Chapter 92: Soul Bound

Back with the others, it had been about twenty minutes since Darius left them to go face the Orcs, and Michael had healed Raya and Theo.

Their wounds were completely gone, and they were now waiting for them to wake up so they would be able to continue the raid.

Michael, in particular, was looking at Pryion; he still couldn’t understand why that knight bowed to Darius, even though it felt like he was stronger than him in everything.

"Why do you keep looking at me, boy?" The knight spoke, turning his head to Michael, he was trying to see why the warrior kept looking at him.

Michael, who wasn’t in any way scared of the knight, kept his eyes on him.

"I don’t know how it is possible for you to even bow to someone like that." He began speaking, he could see that Pryion was bound to Darius, and from what he was seeing, Pryion was clearly the stronger one.

The knight looked at the golden-haired warrior, he had not spoken to any other warrior aside from Darius. He didn’t know what to tell the warrior.

"Are you speaking of Lord Darius?" The knight was looking at Michael.

"Yes!" Michael was looking at the Knight, he was not paying attention to the others there. He needed to know what made Darius have Pryion as a summon. "How did you end up being a summon to a warrior, when clearly you are far greater than that warrior?"

"Because I couldn’t compete with the indomitable spirit of that said warrior," The Knight said something that not even Michael would have expected to hear. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Michael was looking at the knight, and the words he had heard were not what he would have expected.

"So you mean you lost to him? I don’t know how you want me to believe that, but you don’t look like someone who would fully accept a human like him blindly." Michael turned to look at the warriors who lay there.

"You are way stronger, so one day you might just choose to overpower him and take back your freedom."

Pryion was looking at the warrior, he didn’t know why, but he felt like there was something more to all that.

"Something like that would never happen,"

The knight spoke slowly, he looked in the direction that Darius had gone.

"Okay, how is it not possible? You are stronger than he is, and then there is nothing you would tell me. The strong always take over and...."

"Sometimes it’s not about strength and power," Pryion paused. He turned to the warrior, looking him in the eye.

"I was once like that, I thought that strength was the pinnacle of it all, and I needed to make sure that nothing was going to keep me beneath a warrior like Lord Darius. But then, when I was facing him, I saw something that set him so apart from other warriors,"

Michael had a brow raised, and he stared at the knight, still not following what he was saying.

"So what is that?"

"He has something he wishes to protect, and he is not fighting to take power or even rule. He does it to make sure that those he protects are fine at all times."

Pryion walked closer to Michael, leaning close to the Knight’s ears. "That is what makes him so different from other warriors, he has the soul of someone who would go far to protect the people he loves."

Placing his hand on his chest, Pryion looked at the warrior. "With my soul tied to his, I can feel what he feels, and I can say that he is nothing like the warriors of this world. He would never kill without a just cause, and he is always the one to make sure that everyone he loves is happy."

Michael was a bit moved; he had expected something else, but then he never would have imagined that there was something with Pryion and Darius that was so tight.

"So you’re saying he is a bit different with power?" He gazed at the knight, his voice was a bit different. "I still find it hard to believe, there is no way a warrior from Creston won’t have this evil mentality of being the leader of his guild."

Pryion let a slight chuckle, turning back to the forest.

"We can never tell, can we now?"

Back with Darius, the young warrior could be seen covered in Orc blood as he was killing the last two Orcs.

He wasn’t using his swords; with his bare hands, he tore their hearts out, making sure that they were killed in an instant.

"Hundred Orcs my ass!" Darius was tired; he might not have had a problem with them, but taking down Orcs like that with the speed and precision he was using was something else.

The strain on his body was real; using that amount of mana and speed wore him out faster than he expected.

[145/500 killed!]

Darius looked up, he had piled up their bodies like he was building a mountain. He didn’t look happy, just worn out.

He sat down there, as his body slowly began its regeneration process, and he was not about to do anything else if he wasn’t in top shape.

Taking his breaths slowly, he looked at the dead Orcs, and he could remember that one of them had tried to call for backup.

"Hmmmm, I wonder if that thing even got through." Darius was looking into the forest as he wondered if he was going to be facing anything else soon.

’You know, there are still more of them out there,’ Azree wanted to remind Darius that there was something in the forest that he would need to be wary of.

Darius smiled as he looked up. He knew that nothing was going to make an Orc able to kill him easily.

"I know, I know, I just need to..." Darius paused. Something was off by a lot. He sprang up, taking Ve’xa in his left hand, looking into the forest.

"Something is coming," The young warrior could feel something strong coming his way, and it was clearly not the Orcs, and for some reason, he knew that if he was to take it lightly, he was going to get hurt.

Darius stood there for a while, and he didn’t see anything. he was about to sit back down when a powerful telekinetic wave came out of nowhere.

’Darius!’

"I see it!" Our young warrior blocked the attack with his sword, managing to cancel it before it could cause any damage.

The wave had cut his face, and Darius turned to look at the forest.

"Show yourself, there is no need to hide behind attacks."

Suddenly, the ground began to shake, he could feel something coming as the trees were being pushed aside.

"So you’re the one who killed my brothers," A voice came from the forest. Following the voice, a gigantic Orc standing over 13 ft tall came out. In its right hand was a huge Axe, and on the left was a club. It was covered in Ash and blood, with markings on its body.

Darius was looking at the Orc, he got serious, trying to make sure that he was going to take it down.

"Your brothers didn’t put up a fight, they were too weak. Why didn’t you come yourself?"

The Orc was looking at Darius, it could see how small the human was. A disappointed look popped up on its face, it thought that someone bigger would have done the job.

"I am Ignor, champion of BloodCrang." The Orc stomped the ground, causing a miniature earthquake. "I will pass your judgement!"

Darius smiled when he heard what the monster said. He hung Ve’xa on his shoulder, looking at the Orc.

"Please, oh big ugly. Take it easy with the judgment, I am not so hard-hearted like you."
