Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 138: Breaking The News To Tania
Arielle grabbed a wooden chair and dragged it near the fireplace. Two male servants were cleaning the body of the boy she had met earlier. At that time, Tania approached and grabbed Arielle’s hand.
"Princess, it seems you have to slow down on your habit of bringing something back into the palace," said the woman, dipping Arielle’s feet into a basin of warm water.
"Why? I- I just wanted to help the child, Tania. Poor boy, I found him sitting alone on a rock when it was snowing. The child must be very cold."
"I know, there must be a reason for you to do it. It’s just, I feel bad for His Majesty the King. We don’t know what that man was thinking. I don’t want King Ronan to think badly of you taking advantage of his kindness whenever you want to do something."
Arielle was silent. She had absolutely no intention of using King Ronan’s kindness for her benefit. Arielle didn’t know what Tania was thinking. However, it was just too much for her. After all, His Majesty the King himself didn’t mind it when they brought the child with them back to the palace. Arielle had also asked for his approval.
"Tania, I have received permission from King Ronan himself. He said I could help the child and return him home the next day. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Tania smiled then nodded. "If so, then I won’t have much to say anymore."
Arielle watched Tania carefully. After serving her two older siblings maybe the woman felt tired. Now Tania would serve her back. Arielle felt bad. She grabbed the towel that Tania had prepared and wiped her own feet.
"Let me help, Princess," said Tania trying to grab the towel from Arielle’s hand again.
The girl gently let go of Tania’s hand.
"Tania, I can do it myself. Sit here with me. We haven’t spoken for a few days," Arielle said softly.
Arielle got up then put away the basin of warm water. She grabbed Tania’s body to sit on the chair she had just occupied. The girl then grabbed another chair to put in front of Tania. After getting a position close to the fireplace, Arielle smiled broadly at her maid.
"You look restless, Tania."
The old woman grabbed her skirt and laughed nervously. "Princess, I don’t want my choice to disappoint you. That’s why I’ve been holding it in myself for the past few days not daring to tell you."
Arielle grabbed Tania’s hand and held it tightly.
"What’s wrong? I want you to talk as usual."
Tania turned her face towards the fireplace, watching the flames sway freely over the firewood.
"I... I don’t want to go back to the South," she muttered.
"Huh?"
Arielle did not hear Tania’s answer because the woman spoke very softly. Tania took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. She must immediately explain her wishes to the princess. She now preferred the North. After the visit of Prince Alexis and Princess Andrea, Tania had a bad feeling if they returned to the South.
Maybe, in the beginning, she still had hope of returning. She had many friends in the South. She didn’t even know the latest news from Matthew and his family. But her heart had changed. The South was now full of threats. Even though here she would still be a servant, at least, she never felt like she was on edge in the North.
Whenever Queen Rosalie or King Hugo called out to her, she would always get a new threat. Tania felt more relaxed and able to live her day like an ordinary person in the North. She also had already lived long enough. Her love story with Matthew had long been over, and she had kept it under wraps.
She would no longer care about Queen Rosalie’s threats about Matthew. The man also had a happy family... So she had asked King Ronan for a new life in the North.
"Princess... if you will allow me to be honest. My heart has changed. I no longer have any desire to return to the South. I am comfortable with the people of the North. I have also become good friends with some of the servants here."
Arielle refrained from smiling. What she felt had changed completely. Just like Tania, Arielle no longer wanted to return to the South. The girl bit her lip, doubting whether she should tell Tania about Ronan asking her to marry him. She knew sooner or later, Tania would know, but... was it okay to be this soon?
The girl gripped Tania’s hand tightly and smiled broadly. "Tania, we have the same feelings. My heart has been anchored in the North."
"Princess ...."
"Tania, I already said it."
Tania tilted her head. She did not understand the meaning of the princess’s words just now.
"What did you say, Your Highness?"
"I... have told my feelings to King Ronan."
"Oh..." Tania gasped in surprise. She covered her mouth that she felt her reaction was rude. Her eyes blinked quickly, watching Arielle with a look of disbelief. She had missed many things while serving the two siblings.
Arielle had confessed her feelings to the king, but how did the man respond? She hoped that King Ronan would not overreact to this. But wait, it seemed Tania’s worries were unfounded.
If Princess Arielle was rejected, then Princess Arielle and King Ronan wouldn’t possibly ride his horse together. Or, at the very least, Princess Arielle would come to her crying, right?
She watched the princess, carefully. The girl smiled gently as usual. But this was Arielle, it could be that the girl was feeling sad, but her sad feelings were kept tight, making her sweet smile a mere mask.
Tania shook her head when she felt she had assumed too much.
"Then? What is His Majesty the King’s answer?" asked Tania, quietly afraid of hurting the princess’s heart if she really was rejected.
The girl’s face turned red, making Tania’s body tense. Arielle released her hand from Tania. The girl smoothed the strands of her shiny white hair behind her ears. Now, Tania could clearly see her rosy cheeks.
"His Majesty the King ... said ... that ... he also loves me," answered Arielle shyly.
