Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 377: The AI Axe...conclusion.
Madam Feng rose to her feet and started clapping. "Yes, yes, yes!!!" She said enthusiastically.
"It is the app which uses a virtual clone of the parent to help the child study." Prime Minister Chi Rui explained. "It was supposed to help busy parents help their children study from anywhere in the world.
Instead, it has made parents lazy. Even when they are at home, they leave the homework to the virtual clones. Now, virtual clones are not just going through homework, they are teaching children other things.
A month ago, we were surprised to learn that a group of virtual clones were teaching children how to build homemade bombs for fun.
There was an investigation. The company claimed it was hacked. Those accounts were blocked and the children were taken for therapy and preventative measures were put in place to prevent such a thing from happening.
However, it happened again last week. These clones are putting the wrong ideas in the minds of children while parents sleep on the sofa or watch television." Looking straight into the camera, he said. "It is time for you to pick up your responsibilities again before your children ruin our empire."
Mei Mei was so glad that she never used Homework Holo for anything. She was old school and she did homework with Mingzhu.
She was the kind of parent that needed to see for herself that her child was making progress.
"Cribshare." Chi Rui looked directly into the camera again. "Personally, I have never approved of this one. Live streaming your baby during nap time is wrong. Having people vote on the best posture your baby sleeps in is crazy. Making them pay money to watch that baby sleep in specific postures is creepy.
We won’t just be shutting down Cribshare, police officers and child care protective services will be visiting the homes of all the parents that used this app.
We have your names and addresses. We are already watching you and I advise you not to run. The only thing we want to do is ascertain the well being of those children."
Mei Mei suddenly slapped the table. "Cribshare has been active for three months and there was a kidnapping of a baby from a crib in some town in the American empire last month."
She knew this because her phone had been programmed to share with her news on all child abductions in the world. She always read about them in order to make sure that she did not do what those parents did.
"The world is insane." Madam Feng sighed. "I have an employee that was doing that Cribshare. I threatened to fire her and she stopped. I too think its wrong to put babies out there like that. So many perverts on the internet these days."
"That is why I rarely post pictures of Mingzhu. When I do, I block her face with an emoji." Mei Mei shared.
Jingzhe realized that this was why she had told him to cover Mingzhu’s face with a picture of the globe or something if she was to be the brand ambassador of Blue Galactic.
It also explained why the children on the Pearl space camp billboard and hologram were wearing space helmets. Mingzhu, Lian, Jiang and Mi Mi. None had shown their faces.
And the pictures of Mingzhu when she lost her first tooth. All the pictures shared on social media covered parts of her face and mostly showed her smile. It seemed like everyone had realized that Mei Mei did not want Mingzhu’s face everywhere.
But, that video of her declaring herself the general had trended and Mingzhu’s faces was in it. So what was the difference?
Jingzhe put his hand on his chin as he pondered on this as if it was a very serious matter.
"My Tooth Fairy." Chi Rui announced. "This app has turned an innocent fairy tale and childhood experience into a nightmare. Children have accounts where they compare who got more money. Some are demanding cheques from their parents. Others are borrowing money from online banks and faking their parents signatures.
You may force the ministry of finance to step in and decide how much money each child should be given after losing a tooth. It should be no more than five yuan. Children don’t need to be given five million yuan for losing teeth!!"
Madam Feng was staring at Jingzhe through everything that Chi Rui said.
Jingzhe was sweating nervously.
"Sibling swap, friend swap and all the other swap apps that have flooded the app market recently." Chi Rui bellowed fiercely. "Trading of human beings for fun is illegal, no matter how convince you are that it is harmless.
The police had to intervene in a case where a twelve year old boy swapped his one year old sister for a dog and wouldn’t tell his parents which of his friends had taken the sister.
This is the kind of nonsense that cannot continue."
"Ho!!! We are living in a horror movie." Madam Feng said in wonder.
Everyone shook their heads or sighed. All these apps had started out as fun and helpful. Now, they were somewhere between criminal and insane.
Ten minutes later, Chi Rui started on the apps which affected adults.
"GhostEx, for fucks sake!" He sighed and cursed.
Everyone gasped.
"This is going to trend." Mei Mei burst into laughter.
Chi Rui went on as if he had not just cursed on live television. "This is an app that allows you to create a virtual clone of your ex-partner and continue having a relationship with them. Some people have taken it so far as to sue their ex-partners for ownership of their virtual clones!!
How can you sue someone for ownership of their image? It is not yours!! I would not want my ex having a relationship with virtual me and posting pictures of them together. It is a violation of ....me!!
Others are making adult content with virtual clones of their exes. I will just go ahead and say that this is a crime.
GhostEx, is a criminal app and it is banned, banned, banned.
It is banned just like GhostDate which matches you up with people after searching through their browser history on social media and their phone. That is called hacking and it is an invasion of privacy."
He sighed and drunk some more water. Then he waved at someone to take over for him because he was just too angry to continue.
The deputy prime minister took his place and smiled calmly. "We would like to share that we are not anti-technology. The empire supports smart technical innovations but it is pro-sanity even more. We must draw the line somewhere and it has officially been drawn.
We know that some of you are going to be affected and the ministry of finance and the royal office will be announcing how we move forward and how those affected will be helped.
There will be temporary and permanent jobs to replace the ones you lose. They may not be the jobs you want and you may not earn as much as you used to but you will not starve.
This moment will be a turning point in our empire and everyone is encouraged to work with us as we bring back sanity and proper prosperity."
