LOVE IN PARIS: Married To My Brother-in-law-Chapter 47: Finally, It’s Over
Manuel’s breath caught in his throat as he clicked on the post. The accompanying pictures were damning, photos from years ago, capturing undeniable intimate family moments between him and Yvette.
In one, they sat together at a formal family dinner, their hands interlocked under the table.
Another showed the two of them as teenagers, laughing, standing too close to be just friends.
The timestamp on the images was unmistakable: they had been together for years, long before Yvette’s rise to fame.
The internet exploded with shock.
"They were together for that long? Engaged even?! And then he cheated on her with Nadia and Nadia she even willingly became his mistress?"
"I can’t believe this. Yvette was the victim all along? This is disgusting."
"He didn’t just cheat, he threw away a lifelong relationship. How could anyone do that?"
"Then there’s something more between he and Nadia for him to discard his fiancé for her"
As if that weren’t enough for the chaos online, the anonymous account followed up with more damning evidence: a voicenote.
Manuel’s heart raced as he played it. It was unmistakably him, his voice smooth and measured, trying to convince Yvette to step down from her position.
"Yvette, you’ve been in the spotlight for long enough. Maybe it’s time to take a break, create some space for others. You’re in a good place now, and there are newer talents who could use the opportunities. Doing this even means solidifying my position as the newly elected president. Please do this for me , will you?. For the sake of us"
Yvette’s voice followed, quiet but understanding. "I understand, Manuel, you didn’t even have to apologize. I’ll take a step back for a while. You’re right, there are others who need their chance and also I can’t risk you loosing this position."
The revelation sent shockwaves across the internet. Now it was clear that Manuel had Yvette step down from her position and for the sake of her love she did as he wished and he, he handed over her projects and resources to Nadia who all thanks to that rose to stardom.
And even now when everything erupted on the social media, she was the one to take the blame without any complaint, the woman who had been wronged all along was her. Yvette.
The comment sections exploded with fury:
"So he made Yvette step down and then handed all her jobs to his new girlfriend? Are you kidding me?!"
"He used her loyalty and trust, and then discarded her like trash. This is the worst betrayal."
"I feel so bad for Yvette. She lost her career, her love, and now the world knows why."
But the onslaught didn’t end there, it was too early for the show to come to an end.
Jocelyn posted a cryptic message clearing the allegations that she was behind Yvette’s incidents on set pairing it up with several evidence and revealing the mastermind, Nadia.
The public found it even more outrageous and were determined to take Nadia down.
The final nail in the coffin came from Leila herself. She released a detailed account of the mountain incident which had been kept under wraps, providing irrefutable proof that Nadia was behind the dangerous stunts.
She also released a clip from the company’s anniversary few days ago of Nadia passing a vial to a waiter who under her instructions drugged Yvette’s drink and Yvette who saw through the trick exchanged the wine feeding her a taste of her medicine which thus led to the moment.
The evidence was overwhelming, and netizens reacted with fury.
"How could she do this? She’s a monster!" One user commented.
"Manuel is just as guilty for enabling her. They both deserve to be punished!" Another declared.
"She pushed Yvette off that mountain! She tried to kill her just to take her place, this is a murder attempt, Nadia should be punished by law!"
"Manuel and Nadia deserve to be in prison. They practically ruined Yvette’s life!"
"She’s a green tea bitch, all these while acting like a nobel elegant lady but behind it all is her twisted self. "
"She harmed Yvette and watched as the blame was pinned on Jocelyn who wasn’t even aware of the situation at that time even playing the part of a concerned colleague. I found her tweet back then about her calling everyone under Silverscreen Horizons Entertainment a one big family admirable but now I feel disgusted. She must apologize to Yvette and Jocelyn"
"I can’t believe I supported Nadia at the start! I feel sick knowing I ever defended that woman." .
Soon, demands for apologies flooded social media. People tagged Nadia, Manuel and even the company’s official account in droves, their pages swarmed with angry comments.
"Apologize to Yvette now! You owe her your entire career, you snake!"
"You both disgust me. Destroyed someone’s life and career for fame and money? You deserve everything that’s coming to you."
"Leave the industry! We don’t need people like you here!"
Amidst the several allegations and comments, a trending hashtag #ExposeTheFakeInnocent# began gaining traction with more evidence piling up against Nadia, several other actress whom she’s bullied in the past also came out to fuel the fire.
People were now starting to sympathize with Yvette and the tide was shifting.
As the truth spread like wildfire, Manuel found himself drowning in a flood of accusations. The public called him a two-timing manipulator, while Nadia was branded as a green tea bitch, a vicious, deceitful woman.
Manuel’s phone rang again. It was his PA. "Sir, we need to address this. The company is in chaos, and people are calling for your resignation."
Manuel’s clenched his jaw. "I know. Set up a press conference. We need to control the narrative." Though he said this, he knew the internet was a beast he could no longer contain, no amount of PR could spin the damage now.
In the hospital, Nadia’s smug demeanor evaporated as she scrolled through her phone, her face paling with each new revelation. Her manager entered the room, panic in her eyes.
"They’ve released everything," . She said, voice shaking with fear . "The evidence is damning. We’re finished."
She threw her phone across the room angrily, screaming in frustration. "This can’t be happening! I’ll make them pay!"
But the tide had already turned. Public opinion was firmly against her and Manuel and there was no escaping the consequences of their actions.
Back at home, Leila and Yvette sat in silence, watching as justice unfolded in real-time. Leila smiled and grabbed her hands excitedly.
"You did it," She whispered. "The truth is out."
Yvette nodded, tears of relief filling her eyes. "It’s over," She said softly. "Finally, it’s over."
