Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 157: Ronan’s Letter
Ronan came to the South at the same time as William and his envoy but in disguise because he could not leave this matter for long. He would be waiting at an inn in the capital of Nieverdell for William’s answer.
It would be very inefficient for William to return to the North first to give him the answer from the South. Meanwhile, Ronan didn’t want to meet King Hugo.
He realized that if he ever met the Southerners again, it would only ignite his rage. Especially their crown prince, who Ronan desperately wanted to suffocate.
The gate had been opened, and he saw William and the others enter the palace. Ronan left the tree and blended into the crowds of the capital. He was going to meet some of the people he had assigned to the South to report on the man named Matthew and Duke Pellington.

William smiled kindly at some of the people there. The last visit did not go smoothly due to the incident carried out by Prince Alexis. Seeing several guards lined up in front of the palace made William let out a long breath.
Someone he recognized was seen crossing the line of guards. It was one of the Northerners who had sneaked into the Nieverdell palace the past few months. When King Hugo’s assistant came to greet his entourage, William dismounted from his horse.
"Welcome to the palace of Nieverdell, Sir William De’lacoste of the Kingdom of Northendell," said the man with hair that was turning white with age.
William took off his hood and returned the man’s greeting. So did the five people behind him.
"His Majesty King Hugo Dellune awaits your arrival. Please come with me."
When the assistant took William and his entourage into the palace, the line of guards gave them the way and then dispersed. One of the northern knights, who was at the very back, gave a slip of paper marked with three red dots on the end secretly to the Northerner disguised as a guard.
William and his envoy then walked through the palace hall. They passed by one of the princes, who was sitting on the balcony railing, eating an apple.
"Good morning, Prince Archie," William greeted pleasantly. However, the young man didn’t seem interested. He only glanced briefly, then looked away while biting the apple in his hand.
"...."
William just laughed awkwardly, then stepped back into the palace hall. Their way was again held back by a mob of women. This time, it was a group of princesses, and William was clueless as to where they were going to go.
His friendly smile faded when he saw Princess Andrea leading the rest of her siblings.
"Good morning, Sir William. I didn’t expect you to come so soon." Andrea looked at all the faces behind William with a frown. "His Majesty King Ronan isn’t coming with you?"
"His Majesty is with Princess Arielle now," William answered briefly, making Andrea stop smiling.
"If Princess let me, I would like to see His Majesty, King Hugo. Good morning." William bowed respectfully, as did the five people behind him, leaving Andrea, who was clenching her fists.
"Andrea?" One of the princesses called out to Andrea. They promised to prepare a tea party but Andrea didn’t seem interested. She turned to leave her younger siblings just like that, following William’s group who had entered the throne room.
Inside the room, King Hugo and Prince Alexis were already waiting. A knight announced William’s presence. Andrea stood at the door of the hall warding off the hand of a guard. The king had given orders not to allow anyone to interfere with his conversation with the North.
William pressed his hand on his chest then bowed respectfully, his movement was followed by several people standing behind him.
"Greetings, Your Majesty the King Hugo Dellune," William greeted the king.
King Hugo also returned William’s greeting.
"It is a rare occasion to have a Northern representative visit Nieverdell without any prior notice. What is the concern?" asked King Hugo.
William took a step forward then held out a royal letter with the Northendell emblem on it to a guard to present the letter to King Hugo. Alexis, who continued to watch William, raised his eyebrows curiously. Likewise, Andrea now came forward and sat on one of the chairs usually used by elders for meetings in the hall.
William did not flinch, he continued to maintain a faint smile waiting for King Hugo to open the contents of the letter. He paid no heed to the glares from Prince Alexis or Princess Andrea even once.
King Hugo opened the letter. His eyebrows rose at the sight of a short paragraph written by King Ronan himself. The old king snorted in amusement as he read the last sentence. He gave William a brief look.
"Is this a joke?"
William did not understand what King Hugo meant. All he knew was it was a marriage proposal letter addressed to King Hugo to accept Ronan’s proposal. William didn’t pay attention to what Ronan had written.
King Hugo gave a letter from his hand to Alexis. Before reading, the prince glared at William. His lips opened in disbelief at what the Northern king had written on paper.
"What is this?" Alexis asked, half shouting. He looked really offended.
William frowned even more. He became curious about what Ronan had written in that letter. Alexis chuckled and then went downstairs to approach William. He returned the letter to William by slamming it against the man’s chest.
William quickly grabbed the letter before it fell to the floor. He looked at Prince Alexis as well as King Hugo without fear. William then checked the contents of the letter. He was very familiar with the writings of the king. His eyebrows shot up in laughter.
[No matter what you say. I’m gonna marry her anyway.]
William took a deep breath. Of course. Very typical Ronan. And here he was, tasked with setting this all straight. He made a personal note of punching the guy just once.
