Legendary Oops System-Chapter 12: First Use of Limitless
WHIP
The sound of something slicing through the air echoed as a foot slammed hard onto the ground before jumping high into the air.
White was thrown high into the air, a tongue with a tip pointed like a sharp blade, narrowly grazing the sole of his feet.
It continued forward, slamming into a tree and blowing a hole through, resulting in the entire 4-meter-tall tree crashing down.

WHIP
The whipping continued, ceaselessly chasing White, who sprinted around, narrowly dodging the tongue flicks.
The creature was a massive lizard beast, covered in green scales, and standing high up on an especially large tree, about 15 meters in height.
It perched on top, flicking out its sword-like tongue with devastating speed, dealing damage to the surrounding trees.
BOOOOOM!
A powerful explosion came from far away, astral light bursting into the air.
White knew who it belonged to, though he dared not look to that area.
That was Nova.
They had come before two beasts and had planned to both take one down each.
It sounded like a good plan...except that he was struggling badly.
He could barely outrun the terrifyingly long tongue, which seemed to have no particular end and was devastatingly fast.
Even running at his max speed, his entire body was covered in slash marks.
If he paused for a second, a hole would be blown through him, and surviving that...?
"Tsk, I miss my past ability."
[You really gotta focus, White...or you’ll die.]
BOOOOM!
The tree shook heavily as the lizard’s tongue rammed into it, but its thick base held, protecting White.
"Okay, okay..."
White mused, trying to calm his racing heart.
’What did she say again?’
’The Limitless Source awakens in the heart. It’s normally supposed to be a core in the brain, but since mine is only newly awakened, it’s in the heart.’
BOOOOM!
The tree shook heavily once more, but it held.
"Limitless is sentient. It reacts and evolves with the immediate purpose of its user. So, what do I need right now?"
BOOOOM!
[Two more strikes and there’ll be a hole through your back.]
The system flashed.
"Okay.... I need to run!"
BOOOOOOOOOM!
BAADUMP!
BAADUMP!
BAADUMP!
His heart pounded fiercely as veins appeared around his chest and rapidly stretched down to his legs, their green glow quickly changing to astral.
WHIP!
The unmistakable sound of the tongue flinging echoed, and White’s eyes snapped open, a blue glow spreading outwards.
Taking a step to the side.
BOOM!
A single line of crack appeared beneath his feet, and in the next moment.
VROOM!
The air parted with force as White burst forward with intense speed.
BAAANG!
The trees behind him were blown to splintering, sharpened edges flashing towards White, who raced through them all, eyes glowing with an unnatural blue.
He jumped, dove, sidestepped, and bent low to the ground, avoiding every last attack until he reached the other end, becoming a phantom that flashed forward.
WHIIP!
A tree was destroyed, but White was already a meter away from it, sprinting zigzag through the trees.
"It worked! My speed increased!"
White screamed in his head, but his eyes quickly focused as he locked gaze with the lizard.
Sliding on the ground, he came to a stop, shooting to the opposite side as the bladed tongue crashed into where he ought to be.
In a single line, he raced straight towards the large tree where the lizard perched.
BOOM!
The end of it was blown to pieces, but White already landed on the stem, running forward.
WHIIP!
The bladed tongue whipped past once more, and he reacted, minutely shifting his head to the side, though a line of blood spurted out from a cut to his face.
WHIP!
WHIP!
WHIP!
WHIP!
A total of four strikes were followed, but all were dodged.
WHIIP!
BOOOM!
It crashed into the tree, sending a powerful reverberation that would have knocked anything unstable off, but White jumped away, high into the air.
Before him was the gigantic head of the lizard, its scaly green eyes looking up at him, as its tongue recoiled.
Jerking his hands back, the veins in his legs disappeared, only to reappear on his right hand, which bulged to twice its original size.
"DIE!"
BOOM!
The air shook heavily as he punched forward towards the creature, who also flicked out its tongue.
RIIIIIIP!
CRACK!
The clear sound of flesh being ripped apart echoed out, followed by the unmistakable sound of bone being crushed.
But even louder was the explosion, as White’s punch slammed into the creature’s head, blowing a hole through, brain matter spraying into the sky.
Two figures dropped down from the sky after, landing onto the ground with a thump.
Silence, then,
BLERGH!
Blood burst out of White’s lips, the veins in his hands quietly retreating.
Without even needing to turn, he could feel it.
His left shoulder had a gaping hole in it; the final strike the lizard had given to him, before it met its end.
All of a sudden,

The instant the notifications appeared, White felt his heartbeat increasing.
GASSSPS!
A sharp gasp tore out of his lips, feeling an unexplainable cold yet equally warm energy spreading through his body.
The sound of bones snapping and flesh squirming, and he quietly turned his neck to his shoulder, eyes widening in shock at the sight.
"Impossible."
White mused, a shadow quietly casting over his face.
