Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 84: Have a Drink with Him
This topic took an unexpected turn.
Stella Grant instinctively wanted to refuse, but the words were at the tip of her tongue. She suddenly remembered the message Forrest Keller sent today, pressed her lips together, and replied, "Yes, would you like to come over now?"
Silas Sutton gave a weary "Hmm," as if exhausted, "Is it convenient?"
Stella said, "It’s convenient."
Silas Sutton said, "I’ll be there in about an hour."
Stella asked, "What would you like to eat?"
Silas Sutton was silent for a few seconds before responding, "Something home-cooked, anything is fine."
After hanging up, Stella couldn’t help but be surprised.
She had never imagined that someone as invincible as Silas Sutton would show such a side.
After getting over the surprise, Stella turned and entered the kitchen.
Silas Sutton said he was fine with anything home-cooked, but Sue Woods and Ray Woods had just raided her supplies, leaving the fridge nearly empty.
At this point, going out to buy groceries or ordering on an app wasn’t realistic.
Stella sorted through what was left, piecing together two dishes and a soup.
When Silas Sutton knocked on the door, Stella was frying rice.
Shrimp with egg and cucumber.
With its color, aroma, and taste, you’d never know it was made from scraps.
Hearing the door, Stella turned off the heat and went to open it.
As the door opened, Silas Sutton stood outside in a white shirt and suit pants, holding a bottle of red wine, with a noticeable handprint on his left cheek.
The slap was clearly hard, as his left cheek was slightly swollen.
Stella looked up at him but quickly averted her eyes, moving aside to let him in, "President Sutton."
Silas Sutton’s expression was indifferent, with no excess emotions spilling out, as he stepped over the threshold. While changing shoes, he handed Stella the bottle, asking in a deep voice, "Do you have a decanter?"
Stella replied, "I do, but I haven’t used it in a while. I’ll look for it."
After speaking, Stella took the wine, turned, and crouched by the TV cabinet to search.
She rarely drank, and the only decanter she owned was a gift from a raffle that Sue Woods had won at the downstairs supermarket. She believed it was stored here but wasn’t too sure.
After changing into slippers, Silas Sutton looked up, catching sight of Stella’s waist peeking out as she reached for the cabinet.
Her skin was very fair, and her waist was slender.
Silas Sutton narrowed his long eyes, suddenly recalling the feel of a hand on it.
Delicate, soft, barely fitting within the palm.
While Silas Sutton ruminated, Stella stood up with the found decanter.
Seeing this, Silas adjusted his gaze, the dark currents in his eyes settling into calm.
Stella asked, "President Sutton, how long does the wine need to breathe?"
Silas Sutton walked forward, "Half an hour is enough."
Stella nodded, rinsed the decanter, and poured a third of the wine in.
With the pre-meal preparations complete, Stella went into the kitchen to bring out the dishes.
The red wine needed to breathe, but the dishes did not; in fact, leaving them too long might make them cold.
Perhaps owing to the earlier call, Stella’s guard towards Silas Sutton was considerably down tonight, "President Sutton, would you like to wait for the wine to breathe before eating, or start now?" 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Silas Sutton rolled his sleeves to his elbows, "Now, I’ll just wash my hands first."
After saying that, he strode towards the washroom.
A moment later, Silas Sutton returned from washing his hands, sat at the dinner table, and eyed the bowl of rice and stir-fried dish before him, looking up at Stella, "You’re not eating?"
Stella spoke truthfully, "I’ve already eaten."
Silas Sutton picked up his chopsticks, grabbing a piece of stir-fried meat and saying as he ate, "Forgot, I heard from Forrest Keller that you and your boyfriend have already eaten."
Stella, "..."
Silas Sutton finished the meal in under ten minutes, and afterward, as Stella tidied up the table, he went to the window for a smoke.
Twenty minutes passed after Stella had cleaned the table and washed the dishes.
Standing at the window with his hands in his pockets, Silas Sutton seemed absorbed in the view. As he heard footsteps approaching from behind, he asked in a low voice, "Will you join me for a drink?"
