Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 153: Lazarus And Kael
"Lazarus, you came back at the wrong time," said Kael, not looking excited at all.
The man who Kael called Lazarus just laughed loudly. Arielle frowned because the man laughed like a mad man, but she didn’t find anything funny.
Lazarus walked closer to Kael. With great ease, the man briefly touched Sasha’s head. He pushed him away without even looking in his direction. The man peeked behind Kael’s back then rubbed his chin, watching Arielle carefully from top to bottom.
"What’s with your taste Kael? The last time I remember, you like women who have big breasts? How could you keep a small child beside you?" asked Lazarus, noticing Arielle’s chest, which was completely hidden under her dress.
He was used to seeing his best friends surround themselves with women with prominent cleavages.
Arielle widened her eyes in surprise at Lazarus’ rude behavior. Her mouth was agape in disbelief, meeting someone like that. She immediately covered her chest, which the vulgar man continued to stare at.
"So disrespectful!" scolded Tania, who moved forward to protect Arielle.
Kael cleared his throat and pushed Lazarus’ body away.
"Lazarus, you can’t talk to Princess Arielle like that. Princess Arielle is the guest of honor in the North. She came from the Nieverdell Kingdom."
Lazarus pursed his lips as if surprised by the information just now.
"Wait a minute! You’re a princess from Nieverdell? What are you doing here? Just a minute... a minute... I’ve been to the South, and I’ve never heard any princess called Arielle before."
"That’s none of your business!" Tania replied harshly.
The old woman was already annoyed by Lazarus’ disrespectful attitude towards Arielle.
"Come on, Your Highness. We must return to the room immediately," she said, holding Arielle’s arm.
Tania led Arielle, who had been silent all this time, to walk out of the colosseum. Arielle was too shocked to see someone could be so outspoken and rude. She then hastened her pace to leave the area.
Kael couldn’t do anything about it. He had not even had time to apologize to Princess Arielle and her servant due to the actions of his best friend, who did not understand manners. Lazarus watched Arielle depart the colosseum. His eyes fell on Arielle’s ass.
He turned to Kael and shook his head. "Hey, I thought you always like women with big ass too-hmph!"
Kael grabbed Lazarus’ face with his big hands and pushed the man off the field. However, before leaving, he gave orders to a nearby knight to keep an eye on Sasha, who would train his stances.
Kael was still holding Lazarus’ mouth tightly. The man tried to break free, but Kael’s body was bigger and more muscular than his slender body.
Several knights called out his name.
"Hey, Lazarus! How are you? I heard you were on a treasure hunt? How was it going?"
"Hey, how many women did you sleep with on another island?"
"Lazarus, if you don’t pay your debts from last year, I will really burn your ship!"
"I heard your ship will be detained by the King if you don’t come back!!!’"
The knights cheered excitedly, teasing Lazarus, who couldn’t reply because his mouth was gagged and he was dragged away by Kael. The man just waved his hand, asking them to shut up. He threatened the knights with his piercing eyes, but the knights weren’t afraid at all. They just laughed even louder.
Kael brought Lazarus to the dorm where the knights and soldiers were staying. Lazarus immediately and casually occupied Kael’s large chair, resting his feet on the table.
"So why is a princess from Nieverdell in the North? Is there anything I should know?" he asked Kael.
The man didn’t answer. He poured a glass of whiskey and gave it to Lazarus. He knew the only way to deal with Lazarus was to treat him as calmly as possible.
There might be two outcomes, either Lazarus would be happy, or he would get more and more annoying. All this time, if he was with Kael, Lazarus could keep his attitude in check. But if they met William, the two men could turn wild until King Ronan had to intervene himself to threaten them firmly.
"Originally, Princess Arielle came to the North as a prisoner to make up for the mistakes the South committed."
Lazarus spat out his whiskey in surprise. Kael just shook his head disapprovingly, then gave his handkerchief to Lazarus.
"Huh? What wrong did the South do that a princess was detained here?"
"William said the Crown Prince of Nieverdell accidentally killed a wolf during a hunting party. King Ronan asked a prisoner from Nieverdell until the South could return a baby wolf in place of the wolf that was killed by Prince Alexis."
Lazarus nodded in understanding. He knew who Prince Alexis was. When his ship sailed in one of the Southern ports, Lazarus once infiltrated the Capital City and saw the face of the handsome man with golden hair.
As a prince, making a mistake in the hunt was a ridiculous act. Lazarus chuckled, imagining Alexis’ prideful face panicked because he had made a mistake.
"Then if Princess Arielle is here as a prisoner, why is she walking around outside? Why is she not imprisoned in the dungeon?"
Kael rolled his eyes at Lazarus’ question just now. Kael didn’t feel like explaining something so obvious to Lazarus. The North certainly wouldn’t treat Princess Arielle the way they treat criminals. Even though she was a prisoner, Princess Arielle was still a royal princess, whom they must respect.
"Princess Arielle is still royalty. She is still the daughter of a king. There is no way our king would treat her like a criminal. After all, the mistake was made by Prince Alexis, not Princess Arielle herself. It was clear Princess Arielle had been sacrificed by the South here. Maybe King Ronan feels sorry to see her being treated that way by her family," replied Kael, annoyed.
"But I am also a nobleman! Last year I slept in prison with William for two days! I only ate the food the warden gave me!" Lazarus protested by raising his voice.
"That was because you almost burned the food storage, Lazarus!" Kael replied loudly, making the other man freeze in his place. Lazarus batted his eyes quickly. He got his feet off the table and suddenly became more polite.
"Oh, really?" Lazarus asked. He was scared but he covered it with a chuckle so that Kael wouldn’t yell at him again.
Finally, the man stopped. He realized that what he was doing at that time was probably an accident. Lazarus was just having a small party with William to accompany some of the other knights who were on night vigil near the food storage.
They had forgotten about the bonfire that had not been put out. The fire spread quickly because that night was absolutely not snowing, and the snow on the ground had been removed. The king was so angry that it made Lazarus shiver when he thought back on it.
Ronan didn’t scream or yell at him. The man was just silent while looking at him intently behind his mask while his hands were tightly clenched at his sides. Thus, Lazarus and William spent two days and two nights in the dungeon as punishment.
"I think I should visit the palace to greet His Majesty the King," Lazarus said to Kael, then got up from the chair.
"His Majesty the King is not in the palace."
"Oh really? Where is he?"
"He’s on the way to the South," Kael replied curtly.
Lazarus sat back in his place and asked, "To the South? Nieverdell? Alone? What is it for?’"
"With William and a few others. But His Majesty the King went to the South in disguise. William and the others will pay a visit to the Nieverdell palace, and His Majesty will infiltrate the Capital City as usual. Maybe to meet some people there."
"William is going to meet King Hugo? What’s the matter?"
"To talk about marriage."
"Whoaaaaaaa! Who is that bastard going to marry? Was there a princess from Nieverdell that caught the playboy’s attention?"
Kael really hoped that someone would suddenly appear to explain everything to Lazarus at this time. He was too lazy to respond to all of Lazarus’ questions.
"Not William’s wedding. William is discussing His Majesty the King’s marriage to Princess Arielle. And-"
"WAAAATTT!!!!" shouted Lazarus in surprise. Lazarus’ body stopped moving and froze in place, then he shot a horror glance at Kael. He scratched his ear with his pinky finger and asked Kael to repeat what he just said because he still couldn’t believe what he just heard. "Please repeat what you just said."
Kael didn’t respond to Lazarus’ wish. He didn’t care if Lazarus whined for a repeat. He was too tired to speak.
"And Princess Arielle will soon be crowned the queen of Northendell, so I want you to keep your attitude towards Princess Arielle in check."
"Whoa, so cool..." Lazarus clutched his racing heart. "My heart skips a beat when I think of us having a queen. You know... Ronan has absolutely no interest in getting married. Whoa, what happened? How could that man change his mind?"
"For more details, you can ask William later."
Kael grabbed Lazarus by the collar and threw the man out of his room.
"Hey! But we’re not done talking yet!" Lazarus protested, not accepting Kael’s actions just now.
"I do not care! Go!" Kael retorted. "Go away. I don’t want to talk with you again."
