Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 44: Identity Theft
Stella couldn’t wrap her head around how Sue’s stakeout turned into a one-day tour of the police station.
In front of Silas, she couldn’t ask for details. She just said ’mm-hmm’ and hurriedly hung up the phone.
After disconnecting, Stella put away her phone and looked at Silas, "President Sutton, do you have anything else here? I’ve got a minor issue on my side. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way."
Silas heard Stella’s call crystal clear just now.
Although he didn’t know what the person on the other end said, he knew who Sue was.
Silas’s thin lips curved slightly, "Go ahead."
Stella, "Alright, President Sutton, I won’t keep bothering you then."
Silas was amused by her formalities, "Stella, seriously, not considering coming to the Sutton Group?"
Stella solemnly said, "Considering it. The premise is that the salary matches my skills. And also..."
Stella hesitated, Silas completed her sentence, "And also, I can’t bother you."
The word ’bother’ was fitting.
But Stella didn’t dare utter a sound.
Seeing her silence, Silas knew he’d hit the nail on the head, and he chuckled softly, "Go take care of your business first."
Stella, "Goodbye, President Sutton."
With that, Stella quickly turned and walked away without lingering.
Rescuing someone is like putting out a fire, she was afraid Silas would chat more.
Leaving the Sutton Group, Stella got in the car, placed the signed contract down, and sped toward the police station.
An hour later, the car arrived at the station.
Stella parked the car, got out, and entered the lobby.
Sue was sitting in the lobby just then, and upon seeing Stella, she puckered her lips, almost bursting into tears.
Seeing this, Stella stepped quickly in her high heels to Sue, bent down, and asked, "What’s going on?"
Sue looked up, tearfully, "I staked out the wrong spot."
Stella raised an eyebrow, "??"
Sue, "My colleague told me to stake out Kyle, but I ended up staking out Ben."
Stella furrowed her brows slightly at the news.
If it were simply a stakeout done wrong, it wouldn’t matter much. The other party would generally not notice, or even if they did, she hadn’t done anything excessive to be sent to the police station.
Unless...
Stella asked, "What did you do?"
Faced with Stella’s questioning, Sue went from tearless to tearful, crying like a pear blossom bathed in rain, "I splashed his car with paint."
Stella felt a pang in her heart, "Which car?"
Sue, "Purosangue."
Stella, "..."
A Ferrari model, a full purchase is over five million.
With Sue’s words, both looked away, silent.
Just then, from not far away, a teasing voice rang out, "I’m willing to settle privately. This car I picked up yesterday, all paperwork is here. Seeing she’s a young girl, I’ll give her a discount, four million, and it’s hers."
Hearing the voice, Stella turned around, but couldn’t see the man’s face, only the back of his head.
From the man’s fashion taste, he seemed rather... carefree.
Today, Ben wore a blue floral short sleeve and red floral shorts.
From top to bottom, the theme was: leisure.
With Ben’s words, the policeman sitting in front of him looked troubled, "Mr. Lawson, isn’t this difficult for a young girl? Four million, she’s a fashion magazine editor-in-chief..."
The policeman was nearly fifty, wholeheartedly considering the ’people.’
After speaking, Ben jibed, "Officer Wade, don’t tell me you want me to swallow this loss?"
Policeman: "Certainly not, I’m just suggesting if there’s another way, like repairing..."
The policeman was a good one, trying his best to relieve Sue’s stress.
But Ben was clearly unwilling to relent, his face full of sarcasm, "Officer..."
Ben had just started to say ’Officer,’ didn’t complete ’Officer Wade,’ when a shadow fell beside him.
Ben instinctively turned his head, and seeing Stella beside him, raised his eyebrow in surprise, "What are you doing here?"
Stella wondered why Ben knew her, puzzled, "Do you know me?"
Looking into Stella’s puzzled eyes, Ben pinched his own leg hard.
Accidentally spilled the beans.
Under Stella’s curious gaze, Ben’s lips tugged slightly, bracing himself to act calm, "You don’t know me? Phoebe, does that ring a bell?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Stella’s expression changed from puzzled to delightful, "It’s you?"
