Legendary Oops System-Chapter 19: Xtremecyber Academy
The teleportation feeling was familiar to him, but on stepping out.
He found himself descending downwards from the sky and then,
SPLASH!
The sound of water splashing echoed as White landed face-first.
GASSPS!
A gasp escaped his lips as he tore his head out, looking around him. The scene made him speechless.
All around him were bodies floating on the water’s surface.
There were other young men like him, except they were all butt-naked and most of them were unconscious.
"The Life Cleansing Pool gives you a Rebirth."
The words echoed from above, and White looked up, noticing a man in blue staring down at them.
"It’ll rejuvenate all bodily harm, external and internal, strengthen your awakening cells, and speed turnover of awakening cells, replacing your cellular cells, and solidifying your identity as an awakener."
"It also cures the Mind’s weariness, and some may be lucky enough to even have their first awakening break through, after this."
He explained, though the number of those listening was quite small, barely 10 of them were awake.
"A life cleaning serum costs 1,000 dollars for a test tube, and you all get to swim in an entire pool of it for ten minutes."
"Consider that as congratulations from us, Xtremecybers, for passing the test."
He ended, a grin lingering at the corner of his lips as his green eyes stared directly at White for a moment, before turning to the others who were still awake.
’A Life Cleansing Pool?’
White thought in quiet shock, turning to the liquid around him.
It was green in colour, glittering with light.
He knew what it was, and to even think he was in a pool of it was shocking enough.
But something else surprised him.
[Host has been discovered to be in the presence of a Rare Grade Evolution Serum]
[Requesting permission to boost absorbing speed to further Host’s Awakening Evolution.]
It said, and without a shred of doubt, White answered.
’Permission granted’
The second he said those words, his body suddenly felt as if it weighed a thousand tons, and he found himself sinking to the depth of the pool.
Eyes widened in shock as he tried to swim back up to breathe, but his muscles stiffened up, as if the control of it had been hijacked from him.
’What are you doing?’
[Do not fret, Host.]
[I’m simply making sure you can absorb as much as possible.]
[Go ahead and take a breath. Scream if you want. You might suffocate to unconsciousness, but your heart won’t stop beating, so you won’t die.]
It said, words that White didn’t exactly find reassuring.
All he could do in the end was remain quiet, lying on the floor of the pool and waiting quietly.
He needed to last ten minutes in this liquid, but he failed.
Barely 3 minutes later, something seemed to hit his head from within, breaking his concentration.
Immediately, his mouth and nose opened up, and the serum began rushing into his mouth.
Bubbles were made, but were also mysteriously drawn back in before they could alert anyone.
White remained there, drowning until eventually his consciousness went to darkness.
But only for moments, as another force slammed into his brain, jerking him awake only for the sensation of drowning to start all over again.
This continued for five times straight before, finally, he fell unconscious one last time and floated back up.
[Congratulations.]
[All Human Cells have been successfully replaced with Awakener Cells!]
[New Benefits Unlocked!]
"Your ten minutes are over."
The words of the blue-uniformed instructor echoed to them, and in the next moment, each of the students, now already awake, all began swimming to shore.
It was green grass, upon which stood three large teleporters.
Though they were butt-naked, each of them was surprisingly reserved about it, probably because they were all males anyway.
But still, White found it off-putting.
"The teleporter will take you to the Welcoming Room. There you’ll get your Xyber Devices, Uniforms, and the Card Keys for your new dorm."
"Step on the teleporter, 3 people each."
He ordered, and one by one they began to step on it.
White didn’t rush, allowing everyone to take their chance until, coincidentally, he was the last remaining.
As he walked forward towards the teleporter, he paused from the call.
"You?"
The man called out, and White turned to him.
"What’s your name?"
The question led to his eyebrows creasing, but he eventually replied.
"I’m White."
"White, huh?"
The man mused quietly, a smirk on his face.
White didn’t bother much after that, stepping onto the teleporter.
He disappeared, leaving only the instructor.
"Out of 370 participants of the test, 150 were able to pass, and only 5 of them passed without killing a fellow test taker. 4 of them were girls, and he’s the only male."
"Seems like the academy might have failed to truly test him."
He mused to himself, chuckling slightly before he became a beam of golden light that dispersed into the distance.
---
"White Sinclaw...Is that right?"
The green-haired man at the counter asked, and White nodded.
"That’s correct."
"Very well. Here’s your bag." He said, passing a fairly large backpack to White.
"It contains your cyber device and some other stuff you’ll need to navigate through the academy."
"This is your key card."
Saying that he brought out a green colored card and passed it to White.
He took it, not really noticing anything special about it.
"It has an electromagnetic force direction that will pull you right to the door of your dorm room, once you get outside. Also, don’t lose it!"
He said, and White nodded, before turning to the side, reaching for the exit along with the rest of the students.
They were already dressed up in a simple green shirt and trousers, each heading towards the teleporter at the end of the hall.
White stood upon it, and a blinding green light flashed, taking him along with it.
---
STEP
STEP
The clear sound of a leg stepping on glass echoed out as green light descended from the sky, leaving a white-haired boy standing there.
The ray of light had been blinding, leading to White closing his eyes, but soon, he felt his eyes rapidly adapting, and he opened them, looking forward.
The sight before him made his jaw drop to the ground, his mind growing numb.
"This...this is the Xtremecyber Academy!?"
