Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 83: Trap or Accident
This voice was not unfamiliar to Stella Grant.
She had just heard it in Silas Sutton’s office today.
It was Master Sutton.
At this, Stella Grant pressed her lips into a straight line, unsure of what was happening on the other end, so she didn’t dare to speak further.
She didn’t dare speak, nor hang up the phone.
Stella Grant blatantly ’eavesdropped’.
After Master Sutton finished speaking, probably annoyed by Silas Sutton’s lack of response, he asked with suppressed anger, "I’ll ask you once today, do you plan to marry Charlotte Shelby or not?!!"
Silas Sutton’s voice was lazy and indifferent, "Not marrying."
Master Sutton was on the brink of rage, "Not marrying? I’m telling you, you will marry her whether you want to or not. Do you know how much benefit the union between the Shelby Family and the Sutton Family can bring?"
Silas Sutton replied mockingly, "I don’t know, and I don’t want to know."
Master Sutton exclaimed, "Silas Sutton!!"
Silas Sutton sneered, "No need to be so angry with me. I’m not the only grandson in the Sutton Family. My uncle has two sons, both older than me. In terms of seniority, this union should not fall to me."
Hearing Silas Sutton’s words, Master Sutton was thoroughly enraged, "But you are currently the head of the Sutton Family!"
Silas Sutton mocked, "Should I abdicate and let someone else take over then?"
Stella Grant couldn’t see what was happening over there, but simply listening to this intense dialogue was enough to make her feel apprehensive.
For some reason, Stella suddenly recalled what Sue Woods had previously told her.
Sue Woods said that years ago, there was a kidnapping incident involving the Sutton Family. What happened during that kidnapping is unclear, but after their rescue, some of the Sutton Family grandchildren died, some went insane, some became ill, and the only one who remained normal was Silas Sutton...
Stella Grant was deep in thought when suddenly Master Sutton cursed, "You should have died in that kidnapping incident!!"
Silas Sutton coldly sneered, "Those who should have died didn’t, those who shouldn’t have died did. Those who should have gone insane didn’t, those who shouldn’t have gone insane did. It seems heaven doesn’t favor the Sutton Family at all."
After Silas Sutton spoke, there was a crisp ’slap’ sound from the other end of the phone.
Stella Grant inhaled through the phone, instinctively clutching the phone tightly.
After a long time, Silas Sutton’s deep and seemingly amused voice sounded, "Done hitting? If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going."
Master Sutton was trembling with anger, "Get lost, get out of here, now!"
Stella Grant listened to a car engine start up from the phone after some time had passed.
Stella Grant pressed her lips together, cautiously speaking, "President Sutton?"
There was no response from Silas Sutton.
Stella paused and spoke again, "President Sutton, can you hear me?"
Accompanied by the sound of a lighter igniting a cigarette, Silas Sutton replied in a low voice, "Hmm."
Stella Grant had been waiting for Silas Sutton to respond and when he finally did, she suddenly didn’t know what to say.
After a long pause, Stella smiled slightly and asked, "President Sutton, is there something you need from me?"
Silas Sutton’s voice was indifferent, carrying a hint of suspicion, "Did I call you?"
Stella was taken aback, and her mind quickly realized something.
Could it be that Silas Sutton accidentally hit the dial button?
Thinking of this, Stella suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.
If Silas Sutton really had accidentally hit the dial button, then she had been eavesdropping on this call for quite a while...
Stella was pondering how to explain when suddenly Silas Sutton’s deep voice came through, "Do you have dinner? I haven’t eaten yet, I’m hungry."
