Chapter 33: Nova’s State 1

His ears rang from her words.

Even in his past life, he had not heard of that before.

Humans were humans, there was no such thing as a different species or whatever. At least not like humans who took on completely wild differences.

Yet looking at the woman, her pink eyes simply bubbled around, glowing with light.

It didn’t seem that she was bluffing at all, only an amused light as her gaze crossed through the majority of students.

’Is she just joking?’

White muttered in quiet confusion, but then the panel flashed.

[They’re indeed a different species of humans amongst you?]

’What the? For real!?’

[Yes. Now that she mentions it, I finally understand. I felt something weird about someone you met recently, but with her explanation I understand. I thought she was some half-human, half-supernatural or something, but I understand now. She’s an entirely different species of humans.]

’I met with them?’

’Who’s that? Rukun Malevolent?’

White asked.

[No. Not him. He’s an ordinary human. Will be better if you eventually figure the person out yourself.]

The system said to him, and White hummed.

As expected, as she went on to know it, the instructor continued with her explanation and he listened with rapt attention.

7 hours later...

CREAAAK!

The sound of bone creaking echoed as White stepped out of the hall, hands on his back.

Being dragged into her mind realm left them all standing and they stood for 7 straight hours.

When she placed them back in their body, he felt as if his waist was about to break from the strain.

He might be an awakener, but even then he wasn’t free from exhaustion of standing in one place for 7 hours straight.

He felt a tinge of hunger from his stomach, but he wasn’t in the mood to eat.

He was dead tired, his head throbbing from the crazy amount of information and wanted nothing more but to snore off.

There was no mission notification after the class, so he could guess classes were over today.

With a tired exhaustion in his steps, White dragged himself to the direction of his dorm, a distance that took him longer, 35 minutes to finish.

When he got to the elevator, he was dead exhausted, and he almost collapsed on the ground, though a hand grabbed at his shoulder before he could.

He turned his gaze up, and there he found a pair of pink eyes staring down at him.

"You?"

He said tiredly, remembering her face but not having enough energy to finish a question.

"You look like you’re about to fall down dead."

She claimed.

It was none other than his neighbour.

The girl with the embedded pink crystal on her forehead.

"I’m fine."

White claimed, yanking his shoulder off her grasp.

She was a violent person.

When he had not told her the answer to her question, she had lunged for his neck.

He sensed the air around and had unconsciously activated Limitless Interval, allowing him to block the attack, or he would have been embedded against the wall with force.

A person who thinks they’re somehow entitled to attack any other person just because they feel like it, like that, he didn’t want anything to do with them.

"Your name is White, right?"

She asked, though White didn’t respond, reaching for his door knob and swiping the card to go in.

"I got it from a girl. A girl called Nova."

Beep!

The door made a successful beeping sound and White grabbed the knob.

"She was whispering that while drowning in her blood yesterday night."

Her words made him pause for a second.

"I watched her fight with the Malevolent boy. Noticed that she used Limitless and I recognized your defense ability to be Limitless Interval."

"Limitless people are rare, I could only guess it was your name she was calling."

"Did she attend class this morning?"

White asked, and her lips curved in amusement.

"And how am I supposed to know that. I just dropped her off at the hospital, and left."

"You do!"

White said, whispering, slowly turning his eyes to her and the sight of them made her flinch.

His eyes had changed.

From dark to a deep crimson with a serpentine pitch dark in their center, an incredibly almost insane bloodlust radiating from his eyes.

It was like looking in the eyes of an incredibly powerful mad man.

"I... I..."

She tried to speak, but the words kept dying in her throat.

Only when White blinked and the new eyes could suddenly fade was she able to snap out of it and respond.

"I did try to look around for her in class General Cyber class this morning, but... I couldn’t find her. I think she’s still in the hospital. Her injuries were really bad after all."

She mused, and White hummed.

His hand pushing the knob bumped it back, slamming it shut and he walked past her, going back into the elevator.

DIIIING!

The elevator beeped and the door shut close, leaving only her in the hall.

She stared at the elevator blankly for a while, her eyes furrowed.

"What was that change? An ability?"

"Why does it seem like a new consciousness taking over him?"
