Chapter 151: Arielle And Ronan

Ronan re-explained the reason he had discussed with Priest Elis earlier, why Arielle and he couldn’t get married immediately. Since Arielle was a princess of a big kingdom, they should do the wedding properly. That’s why they needed to inform Arielle’s family in the South.

Ronan had to propose to the girl by giving a gift to the South, and then he would bring Arielle back to the North.

"Oh, do I have to go back South?" asked Arielle, feeling surprised by the knowledge.

The man let out a long sigh then rested his head on Arielle’s shoulder. "I really don’t want to make you return to the South."

Arielle patted Ronan’s mask lightly. The man grabbed Arielle’s hand and played with the girl’s fingers.

"If it’s necessary, I’m fine with it. I’ll use the opportunity to learn to be a more worthy woman to be your wife."

Ronan grabbed Arielle’s face.

"You are the best. The way you are now is more than I need," said the man making a blush appear on the princess’s cheeks.

Arielle cleared her throat. "I mean, at least I want to learn to be queen. I don’t know anything about being a royal. That way, I can learn what to do after I marry you."

Ronan pursed his lips together. Even so, Arielle couldn’t see it because of the mask.

"I promise I’ll pick you up soon enough. I won’t let you linger in the South alone."

"There’s still Tania who will be with me."

"Argh... just thinking about it makes me mad," Ronan growled in frustration.

Arielle lifted the man’s head from her shoulder then stood up. She walked slowly up the altar and looked out the window. Her heart was a little unwilling to leave the North, but she didn’t want to show it.

"When will I return to the South?" asked Arielle quietly.

"After I sent William down to South to talk about our marriage and hear what Nieverdell wants."

Arielle noticed the pile of snow that looked so clean and beautiful. Living here felt better than anywhere else, even though all she saw were piles of snow in the North. The scenery of Nieverdell was indeed more diverse, from the rivers, its colorful flowers to its green mountains. But now, all of it tasted bland.

There was no need to be sad. Ronan himself had promised to pick her up. Arielle just needed to be a good girl. Maybe she didn’t have to leave her room much to reduce the chances of seeing her siblings. Or... maybe, she should rehone her hiding skills if she accidentally met her siblings.

Ronan stood up to follow Arielle. The man stood under the altar, looking at Arielle’s small back with her white hair flowing beautifully.

"You don’t have to worry. I have a few people there to look after you."

Arielle turned and approached the man. "Hm-hm, thank you."

Ronan took off his mask, and Arielle immediately closed her eyes as the man approached her face. Because Arielle was standing on the altar, the girl’s body position was higher than Ronan’s.

Ronan wrapped his arms around the girl’s waist. While Arielle cupped Ronan’s face and kissed his lips. He thought he was going to get a wet kiss, but apparently, he only got a little smooch. And when he tried to open his mouth, the girl pulled away quickly and then laughed.

"I feel like we’re being naughty children by doing this in front of the altar where people pray," said Arielle, chuckling, making Ronan smile too.

"I like you naughty. Especially when in bed like last night," the man said, making Arielle gasp and quickly covering the man’s mouth to stop saying vulgar words.

"Okay, we have to stop now. We have to leave the Cathedral immediately," Arielle said as she pulled Ronan’s hand to come with her.

Ronan, who was dragged, laughed loudly and held Arielle’s hand, making the girl pull back. Ronan took the opportunity to blow Arielle’s ear, which he knew was very sensitive.

"Are you looking forward to doing something naughty again?" asked Ronan teasing Arielle, whose face was already bright red.

"Ronan! This is the blessing hall," said Arielle in a half-whisper. Even so, Ronan did not feel intimidated at all. The man put his mask back on and led Arielle out of the hall.

"Alright, let’s go straight to our room."

"Nope, you have to get back to work."

"Ouch," said the man, sadly reminded of the pile of work he had to finish.

A few days after Arielle and Ronan discussed their marriage with Priest Elis, the two met Priest Louise. Priest Elis’ father said the same thing. Namely, Ronan had to send an envoy to inform Nieverdell that Ronan would marry Arielle in the North.

William had departed with several knights and advisors.

That afternoon, Arielle was sitting alone in the library. Even though her reading speed was very slow but she diligently started to learn small things. She started reading some simple science books. And at night, she would use her spare time to read again and again.

Ronan was going somewhere. The man said he was going away for a few days for an errand at the border and it would take a few days to come back.

Arielle turned another page and slowly spelled out Northendell’s brief history. It was getting dark and Tania took the initiative to turn on the oil lamp so that Arielle could read comfortably. Tania who couldn’t read just accompanied Arielle while knitting a glove.

Suddenly Arielle closed her book, making Tania surprised.

"Have you finished reading it?" asked Tania who saw Arielle standing then straightening her clothes.

"Not yet, I’ll continue it later in the room. I want to see Sasha," the girl replied.

Tania chuckled, making Arielle furrow her brows.

"What’s wrong Tania?" asked Arielle not finding anything funny. The girl grabbed the oil lamp that had been lit by Tania and took Tania out of the library.

"It’s all right, Your Highness. It’s just that yesterday a servant on duty at the Colosseum told me about Sasha. So, yesterday, Lord Kael told Sasha to choose the type of sword that would be the first sword he would learn."
