I just need a little time to prepare this all."
"You teamed up with William and Lazarus?" asked Ronan, who still didn’t want to let Arielle out of his arms.
The girl nodded, causing Ronan to tighten his embrace even more. She whispered worriedly, "But don’t get mad at them. I asked them to cooperate myself."
"Did you know that William lied to me by saying you were in Cathedral praying? I went there and didn’t find you there."
"Sorry. I was indeed there to pray in the morning before gathering William, Lucas, and Lazarus."
"So you also know that Lazarus tricked me into saying that you went out of the palace with Lucas without my permission to take the painting equipment you bought yesterday?"
Arielle let go of the man’s embrace and then cupped Ronan’s sullen face.
"Sorry. I didn’t mean to lie to you. I need some time to make the cake and all this stuff."
Ronan saw a two-tiered white tart with a dozen small candles on it. The table by the sofa was also full of cakes and bread and a large bottle of champagne. Ronan saw some of the ribbons adorning the fireplace, the sofa, and also the wolf statue.
Arielle had worked hard to do all of this.
"For what purpose did you prepare all this?" he asked, frowning.
Arielle lowered her hand and rested it on the man’s chest. Ronan grabbed Arielle to get closer to him.
"I’m going back to the South tomorrow. I won’t have the chance to be at your birthday party next week. That’s why I want to celebrate it now."
"My birthday?"
The girl nodded.
