Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 147: Ronan Is Annoyed
"I will still marry her," Ronan said firmly.
Priest Elis nodded in understanding. "I understand, Your Majesty. From the bottom of my heart, I also want Princess Arielle as the queen of the Northern people. However, Princess Arielle is a royal princess. So we should treat her like a royal princess, too, by doing all the wedding processions in the right way."
Ronan huffed in annoyance. He stood up and walked slowly towards the glass window of the Priest Elis’ room.
"Looks like you really don’t like Princess Arielle’s family," the older man said.
"I hate them," Ronan corrected, making Priest Elis laugh softly.
"Your Majesty, if I may give you an opinion. It’s best if we settle this matter with the South as soon as possible. Instead of forcing it to marry her without permission, it will only lead to trouble later on. What if the South claims that you forced Princess Arielle into marriage without the blessing of King Hugo?" Priest Elis asked.
He added, "People who do not know anything will easily be provoked by rumors circulating. It will be used by several parties to create a commotion. Your Majesty, please reconsider. This is all for the sake of Princess Arielle’s peace later."
Ronan noticed a pile of white snow in front of him. Several Cathedral students were clearing the road leading to the Cathedral from the snow. What Priest Elis said was true. If Ronan was truly committed to making Arielle happy, then he couldn’t allow a single threat to land on the girl.
Damn, that meant Ronan had to come face to face with King Hugo?
Ronan didn’t mind war at all. If King Hugo declared war on the North for taking in Arielle, then Ronan would accept the declaration with open arms. He would even go to the front row. It’s just that war was not a wise way to solve problems.
"I’ll think about it again. Does that mean Arielle and I can’t get married soon?"
Priest Elis shook his head slowly.
"Okay. Then is there any progress on your research?"
"Not yet, Your Majesty. If I found anything, I will see you as soon as possible."
"Okay, then get on with your job. And don’t forget to tell Priest Louise about my wedding. I’d like to hear his opinion on this."
"I’ll tell him right away, Your Majesty," replied Priest Elis solemnly.
Ronan grabbed his mask then put it back on. The man left Priest Elis’ room with mixed feelings. He was annoyed that his wedding to Arielle could not be carried out immediately.
***
Arielle had just left Priest Elis’ room. She walked down the aisles of the Cathedral and smiled politely as she passed Priest Jill, who was teaching some students to use heat mana in the Cathedral courtyard.
Arielle knew the way to the blessing hall quite well because she often came to visit. While climbing the stairs to the second floor, Arielle saw someone who made her giggle.
Sasha walked stealthily with his body pressed against the wall with a confused face. Arielle was quite amused to find Sasha not in his room but in the Cathedral. The girl approached slowly without making a sound. She descended the stairs and followed Sasha from behind.
Sasha didn’t seem to notice the princess’s presence. At a hallway cross, the boy poked his head to the side, causing Arielle to look suspiciously at him. The girl then patted Sasha, making the child scream loudly.
Clank. Clank. Clank!
The sound of metal falling to the floor echoed throughout the hall until several priests and apprentices around them turned their heads in surprise.
Arielle looked at the candle holder made of silver and some small silver ornaments scattered on the floor while Sasha stood frozen in his place. He didn’t dare to look back. As he prepared to make a run for it, Arielle gently touched the boy’s shoulder.
The girl crouched down to pick up the scattered ornaments one by one. Several cathedral apprentices immediately approached to help while Sasha was still standing frozen in place.
"Thank you," Arielle said to the apprentices. After helping Arielle, they lined up in front of Priest Jill to continue their studyi.
Arielle was now carrying many ornaments in her hands. She took a step then stopped in front of Sasha. The girl smiled gently, making Sasha feel guilty.
"Looks like I need some help. Would you mind accompanying me to put these back where they belong?" asked Arielle kindly.
Sasha seemed to have no choice. He took the candle holder and some ornaments from Arielle’s hands.
"Sorry," he mumbled sadly.
Arielle was still smiling, pretending not to hear the apology. She walked casually beside Sasha. When they arrived in an open room, Sasha gave all the things he was holding to Arielle.
"You don’t want to help me put them back down?"
Sasha shook his head quickly.
"Okay."
The girl entered the storage room. There was a maidservant who was cleaning many ornaments. Seeing Arielle come to visit, the woman immediately stood up to pay her respects.
"I-i-is there anything I can help you with, Your Highness?"
"Oh, I just wanted to return these."
"Those?" The maid looked confused. "Didn’t you just tell a boy to deliver them to you?"
"Huh?" Arielle batted her eyes, not understanding. She glanced behind the door and chuckled. "Oh yeah, right, I was planning to decorate my room. And then I thought my taste was so bad that it looked crowded. So I decided to return them back."
"Ah then, allow me to take them, Your Highness."
"Thank you very much for the help," Arielle said as she handed all the metal ornaments to the maid on duty.
"With pleasure, Your Highness."
After returning the metal ornament, Arielle came out. She came closer to Sasha, who was looking down at the edge of the wall.
"Hey, do you want to accompany me to pray?" asked Arielle kindly.
Sasha looked up for a moment, then looked down again.
"Okay," he answered halfheartedly.
