Legendary Awakening: Strongest Class In the Apocalypse-Chapter 56: Lich King Rokos
"Just drop one drop of blood in the center and the Shadow Summon formation will be completed."
Zerin’s voice echoed beside Xavier’s ears. She was standing facing away from him, but even then her voice sounded as if she was directly facing him.
Xavier looked at her and let out an exaggerated sigh. He was still not sure.
In the end, he was unable to stop himself from asking again:
"Are you sure this will work?"
If it was about anything else, he might have believed her, but this time he was going to use the portal to cross to another world, and Zerin was claiming that using this shady‑looking formation she would be able to summon him back.
He could trust her?
Zerin heard his question and simply snorted, while crossing her hands together in front of her chest, causing her chest to slightly raise upwards.
"It’s up to you to believe me or not."
Xavier heard her response and let out another sigh. Logic was telling him she was telling the truth. After all, with the familiar contract in effect, she could not lie to him even if she wanted to.
Just as he was thinking, A subtle whine reverberated in the surroundings, the green portal twisted and churned, as if it was about to vanish from existence. Noting this, Xavier’s expression changed. It appeared they didn’t have much time left.
On the other hand, Jack and Rufus also seemed to have finally noticed Aria’s disappearance.
Jack held the blood‑drenched sword above his shoulders and scanned the surroundings with clear concern in his eyes.
"Where did she go? One moment she was right here!"
Compared to his nervous demeanor, Rufus’s eyes glowed. Faintly glowing footmarks seemed to have appeared on the ground, disappearing after encountering the portal.
Rufus wasn’t stupid, and a possibility appeared in his head.
"Don’t tell me that girl... did she really jump into the portal?"
Thinking up to this point, a slightly disappointed look appeared on his face. His fists were tightly clenched until his nails seemed to dig deep into the other palm.
"Why? What were you thinking! Did you really think killing all the goblins would bring her back?"
Just as he was thinking, Rufus’s ears twitched. The sound of rapid footsteps came from behind.
Turning his head, Rufus’s eyes widened slightly. Xavier, still covered in Deathwill Executioner aura, was running toward him. Even though Xavier was not even doing anything, just his mere presence alone was suffocating, filling the heart of anyone weaker than him with terrifying fear.
Rufus’s hand instinctively moved toward his bow. However, before he could aim, Xavier’s figure shot past him like a bullet.
...
Spatial Axis Shift!
The space around Xavier twisted. Where his steps struck the earth, a large crater appeared. The force generated shot his body deep into the portal.
In the end, Xavier had chosen to believe Zerin—not because he wanted to, he simply had no other choice.
The Lich King seal on his hand had already started growing. What was a small circular seal a few moments ago had already grown to cover his entire right arm. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
At this rate, in a few hours his entire vitality would be drained away.
For now, it was either do or die for Xavier!
While he was thinking, suddenly he felt his perception shift, head spinning.
...
Planet Greensun.
The sky had cracked like glass. Cold wind howled like a banshee. Lightning and wind intertwined to create a storm of surging energies to destroy anything that stood in its path. Similar to the sky, the earth was no different, with cracks running like rivers for thousands of kilometers. Pillars of lava shot through the air, raining hot burning magma in every direction.
Even with the help of Infinite Record, Planet Greensun was unable to resist the abyssal invasion. More than ninety‑nine percent of its population had perished. It was absolute slaughter. This number would have reached a hundred percent mark if not for the abyssal race retreating.
In the center of this world stood a high golden dome, projecting a castle made in the shape of old European style.
Outside of this castle, a small battle was raging on.
Clang! Clang!
Steel stuck against steel sending sparks flying everywhere.
Aria huffed and puffed as she avoided the attack of armoured knight goblins. Her blue robe, torn at many places, was stained red. Although she had done her best to avoid attacks, even then she was simply not fast enough.
The fact that she was able to survive against the First Sequence goblin knights for so long while still being a non‑evolved human spoke volumes about her ability.
Just as she was thinking, the goblin knight’s heavy sword was above her. Aria noticed the danger, but her body refused to move. It felt as if someone had poured molten lead on her muscles. However, it didn’t matter how tired she was. She simply gritted her teeth and jumped to the side, avoiding the blow at the last moment.
Bang! The goblin knight’s large sword was buried two feet into the ground, cracking the tiled floor and sending sharp stone pieces flying in every direction.
Its two eyes, filled with mad killing intent glowing crimson, focused on Aria’s figure in the distance.
Taking this opportunity, Aria hurriedly took out one healing potion from her inventory and chugged it down her throat.
Immediately, a light cooling sensation enveloped her entire figure. The wounds which were bleeding a moment ago rapidly closed. Even her stamina was slightly recovered.
This epic fight between a non‑evolved human and the First Sequence was watched live by Lich King Rokos.
Lich King Rokos—contray to his grand sounding name had a rather normal‑looking appearance standing three‑foot‑with an unusually big nose that dominated sixty percent of his facial real estate. When he bared his teeth, which looked as if a couple of nails were hammered into the jaws, yawning Rokos used nails which were sharp as steel to clean his teeth, exerting a little bit of effort to remove the last piece of meat from his teeth.
Once this stubborn piece of meat was removed, a blissful expression appeared on the monster’s face.
"It appears rumors were not exaggerating. The first generation of awakeners really are a different breed."
If not for watching with his own two eyes, Rokos would have never believed a non‑evolved living being was capable of surviving against the First Sequence knight. But reality told him something different.
After watching for a moment, Rokos got bored and turned his attention to something else distant.
"Hmm! It’s already been some time. Why is it taking this long!"
Rokos had cast countless Lich King seals, but none had taken this long to prepare the body for his descent. The most it had taken was a few hours.
But this case was completely different. After all this time, his target was a mere non‑evolved human. Rokos’s thick and long eyebrows couldn’t help but scrunch up together.
"This moronic piece of metal!" Rokos suddenly exploded. He noticed the goblin knight hitting the teleportation formation altar.
Just as he was fuming, suddenly he noticed the presence of Lich King seal entering his perception range!
It appears the human actually dared cross over using the portal.
