James face softened, though his gaze held firm. "Yes, I paid a price. But at least I lived my life on my terms. I wasn’t your puppet. I got the happiness and life I wanted then let’s talk about Edward who obeyed your wishes and lived the way you wanted him to, where’s he now? Six feets under the ground, laying forgotten below ."

With an angry shake of his head, Grandfather Lorenzo turned on his heel and strode off, the echo of his cane on the stone path fading into the distance.

James watched him go, his expression unreadable, though a small, sad smile touched his lips.

He gazed at the couple standing before the car happily before Ezekiel opened the car door in a gentlemanly manner , brimming with smile and pride as Yvette settled inside bearing the similar expression.

As he gazed at them , he couldn’t help but grin, feeling satisfied with himself and his choice. Decades ago, he was unable to protect his brother thus Edward left his dreams flaing and following the path their father had laid for him even before he was birthed.

He never had the chance to realize that there was more to life than he had experienced, life wasn’t just about guilibly following the path that had been laid down without considering your thoughts or caring for your happiness.

Life was more of about following your dreams, taking risks, living for yourself and your ambitions, creating memories, happy memories and families but unfortunately his late brother failed at everything, he never got the chance to experience true joy and the happiness that life was truly about.

In the past, he had failed to protect his late elder brother but Ezekiel, he would surely make sure he sticks to the path he wanted , he get the happiness and joy he deserves not some pathetic roles that make you lose yourself, that makes you unrecognizable even to you yourself.

Childrens had their life’s to live not being guilible to the path laid for them blindly by their families.

"I couldn’t protect Edward but I’ll make sure you get everything you ever wanted and deserves". James sighed as he curled his fist tightly with unwavering determination.

As Ezekiel and Yvette drove along the quiet country road to their way home with soft music humming from the CD player, filling the car with a warm, nostalgic tune.

Yvette’s phone suddenly rang, and she smiled as she checked the caller’s I’d and saw that it was one of her dearest friend, Olivia.

"Hey, Yvie!". Olivia answered brightly from the other end of the phone, her voice light and filled with excitement.

"Yvette ! Are you and Ezekiel free tonight?". She asked , her voice was filled with excitement as she continued. "Forget it, find a way and make yourself free, you mist not miss this because I’m hosting a little get-together dinner tonight outside. We’ll be out under the stars and enjoying the beautiful view and also the company if our loved ones. Everyone is already present and I’d love for you both to come!"

"Okay, madam". Yvette smiled and Olivia happily hung up on the phone.

After ending the call, Yvette turned to Ezekiel, her eyes bright. "Ollie’s hosting a date night tonight under the stars. Sounds beautiful, don’t you think?"

Ezekiel gave a small smile and immediately turned the car around. "Anything for a view like that."

Soon, they arrived at location Olivia had forwarded to her , a secluded field with a cozy, elegant tent, string lights glowing softly in the dark, beautiful evening light.

The sky stretched wide above them, a vast, inky canvas of stars just beginning to appear.

Indeed, everyone was already present and was happily chatting along , they seems to be teasing the new couple Olivia and Knox who were seated in each other’s embrace, both blushed from their words as they were all warmly bundled up against the evening chill.

Aside from the couple, Odiette, Leila and if course Eriq who would miss anything in the world to tease his shy pal on his new relationship.

"Finally, our guests of honor!". Olivia grinned as she rushed over immediately pulling Yvette into a tight hug before greeting Ezekiel. "I was starting to think you’d ditched me!"

"As if I’d miss this". Yvette replied, hugging her back. "And congratulations again!" She gave Ollie a playful nudge, watching as Knox’s affection gaze and eyes were glued on her every move.

"Alright, alright. Our girl’s shy already late". Leila teased laughing. "Who knew Ollie would be the first to settle down amongst all?"

"Do you remember that time I told her if Knox started answering her calls more than her boyfriend did, then we needed to have a different conversation". Odiette also added and everyone laughed.

Everyone laughed, adding their own playful jabs, much to ollie’s and Knox’s embarrassment.

"Hey, I thought you wouldn’t be able to make it since today’s a very important day". Eriq addressed Zeke quietly as he settled beside him . "I was just arriving now and told them not to but it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try either".

"I couldn’t stop Ollie but then you’re here". Knox waved his hands as he so added.

"Everyone in the world sure by now knows you’re a wife slave husband. Ollie’s literally the final decision maker". Eriq jabbed , his tone intentionally several tones higher than the one he used when talking just now and they all laughed.

"Did you guys invite anyone else?". She asked but everyone nodded negatively and they all turned around to see who the uninvited guest was.
