Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 154: Alexis And Andrea In Nieverdell
<Nieverdell>
Queen Rosalie was waiting for the arrival of her two children, Prince Alexis and Princess Andrea, who had just returned from the North. Some of their other siblings were also waiting behind the queen.
As the carriage was seen entering the palace grounds, the woman’s smile widened. A servant opened the carriage door, and Alexis walked out without even greeting his mother. The man was annoyed.
"I told you we should have ridden faster," he said in an annoyed tone at Andrea, who had just come out of the carriage.
"I’m not comfortable if the carriage moves too fast!" Andrea replied, no less annoyed than her brother.
"That’s why it took us days to get home, Andrea!"
They had just come a very long way. To ride really fast might take a day and a night but traveling with Andrea was like walking with an ant. They took four days. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Alexis left the palace grounds because he wanted to immediately report to his father about Arielle and what Ronan had done to him. Andrea, who was still annoyed about how she had been blamed by her brother for the slow journey home, also left the palace grounds. She didn’t even greet Queen Rosalie and the rest of her siblings.
"What happened? Didn’t they see their mother standing here?" asked Queen Rosalie, who was standing in bewilderment at the front.
"I don’t think so, Mother," answered Annalise, who was accompanying her mother to welcome her two older siblings home.
The servants who were working immediately withdrew and lowered their heads as they passed Prince Alexis. The man’s step was widened to hastily meet his father. Andrea followed not far behind with the same goal. Namely, asking their father to bring Arielle home as soon as possible.
The two guards who were standing in front of the king’s room stepped aside after opening the door for the two, who looked annoyed. After the two entered, the two guards just glanced at each other, then closed the door to the king’s room again.
"Something unpleasant has happened in the North, right?" asked one of the guards in a whisper. The other guard just put his index finger in front of his lips, asking his friend not to talk too much.
King Hugo was having a discussion with a nobleman. Seeing his two children finally returning from Northendell, the man chased the nobleman away. He then turned to Alexis, who was standing with a stiff face.
"What’s wrong? You seem unimpressed by the North," King Hugo said. He was sure after examining his eldest son’s uneasy expression.
"Your Majesty, I think we should hasten Arielle’s return from the North. Arielle seems to be getting too comfortable there, and so is King Ronan."
King Hugo raised his eyebrows in disbelief.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"Arielle went to the North to be taken as a prisoner, but when I went there, Arielle wasn’t treated badly at all. And that’s a good thing. It’s just that Andrea and I suspect that Arielle has some kind of a relationship with King Ronan."
"Some kind of a relationship? Arielle?"
"We can’t break our pact with Duke Pellington, can we? Maybe we could swap her, send one of your other daughters and then bring Arielle back to the South."
Andrea covered her mouth in disbelief at the idea that Alexis had given the king. Her brother must have gone mad. He was really willing to throw away his other sibling for his own sake.
"What do you mean, Alexis?" Andrea asked.
Alexis looked unperturbed. The man was still standing tall, waiting for an answer from his father. King Hugo himself was silent. He was quite surprised by what Alexis just said. If Arielle and King Ronan started dating... what should he do?
He remembered a woman he had met in his past. The woman was known as a prostitute by everyone in this palace, and unfortunately, he had to have a child with that prostitute. King Hugo touched his forehead, feeling angered by Arielle’s current situation.
"Let’s just send a child from one of your concubines to the North. We will bring Arielle home immediately, and hasten her marriage to Duke Pellington."
Andrea saw her brother’s stern face.
"Let me replace her! I will return to the North to substitute Arielle," said the woman making Alexis click his tongue.
"Not you. You stay here," Alexis growled, making Andrea even more upset.
"Huh? I am the eldest daughter! You can’t control me!"
"Andrea, leave us alone," King Hugo interrupted the woman’s words.
Andrea glanced at her brother and father in turn. She left the room with heavy steps as King Hugo watched his daughter in bewilderment.
"What’s with the kid? I don’t think she likes cold weather."
Alexis glanced back, then looked at his father once more.
"We have to bring Arielle home immediately," he said again with great emphasis.
"It’s not that easy. We should also discuss this with the North."
"No way. They won’t let Arielle go home." Alexis took off his collar and showed his father the bruises on his neck. "King Ronan himself threatened me not to bring Arielle home."
King Hugo got up from his seat and then walked briskly towards Alexis worriedly.
"What’s this? You got hurt up there in the North?" King Hugo asked in a high voice.
The king felt that this was an act that had crossed the line. Injuring a crown prince is a crime. King Hugo started growling and clenching his fists.
"Ronan.... now, you are too comfortable with your position as king."
The man turned back to his chair and glared at Alexis. "Hm, we can’t let the North feel more powerful. We are a great empire. We are equal to the North. I won’t let this go."
Alexis grabbed a chair in front of her father’s desk. "So, what are you going to do about Arielle?"
"We’ll talk about this later tonight. You can get some rest."
"But-"
"Alexis. Go back to your room," King Hugo ordered in a sharp tone.
