Chapter 889: Chapter 888: Know What to Say and What Not to Say, Got It?

"Mr. Qin..." the manager interjected, "Should we protect the scene here?"

"Hmm... let’s not operate tonight." Qin Shaobai raised an eyebrow. "There are too many people here talking. Gather them up for a meeting and remind them to keep their lips tight. Since they’ve joined Ciaos, they should know what to say and what not to say, understand?"

"Understood."

"Also, let’s not blame the security guards, after all, Miss Qi was at fault first." Qin Shaobai deliberately emphasized the last four words as he looked at Qi Jingren.

"Thank you, Mr. Qin." The security guards immediately stood at attention.

Qi Jingren let out a soft "hmph."

"Let’s go, troublemaker." Qin Shaobai smiled at her with resignation, "Go find your Uncle Police."

Opposite Ciaos is a commercial building. The first five floors are a shopping mall, usually bustling with people.

Qin Shaobai made a call to the mall’s manager, stating he needed to use the mall’s surveillance room to check on something. The other party was very willing to cooperate.

There were so many people in the mall that it was impossible to discern who was suspicious through the surveillance footage.

Qin Shaobai’s deft fingers flew over the keyboard, trying to identify anyone with a suspicious demeanor in the surveillance video.

Beside him, Qi Jingren held her chin in her hand, gazing off into space with a lazy demeanor, apparently uninterested in such serious matters.

However, despite this, she did notice some small details.

"The bullet was shot horizontally into the wall, so the shooting location should be the top floor. But how did the shooter avoid so many people’s line of sight and carry a heavy shooting gun to the top floor?"

Qi Jingren looked out from the window at Ciaos opposite, aligning her hand in the direction of the surveillance room.

The range wasn’t very far. It looked like anyone with some shooting knowledge could aim at this position.

"Do you think it’s possible it was one of the mall staff?" Qin Shaobai furrowed his brow in thought.

"That’s quite reasonable; they’d know the surveillance blind spots and could carry a gun to the top floor."

Qin Shaobai stood up and went to the window to check out the distance between the two buildings.

"Alright, let’s go check the street surveillance."

Qin Shaobai went through all the available surveillance along the roadside and finally found the shooter in the camera across the street from the building.

"Finding him doesn’t really make a difference," Qi Jingren commented as she stared at the screen. "The shooting gesture is skilled, but in the middle of summer, doesn’t he feel hot covered up like a mummy?"

The screen only captured a side view of the person, completely wrapped in black cloth from head to toe, not a patch of skin exposed.

"About 178cm tall, 70kg, broad shoulders, has undergone specialized training, injured left hand, likely a man," Qin Shaobai summarized.

"Mr. Qin, don’t be deceived by appearances. I could dress up like that too," Qi Jingren remarked sarcastically.

"Okay, so, essentially no useful information. Hungry yet? Want to eat?" Qin Shaobai stood up from the chair, a bright smile on his face directed at her.

"If there’s nothing else, I’ll head back. You’re a busy man, Mr. Qin, I won’t bother you," Qi Jingren said, turning to leave.

"Hey." Qin Shaobai pulled her back from behind, patiently explaining, "I stood you up that day because of work, but you never answered my calls afterward."
