Legendary Oops System-Chapter 14: Xtremecyber’s True Goal
"A Limitless Girl. It’s not every day you see one of those."
The words were uttered by a young man with long crimson hair, sitting down lazily on a tree branch.
In his right hand was a red apple-like fruit, which he chewed on, leaving blood-like liquid trailing down his red lips.
His other hand was outstretched beneath him, and there, one could see Nova, fighting for her life.
In both her hands were the astral blades, which she cleaved forward through the air.
At first, it seemed like she was just slashing randomly around her, as nothing was in sight.
But if one looked closer, they would see that with every slash, a red light burst through the air, the sound of metal crashing together echoing loudly.
"Tch,"
A groan left Nova’s bloody lips, as a red cut suddenly appeared by the side of her face, blood spraying out and blinding her right eye.
Her ears twitched, and she dodged to the side, strands of her white hair severed off.
She jumped up a moment later, cleaving backwards.
CLANG!
Once more, the sound of metal clashing echoed out, as her blade clashed against a barely visible 30-centimeter-long red blade.
BOOOOM!
An explosion followed as she lost control of her blade and was blown backward, rolling a couple of meters before roughly slamming into a tree.
PUUCHI!
"Argh!"
A groan escaped her lips as her right shoulder was roughly pinned to the tree behind her.
Her teeth ground together in pain, and she reached her hands to her shoulder.
There was seemingly nothing, yet she seemed to grab onto something, tearing it out before roughly flinging it to the side, but it had barely been a moment later when,
PUUCHI!
PUUCHI!
The sound of flesh being pierced echoed twice, and both of her palms slammed hard into the ground, pinned down by the invisible blade.
She tried to snap them out, but,
BOOOOM!
The sound of the ground shaking echoed, and she turned forward to find him.
The crimson-haired boy, throwing away the half-eaten apple and wiping the crimson liquid off his lips before turning to her.
"You might be a Limitless girl, but it’s obvious you’re not a true one. You can’t even stop your own Limitless energy from exploding in your hands."
"You’re most likely an Outcast."
"Tsk. Just when I thought, I found someone on my potential level..."
He said, clicking his tongue in disappointment.
"You evil bastard."
Nova cursed through clenched teeth.
She had done nothing to him.
After killing off the beast, she had decided to return to help White, only to be blocked by this guy.
He had fought her over nothing, and what was worse was that he was overwhelmingly powerful, at least for someone who was supposed to be a new awakener.
"I’m not an evil bastard. I’m a Malevolent Boy."
He answered, but seeing her blank expression made him sigh exasperatedly.
"You probably have no idea what that is, do you?"
"There are the Big Four."
"The Limitless Bloodline, proud, overbearing bastards."
"And then, there are we, Malevolent Bloodline. So called Psychopathic mongrels."
"Our bloodline has been feuding for centuries now. It’s only natural for us to fight at first sight."
"Though now that you’re an outcast, it makes me wonder if you fit the criteria. You’re not a true Limitless Girl, after all."
He said, walking towards her leisurely.
"Good. I don’t fit the criteria of a Limitless Girl, which does not qualify me for your ancient feuds with the Limitless bloodline."
"Now, can I go?"
Nova asked exasperatedly as the young man arrived before her.
Then he raised his hands forward, and she watched the space around his palm squirm as if it were on fire.
"An Outcast like you is a stain to the Limitless Bloodline. I’ll do them a favor and wipe you out."
He said, but Nova grinned mockingly instead.
"Yeah, wipe me out and get disqualified from the test."
"I wonder what your clan will do to you when they see that their mission for you to join Xtremecybers failed because you killed an unimportant outcast."
"Are you foolish?"
He asked, turning his head sideways to look at her in disbelief.
"Huh?"
"You think beasts are the only way to earn points? Have you looked at the genius ranking?"
He asked, and Nova unconsciously turned to her wrist.
Twisting slightly, she could see the interface, where the first position was displayed.
[1st] [Inumaki Horaga - 310 Points]
"3...310 points!?"
Nova unconsciously screamed out in disbelief.
It’s been barely five hours since the test started, and someone already has 310 Points!?
That doesn’t make any sense.
"Don’t tell me you think he got that from simply killing some dumb beasts?"
He said with a scoff, and her eyes furrowed before widening in realization.
"He...He’s killing people."
"Of course. A human life rewards a minimum of 50 points."
He claimed, leaving Nova stunned.
"They’re allowing us to kill each other?"
"They’re not just allowing it. If beasts give a minimum of 10 points but a human gives 50, then isn’t it clear that what Xtremecybers really want us to do is kill each other?"
"This isn’t a game of just filling up to 1,000 points. It’s a survival of the strongest."
"I won’t be losing anything from killing you. In fact, I’ll gain 50 points instead."
He said, and the air before his palms squirmed heavily.
The blades were normally invisible. But this time, he poured so much energy into it that a blood-red halo appeared in the air, revealing the one-meter blade pointed directly at her forehead.
Immediately, she reacted, trying to force out the blade that pinned her palms down, but it was like it had suddenly weighed hundreds of tons, leaving her pinned to the ground.
"Be gone, Outcast."
’No, no, no...’
BAAAAAAANG!
