Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 191: Preparing A Surprise Party
Ronan grumbled loudly because he still had work to do. The man was determined, he would take the time to accompany the girl all day long. He could put off other things. The king yawned once more, then stretched his muscles to feel fresh again.
Ronan reached for the mask to put it back on. He wanted to find Arielle’s whereabouts and give her whatever she wanted. He wanted to pamper Arielle all day. With his clothes half-open, Ronan realized that he looked very untidy.
The man rushed to grab his jacket and return to his room. He quickly cleaned himself from the tiredness of yesterday and then put on more casual clothes. Ronan intentionally did not wear his royal attire because he had absolutely no intention of working that day. Ronan, who had just left his room, accidentally met William, who also happened to want to meet him.
"Reports of ships anchored in..."
"Not now, William," said the king before William could finish his sentence.
"But... you’ve wanted this report for a long time."
"You know where Arielle is?" asked Ronan, ignoring William’s words. William fell silent. His brows furrowed in thought for a moment.
"The Ship of Sir-"
"If you don’t know about Arielle, leave me alone," Ronan said, leaving William still standing where he was.
William cursed softly, then followed Ronan quickly. He wasn’t the right person to take on this task, but Arielle had asked for his help. And William couldn’t refuse the princess’s request at all.
Lazarus was probably more suited to the task of stalling Ronan’s time since the man was more stubborn than him. William took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly.
"What about the neutral area agreement? Thebis representative will arrive within seven days at the same time as your birthday party."
"Then don’t talk to me for the next seven days."
William bit his lip and then searched for the report sheets that might interest the king. "Ah then about the knights’ health test? What if we just advance the annual activity?"
Ronan then stopped walking, making William also stop his steps.
"William, this is my last warning. Get those papers off my face for the day. And help me find Arielle. I’ll wait in my room."
Ronan turned around. He no longer intended to find Arielle. It was his subtle way of getting William out of his sight. Of course, by giving him a new job.
William watched Ronan leave with annoyance. He nearly raised his fist to give the man a hit from behind before Ronan turned, making him quickly hide his fist behind the paper.
"Yes, Your Majesty?" asked William nervously because Ronan suddenly turned around, startling him.
"Tell Lucas to bring me some breakfast. And remember, William... bring Arielle to me," said Ronan firmly, making William forced to nod according to the king’s orders.
After confirming that Ronan actually entered his study, William hurriedly ran towards the palace kitchen where Arielle, Tania, Lucas, and several palace chefs gathered. They were preparing a lot of dishes for a small party that Arielle was going to throw to celebrate the king’s birthday.
Early in the morning, Arielle came to see William and then told the man about her plans to throw a small party. William, of course, was enthusiastic about the idea.
He also immediately gathered Lazarus and Lucas to come up with a plan to keep Ronan away from Arielle for a while. He actually wanted to invite Kael, but the man would only come home from his camping this afternoon.
So the three of them had to complete a task to distract Ronan’s focus for a few hours until this afternoon from Arielle while she was preparing the surprise party for him.
That was a difficult thing. William’s attempts to drown Ronan in work seemed futile. William knew it would be pointless because the man himself said he would work all night so he could spend the whole day alone with Arielle.
"His Majesty the king doesn’t want to work. He asked me to take you to his study," said William desperately.
Arielle, whose arms were covered in flour, looked around with a confused look.
"Maybe tell him I’m sick and don’t want to be disturbed?" asked Arielle innocently.
Lucas shook his head. "That would make His Majesty the king worry. If he hears that you are sick, even if a dragon is guarding your bedroom door, His Majesty the King will kill the dragon just to make sure you have been examined by a doctor."
Arielle furrowed her brows in thought for a moment.
"Or maybe just say I’m studying in the library and don’t want to be disturbed?"
Lucas and William shook their heads, not sure Ronan would accept that excuse. The man would also come to visit the library. He would be even angrier if he couldn’t find Arielle there.
Lazarus, who had been sitting by the window eating the frostberries, got up and came up with an idea.
"I have an idea," he said, causing Arielle, Lucas and William to turn their heads to him together when they heard her speaking.
"William, tell Ronan that the Princess is praying in the Cathedral. And I will tell Priest Elis to cooperate to say that Princess Arielle had prayed earlier and then went with Lucas outside the palace to pick up the goods they ordered yesterday."
"Priest Elis?" asked Arielle. She was confused by the suggestion. So, she said, "I don’t believe Priest Elis could lie with such an excuse. He can’t lie."
Lazarus chuckled. "He can lie. I can attest to that. However, he would only do it if it’s for a good cause. Priest Eliis once lied to a woman who nearly killed me. He helped me and hid me then said that he had never seen me even though a few minutes earlier I begged him to hide me, hehe..."
Arielle glanced at William, and the man could understand the princess’s reluctance to trust him.
