Legendary Oops System-Chapter 34: Nova’s State 2
The Xyber Hospital.
It was another large skyscraper in the first year area, one easy to find as it was in a completely different area, and was the only building in a mile radius.
A couple students could be seen stepping out, while a couple others were being helped into it, by their friends, or crawling in, covered in blood.
Amongst one of those entering was a young man with snowy white hair, his eyes turning from his watch to look at the building.
This was White and wordlessly, he resumed his steps, entering through the large revolving glass door.
On stepping in, there were staff with moving beds prepared, helping those who were injured to be quickly shifted to the operation rooms.
White however ignored them entirely, walking straight to the end of hall where a single lady stood, typing on a computer.
There were two more computers around but it was vacant.
She could see his steps, and raised her head up, a bit of surprise crossing through her eyes on the sight of him.
’He’s good-looking.’
"Hello"
He greeted with a warm smile on arriving and her face lit.
"Hi. What can I help you with?"
"I just want to come check up on the state of a student who got brought here, yesterday."
He said and her expression furrowed.
"Yesterday. I’m pretty sure majority of the injured students were cured and sent back in a maximum of five hours."
"Are you saying she’s been here an entire day?"
She asked doubtfully and White replied.
"Well, she missed her morning class and the evening classes, and I was told she was last brought here. Made me think checking this place out could help."
"Oh? That makes sense then. What’s her name again?"
She asked reaching for her keyboard, and typing.
White gave her everything she asked from him, and soon enough his reply came.
"My apologies. You’re right. Novaelia Limitless. Position: Vacant."
"She’s still here...which is unusual." She mused and White’s heart unconsciously clenched though his expression remained unchanging.
"Can I check on her?"
He asked and she turned asking.
"Students being healed are not allowed to meet with any other students, for them doing more nefarious things. Besides they’ll usually be out in a maximum of five hours. You can wait till then."
"But since she’s been here twenty four hours, I guess that creates an exception. Still, I would need to confirm your relationship with her."
She said.
"I’m her twin brother."
White replied and light gleamed in her eyes.
She typed on her keyboard,
"What’s your name?"
"White Sinclaw."
"That’s correct. White Sinclaw. Possible twin brother."
She said reading her files and White unconsciously exhaled.
He had remembered the excuse she had used back then and had guessed Xtremcyber would have still kept that explanation, even if it seemed unbelievable.
"Here."
She said, passing him a purple card.
"Take one of the teleporters. You’ll be teleported right to her level. Please obey the instructions of the one in charge of her health. Any physical action towards her health instructor will result in you getting banned from Xcyber hospital."
"You know how dangerous getting cut off from medical attention can be in this academy, don’t you?"
She asked and he nodded.
"Thank you."
"It’s my pleasure."
She responded watching him leave for one of the teleporter and disappearing.
She turned back to her monitor after, where two images were clearly displayed.
"Indeed quite the pair."
The teleportation was fast, done in five seconds and when White opened his eyes, he found himself before a large white blank room, with the only object being what laid at the end of the hall.
It was that of a simple white desk and chair on which sat a lady in a doctor’s cloth, flickering around with a wall of holographic screens.
She noticed his presence and raised her head up, looking at him.
She could see his purple card and said.
"White Sinclaw?"
It took White a bit of surprise at how she knew his name, but they were officials and he responded.
"Yes, I am."
"Very good." She said rising to her feet.
"I was just thinking of sending a summon for you."
"Is there something you need me for?"
He asked stepping towards her.
"Yes, there is. Here for Nova aren’t you?" She asked and he watched her walk towards the end of the white hall, her hands reaching out and pressing tightly against the wall.
Three seconds of silence before blue runic lines lit up over the wall and White watched as they quietly faded out of reality.
That led to the reveal of what laid behind the wall and his heartbeat increased by a thump.
It was a simple health room and there was someone laying asleep on the bed.
It was of course none other than Nova.
His eyes trailed towards her leg and hands, the part Rukun said he had cleaved off, but, there was nothing.
Not even a tiny mark or scar was even on her body.
"What’d you think?"
The health instructor asked and White replied.
"She looks...healthy."
She truly did look healthy, just maybe asleep.
"She does physically. I was able to heal her up relatively perfectly. That only took an hour."
"Then why isn’t she out yet?"
"Because she suffered more than a simple physical injury." She explained.
"She was wounded psychologically. Whoever she fought, didn’t just scar her around her body. He dealt a bad damage in here."
She said pointing a hand at Nova’s head.
"Her brain was punctured through by a blade that roughly severed off the part of her brain responsible for consciousness, and she might have been spoken words that keeps her locked up in her head, seemingly having no reason to come out of her unconsciousness."
"Are you trying to say she’s choosing to remain unconscious because of a cut in her brain?"
"I healed the cut, perfectly just like I did her body. The better framing is, she’s choosing to remain unconscious cause she no longer sees any reason to live."
