Legendary Architect of Apocalypse-Chapter 88: Incomplete Fable
"We need to get out of here," Elias said as he walked back to the door. Even if the old man wasn’t hostile toward him, he didn’t think it was a good idea to stay when things could change at a moment’s notice.
He opened the door, prepared to leave. However, he wasn’t able to step outside. Instead, he took a step back, frowning.
"Oh, you’re awake." A woman was standing outside the door, holding a tray with some sliced fruits that looked barely edible.
The woman, who looked to be in her early twenties, stepped inside the room. She walked past Elias, and placed the tray on the bed.
"You brought me here?" Elias asked, turning around to look at the woman. At the same time, he used Analysis to see just what kind of an existence this woman was.

"Elias looked at the woman’s Status Screen, which left him at a loss for words. Her stats could only be described as abysmal, as they were even lower than his own. In some parameters, some of her stats weren’t even half of his.
He had thought that the person who brought him here was at least a Mid-Tier Fable like Harbinger, but this was completely different. Not only was this Fable weak, but she was also extremely young, born only ten days ago.
There was another thing that he found strange about this woman. It was the world where she was born. It was said to be Earth, which was the same name that his planet had.
Was this name a coincidence? It was also highly possible that there were other worlds that held this name, but that age gave him second thoughts.
The woman was born ten days ago, and he had been transmigrated to this world roughly a week ago. It meant his world was destroyed at least more than a week ago, but not too long ago.
Every sign guided him in the same direction. This was a Fable that belonged to his own world. Even though she couldn’t recognise him, they had the same origin.
"That’s right. When I found you, you were still breathing, so I brought you back," Lycorice answered. "I knew that you would wake up, but the old man refused to believe me. He even scolded me for bringing you back. Can you believe it?"
"Anyway, you must be hungry. Why don’t you eat something? I brought you things that even humans can eat safely. It will make you feel better."
Lycorice didn’t seem to have even an ounce of hostility, when she should’ve been brimming with it. It made Elias really confused. The more normal she acted, the stranger she appeared.
"What a strange fable." Astralious was just as confused as Elias. "Either she is a fool, or she is acting. You should be extremely careful around her."
Elias didn’t react to his words, even if it was the only plausible explanation. If he hadn’t seen her status screen, even he would’ve thought that she was acting. But she truly didn’t have any hostility.
"Why did you save me?" he asked the woman. "Don’t you know who I am?"
"What do you mean?" Lycorice tilted her head sideways, looking genuinely confused. "Why wouldn’t I save someone who needs help? What does it have to do with your identity?"
"Maybe she really is a fool. It might be for the best. Distract her here, and then sneak away. The door is already open. We should be able to escape," Astralious suggested, glancing at the open door behind them.
The old man was distracted with that metal junk, and the woman wasn’t clever and could be easily fooled. It was the perfect opportunity to escape.
"What? Aren’t you going in the wrong direction? The door is that way!" he exclaimed in disbelief as Elias passed through him, approaching the woman instead.
Instead of going out the door, Elias went to Lycorice.
He picked up the food that was on the tray. Even though the meal didn’t look appetizing compared to the food kept in his storage ring, it was still safe.
Through analysis, he had verified that the food was not only safe but genuinely beneficial to him. Moreover, he wanted to talk more with this woman, who was possibly the last link between him and Earth.
"Where are you from?" He sat on the bed and took a bite from the sliced pieces of the unknown fruit.

With a single bite, he was able to increase his stats, just as the analysis suggested. The growth was slow, only 0.1 points, but the best part was that it could be stacked up to a certain extent.

"He took another slice and experienced the same growth, which was lucrative given his low base stats.
"I am from right here." Lycorice answered Elias. "Where else would I be from? You ask strange questions."
"No wonder she is so foolish." Astralious was the first to respond to her answer, offering Elias an explanation like an expert on the matter. "She is an incomplete fable. What a rare sight."
’Incomplete fable?’
"It’s what we call a fable that was captured before it could completely absorb the hostility of that world, and he formed," Astralious answered, hearing the thoughts that were directed to him. "Whoever captured her, must be a complete fool to not wait long enough."
