Lord of Myths: I Can Summon and Fuse Divine Powers.-Chapter 31: Battle in The Secret Laboratory. (3)
"Stop!" the priest ordered.
In a normal situation, the golem’s movement would have frozen in the air, halfway, and would never have reached its target.
However, for some reason, the blow had landed squarely.
Several tons of stone had accelerated and struck the old man, sending him flying.
While the priest had impressive amounts of Ka, the truth is that to develop an effective orgone, one must train their body.
Orgone doesn’t only depend on the amount of Ka but on the will that awakens when doing physical exercise and the effort employed.
That’s why most sorcerers or priests don’t have an extremely developed orgone even if their ka is abundant.
However, it’s not usually a problem for priests who can create barriers and protections.
But in this case, the priest hadn’t invoked any barrier, confident that his heka would defend him.
But the golem’s arm didn’t stop, striking full on and destroying part of his skull in the process.
And now, his body was embedded among the remains of a shelf he had gone through and wall debris.
"Surprising, I was aware that his lack of ka made him immune to heka, but I didn’t think that effect would transfer to an entity, could it have to do with ku?" the priest wondered quietly, in an inaudible whisper.
A golden flame began to cover his face, healing his wound.
"Still, I’m surprised by the damage he’s managed to do to me, even if this isn’t the main body, I didn’t think a large spirit would be enough to destroy me, perhaps the rewriting of its history made it more powerful, anyway, very promising," the old man continued, in his little personal chat.
Alioth was still impressed, but he snapped out of his trance quickly, he had to be careful, the priest was already recovering.
"What are you muttering about?" the white-haired young man asked.
The old man hunched forward, as he looked at Alioth with eyes full of hatred.
"I was wondering what kind of blasphemous ritual you performed to make that thing ignore my divine order!" the man roared, with an angry tremor in his voice.
Alioth raised an eyebrow, impressed by the priest’s incredible hypocrisy.
"You talk about blasphemy when you research and experiment with demons? Has old age made you completely insane?" Alioth responded with annoyance in his voice, but above all revulsion.
The man stood up as he began to emit a twisted laugh, devoid of all sanity.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA," the man laughed, throwing his head back as he covered his face with one hand. "What foolish words of yours! I’m only trying to bring my people the ultimate evolution, it’s not heresy, it’s progress!"
He affirmed, as if that were an absolute truth.
Alioth couldn’t help but feel chills hearing it, that guy was insane, there was no point reasoning with him.
"Whatever you say, [Emet], finish him," Alioth indicated.
The stone giant moved at an impressive speed, disproportionate to its weight and size.
At great speed, it threw a powerful punch toward the old man, however this time the priest blocked it easily with his hand.
On his arm now gleamed a gauntlet made of silver and gold mosaic, the main characteristics of crystallized keter.
"W-what?" the white-haired boy barely managed to say.
The ease with which [Emet]’s blow was blocked made Alioth pale.
"Pffft, you were really an idiot, don’t you think?" the old man mocked, with a smile. "Or rather I should say you were very arrogant. You should have taken advantage to hit me when I was wounded, but you preferred to question my morals, how pathetic."
Alioth looked away, embarrassed.
That comment had been like receiving a bucket of cold water.
He, who had decided to take advantage of others’ arrogance, had just been hit with pride.
Those words had irritated him, but he couldn’t say they were false.
It was true that he had gotten overconfident, or at least hadn’t been aggressive enough in combat.
That small victory had distracted him from the true war, and he had lost a valuable advantage.
’Stop thinking about that, I need to focus, I won’t let that mistake make me lose.’
Alioth’s lips curved into a smile at that moment.
"Heh, arrogance? I was just being considerate of someone your age," he commented, with a mocking tone.
As he did, he could see how Abzu was sliding along the ground, crawling slowly and approaching the priest.
The latter seemed to take the bait again, gritting his teeth with a growl.
His eyes burned with anger.
"Damn arrogant brat, for an abomination like you to dare say those things to me is simply... HERESY!" he shouted, as he threw a powerful punch at [Emet] with his other arm, surrounded by the same crystallized keter gauntlet.
The fist accelerated toward the Golem, but stopped halfway, interrupted by something.
"Huh?" the old man said, confused.
Abzu had stretched and grabbed the man’s arm by the elbow, preventing him from carrying out his attack.
Before he could even react, [Emet] extended its stone hand to the old man’s face, making it accelerate toward the ground.
The impact was so strong that the rock was cracked, though the old man was able to create a crystallized keter helmet in time.
"Damn it, those tricks won’t work on—"
The old man couldn’t finish his sentence, [Emet] had grabbed him by the leg and with superhuman strength slammed him against the floor.
The golem repeated this movement, swinging the old man through the air with speed and force, hitting him against the floor and wall while he emitted desperate screams.
Alioth knew that no matter how many keter armors he built, centrifugal force was capable of inflicting terrible damage on the body.
That force was something that couldn’t be defended against with armor, it was a lethal and ideal strategy to defeat him.
"Enjoy the dance," Alioth said with a smile, as he extended his hand.
There were still spirits in the room, and he wasn’t planning to just stand there doing nothing.
It was time to increase his forces.
