Love at First Sight? Mr. Harrison Has Been Scheming All Along-Chapter 256: "You’re Really Planning on Being a Stepfather?
"..."
Rory Linden fell silent.
She could guess that he had adjusted his work schedule for her.
She clearly hadn’t asked for this. He had done it of his own volition.
Rory Linden had wanted to explain something, but after composing herself, she said, "Thank you for telling me about Sean Harrison’s whereabouts. I’m about to operate on Auntie Rhodes, so I have to get busy."
"Go on, go on. Just pretend I never said any of this today."
Henry Lancaster regretted it the moment he said it. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
He regretted his impulsiveness.
’This is between Sean Harrison and Rory Linden. What does it have to do with me?’
He just felt that his friend was rich and capable, with plenty of women who loved him. He didn’t have to take this kind of crap!
About an hour later, Rory Linden managed to contact Sean Harrison.
After she explained the situation, he immediately said he would head straight to the hospital from the airport.
By the time Sean Harrison arrived at the hospital, it was already after five in the afternoon.
He was dressed in a full suit. His trousers were slightly wrinkled, likely from the long flight.
Even so, he easily drew the gazes of the doctors and nurses as he walked by.
When Rory Linden saw him approaching, she took out the surgical consent form.
After informing him of the surgical plan, risks, and expected outcome, she pulled a pen from her pocket and handed it to him. "You can ask me if you have any questions."
"Mm, I trust you."
Sean Harrison took the pen and, without hesitation, bent over to sign his name on the consent form.
"President Harrison, thank you for your trust. I will do my absolute best to complete the surgery." Rory Linden paused, then added, "The operation will be long, and it won’t be over until the early hours of the morning. After that, our doctors will be on duty in 24-hour shifts. You can go rest if you get tired."
Sean Harrison didn’t have much affection for Charlotte Rhodes to begin with.
She guessed he probably wouldn’t want to stay up all night waiting for the surgery to end.
"It’s fine. I’m not tired. I’ll wait for you."
Sean Harrison’s attitude was also firm.
He wasn’t waiting for Charlotte Rhodes. He was waiting for her.
"This is my job. You don’t have to stay up all night for it."
Rory Linden wanted to refuse him.
But Sean Harrison changed the subject. "If you’re here, where’s Leo?"
"...Sherry Walsh is with him."
As Rory Linden spoke, she hesitated for a moment but decided not to mention Ryan Sterling.
’In the end, Sherry will probably be the one with Leo tonight anyway,’ she thought.
Sean Harrison nodded. "Okay, go get busy. I’ll be right outside the operating room."
Rory Linden remembered what Henry Lancaster had just said and repeated, "The surgery is very long. You can rest in your car for a while and come back to wait around three o’clock."
"I’ll manage my own time."
Sean Harrison’s lips curved into a slight smile.
’This should count as proof that she still cares about me.’
Rory Linden changed her clothes and prepared to enter the operating room.
Evan Hollis was standing right at the entrance, his hands clasped together, and said nervously, "Dr. Linden, please, you must cure Auntie Rhodes. I believe you have the ability. I’m begging you, please save her."
Rory Linden watched Evan Hollis quietly.
Seeing his face etched with worry and anxiety, she momentarily wondered, ’Does this man have schizophrenia?’
’If he was really so worried about Charlotte Rhodes, why would he give her such potent drugs?’
However, Rory Linden suppressed all her internal questions and replied, "I will do everything in my power."
"Thank you, thank you."
Amidst Evan Hollis’s repeated thanks, Rory Linden walked into the operating room.

Meanwhile, Sherry Walsh, Ryan Sterling, and Noah Sterling had already had dinner with Leo.
It was just eight o’clock when they got home.
During dinner, Ryan Sterling had even suggested he and Leo build some Legos before bed.
But on the way back, Leo’s eyelids were already drooping.
He forced himself to stay awake to take a bath and change his clothes.
Usually, Leo needed Rory Linden to read to him before bed.
Today, he had played all day and was completely exhausted. After his bath and drying his hair, he fell asleep the moment he lay down on the bed.
In the living room, Sherry Walsh, Ryan Sterling, and Noah Sterling hadn’t left yet.
Noah Sterling watched Ryan Sterling quickly return from Leo’s bedroom and couldn’t help but remark, "If you had been half as obedient as him when you were little, your mom wouldn’t have been so worried sick all the time."
"How can you compare us?" Ryan Sterling said, looking displeased. "My mom was busy, but at least I had a mom. Not just a mom, but a dad, grandparents on both sides, and at the very least, an uncle like you."
"What do you mean ’at the very least’? If it weren’t for me, with all the trouble you caused as a kid, your mom would have beaten you to death."
"Yeah, yeah. It’s because when I misbehaved, I had you guys to back me up. Leo only has Ms. Rory. Does he have a choice but to be obedient?"
Ryan Sterling was getting angry as he spoke. "And this is all thanks to that ’good brother’ of yours, Sean Harrison. The things he does are inhumane."
Noah Sterling didn’t say anything in Sean Harrison’s defense.
To his surprise, his nephew’s take on the matter was actually spot-on.
Sherry Walsh couldn’t help but nod. "I didn’t expect your nephew to see things more clearly than you do. No wonder Rory’s attitude toward you is unusual."
"Really?"
Ryan Sterling was a little surprised.
From his perspective, Rory Linden’s attitude toward him was already terrible.
He hadn’t expected Sherry Walsh’s assessment to be "unusual."
"Yeah. The fact that she was willing to let you accompany us to the aquarium was already amazing. If it were someone like Miles Harrison, she definitely wouldn’t have agreed."
For some reason, Sherry Walsh’s thoughts drifted to that scumbag, Miles Harrison.
Ryan Sterling asked, "Who’s Miles Harrison? Ms. Rory’s ex-boyfriend?"
Sherry Walsh answered casually, "Sort of."
Ryan Sterling’s next question came quickly. "He has the same surname, Harrison. Is he related to Sean Harrison?"
Sherry Walsh had just said it offhandedly; she hadn’t expected Ryan Sterling to be so quick on the uptake!
She glanced at Noah Sterling, hoping he would help her out of this jam.
Noah Sterling looked at his disappointing nephew and asked, "Stop worrying about other people. Let me ask you something serious."
Ryan Sterling shot him a sidelong glance. "Go ahead."
He didn’t think his uncle was capable of asking anything serious.
"I’ve been watching you all day. Why are you so invested in this?"
Noah Sterling sighed and asked helplessly, "Are you really planning on becoming someone’s stepdad?"
