Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 188: The Scared Lazarus
"What did you say, Lucas?" asked Arielle in surprise.
The girl left the bench and ran fast towards Lazarus, who was being crushed by the giant wolf.
Lucas smacked his mouth, feeling guilty. He enjoyed the sight of Lazarus so much being beaten by his king that he forgot that Princess Arielle wouldn’t let anyone get hurt. The man also stood up and ran after the princess to help Lazarus.
Lazarus had given up. He couldn’t move. Defeating Ronan in his human form alone was already very difficult, let alone when he transformed into a giant wolf like this. Both Lazarus’ hands were held by the big wolf’s body. It was very difficult to even breathe.
"Ronan... I was... just fooling around," he said in between gasping breaths. "I wasn’t serious... pleaseee..."
Ronan didn’t give Lazarus a chance to move. His sharp claws were only inches away from the man’s neck. Ronan opened his mouth to bite Lazarus’ neck... 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Ronan!" Arielle called, who then hugged the wolf’s head tightly. "No! Lazarus is your friend! Don’t hurt him."
"I’m just accepting an invitation to play from him," said Ronan in Arielle’s head.
The girl shook her head. "Playing should be fun. Lazarus is scared."
Ronan raised his hand, and now Lazarus’ face was wet with tears.
"Ronan... I love you... we’re friends, right? Why are you doing this to me?" he asked in a trembling voice.
Ronan rolled his eyes in disgust. Arielle kept pulling his body down from Lazarus’s body. Ronan then listened to Arielle’s request. After Ronan’s weight was lifted from above his body, Lazarus took a deep breath to fill his lungs again.
He never thought something like this would happen. He thought Ronan had been tame, but he almost lost his life just now if Arielle wasn’t there to intervene.
Arielle looked at Lazarus with concern.
"L-let’s just, go back to the room," said Arielle to Ronan. "Lucas, please pay attention to Lazarus and check if he is seriously injured or not."
"Yes, Your Highness," Lucas replied.
Lucas helped Lazarus to stand up. Lazarus no longer had the energy. His legs couldn’t support himself, so Lucas had to summon two other knights to carry Lazarus.
Lucas shook his head slowly and then sighed.
"I told you. You never listen, Sir Lazarus. I hope this incident will be a lesson for you in the future," Lucas said, advising Lazarus.
Lazarus just stared. The half of his soul that had almost evaporated had not solidified back, so the man didn’t hear anything Lucas was saying. Even when carried like dead meat, Lazarus did not protest much. The look in his empty eyes implied how the events just now gave him a new sense of trauma.
Ronan and Arielle returned to her room. Some of the guards and servants they passed looked surprised to see a giant wolf walking by the side of the princess. Even some maids screamed hysterically as the wolf growled. Ronan himself could not turn back into a human form because his clothes were left in Arielle’s room.
On the way, they found some rabbits roaming in the hallway in front of the room, so Arielle looked towards the bedroom door, and sure enough, Ronan had left it open.
"Wait a minute, let me collect them first. You can go in first," said Arielle, who then ran towards the rabbits.
Ronan just stood there. When he took the form of a wolf, all of his senses functioned more sharply. His ears moved left and right when he heard a small shuffling sound around him. Ronan lowered his head to see a white furball with a pair of long ears sitting in between his two legs.
The little rabbit was Riel. Ronan raised his hand, and Riel was hanging on the furry hand. Ronan put Riel on top of his head, waiting for Arielle to finish gathering the rest of the rabbit family.
"I have found four. But I didn’t see Riel."
"Look back," said Ronan, whose voice echoed in the girl’s head.
Arielle looked back. Her eyes blinked a few times at Riel, who was resting on Ronan’s head.
"Awww...."
Ronan didn’t wait for Arielle as the man entered the room. Arielle smiled gently and then followed. The girl closed her bedroom door tightly and returned the rabbit family she had gathered into the basket where they slept.
Ronan chose to sit by the fire in his wolf form. He folded his front legs and rested his head on them. Arielle grabbed a blank paper and a pencil, and the girl followed and sat by the fire. She smiled slightly when she saw Ronan and Riel, who both closed their eyes.

Arielle moved her hands so skillfully in drawing sketches of the two different sized animals in front of her. Ronan and Riel both looked in peace and were so comfortable with each other. Arielle added some parts of the shadow formed on the other side that was not affected by the light of the fire.
After drawing Ronan and Riel at the same time, the girl added some flowers to add a gentle feel to the wolf’s face. Now the wolf in her painting no longer looked scary. She even added a flower crown above Riel’s head.
She smiled at her work. After she finished drawing, Arielle folded her legs and then sat down looking at Ronan’s sleeping wolf face. Her hand reached out to touch the animal’s nose with her index finger.
"Are you done drawing?" asked Ronan in her head.
"Done. Haven’t you fallen asleep earlier?"
"No. I’m just resting for a bit. I meant to get up, but you look serious drawing me with Riel. I don’t want to interfere."
Arielle leaned forward and patted her thigh, signaling for the wolf to rest its head on Arielle’s lap.
"After playing earlier, you must feel tired, right? You didn’t even take your break, did you?"
Ronan chuckled. Arielle helped Ronan lift Riel to sleep somewhere else as Ronan rested his head on Arielle’s lap.
"May I see the drawing you made earlier?"
"I just did a rough sketch. So I made this drawing simple."
"It’s okay, I want to see it."
Arielle looked back at the drawing. Hesitantly, the girl showed the results of her handiwork. Ronan raised his head. His head moved left and right to see the side of the wolf that looked... so tame.
