Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 360: A warning..
Madam Feng looked eagerly at her son. "So, did you propose or not? Did Meilin say yes? Is that why you two went shopping for wedding dresses?" She put her hand on her chest, "My babies are finally going to tie the knot. We will have another baby in the house soon. I should begin thinking of names. Feng Yue...." She stopped and shuddered. "Tang Yue ruined Yue for me. Dammit, I wanted a granddaughter named after the Moon."
Jingzhe walked around his mother and placed his hands on her shoulders.
"Mom, there was no proposal. We were accompanying Meihua and Siping. Meihua wanted Mei Mei to try on dressed with her and in the end, we bought some dresses too. It was nothing special." He started pushing her out of his bedroom. "Why don’t you go and make a list of other baby names. Yue will not work."
Madam Feng rotated and walked back into the room. "Stop pushing me out, I came here so that we can discuss something more serious. It’s about my sister, your aunt and her daughter."
Jingzhe gulped. A dreadful feeling settled in the pit of his stomach. "What happened when you went away with them?"
His mother had been visibly afraid after she returned from sending off her sister and niece. Her lips were firm and thin, eyes narrowed and she went to the kitchen and cooked and baked for hours.
It was how she let out her frustrations. Jingzhe knew better than to disturb her when she was venting. He always waited until after to approach her.
"Are you ready to talk about it now?" He asked her.
She moved to the single couch and sat down, plopping down with unnecessary force. Unexpectedly, a loud farting sound screamed through the room.
Her eyes widened.
Jingzhe covered his mouth and chuckled.
Madam Feng’s hand searched for the culprit and revealed the green whoopee cushion which she had never seen in the house. "Unbelievable." she muttered.
"It is not mine." He denied immediately.
She arched her brows and gave him her best skeptical look.
"Okay its mine." He surrendered. "I just wanted to show Mingzhu one because she has never seen it. We saw it in a movie and...."
"And you decided that teaching her how to place these under seats is the best choice!" She shook her head. "Do not turn my granddaughter into a mini you."
"Like father, like daughter." Jingzhe said with a shrug. "That is the way it is supposed to go."
"You mean like mother, like daughter and like father, like son." She suggested.
Jingzhe gave her a blank stare. She was wrong, it was like father, like daughter. Mingzhu was more like him that Mei Mei. Even her eyes were like his.
Madam Feng threw the whoopee cushion on Jingzhe’s bed while saying, "Your aunt is here because she needs money."
"Are we giving it to her?" He asked.
He had to ask because he knew the relationship between his aunt and his mom was not the best. They had not spoken for so many years because his aunt was selfish and only cared about herself and her family.
In his opinion, such a relative was not needed in their lives. But, the decision was his mother’s to make. He would stand back and protect her as best as he could.
His aunt was not a citizen of the empire, she had given that up when she moved abroad and claimed citizenship in another empire. If she was trouble, he would use his connections to have her thrown out of the empire.
"Why would I give in to her?" Madam Feng sneered. "When she was eating her money and living lavishly, she did not remember us. Whenever I called or sent her a message, she never replied.
One time, she picked up and I heard her telling someone that she was just dealing with some poor relatives that were always begging her for money.
I was trying to hire an expensive law firm to get your custody at the time. And I had never asked her for money before then. She did not give me any and she called me a fool for trying to adopt when I could have my own children.
After she refused to help me save you when you needed surgery, I stopped bothering her."
Jingzhe walked to the bed, sat down and faced his mother. "How much did she ask for?"
Madam Feng sneered again, "Her shamelessness knows no bounds, she is not just asking for a specific amount, it seems like she wants the whole empire. Her bright idea is to have you marry her daughter."
Jingzhe jumped up immediately. "Not happening. Never in a million lives. I would rather become monk than marry any woman that is not Jun Meilin. Besides, how can I marry my own cousin? Isn’t that incest?" He shuddered, and his face was filled with open disgust.
"I told her that." Madam Feng said. "And I also told her that Mei Mei is my choice for a daughter-in-law. Why would I jeopardize your happiness for her and her daughter? They are strangers to us and it should remain that way. I want them out of the empire as soon as possible before they begin developing bad ideas."
Jingzhe frowned. "What kind of bad ideas?"
Madam Feng also leaned forward. "They want to tour our cake factory. I received a message from my sister with the request.
I also asked the Empress Mother to help me investigate their finances and she sent me a file within thirty minutes.
They are broke.
Her husband found a younger mistress who introduced him to a casino and he went down the gambling hole. They have no more money and that is why she is truly back.
She either wants money or the recipes for our cheesecakes so that she can open branches in America....maybe elsewhere too.
If I don’t give both or one of those things to her, I think they will use other means to get what they want." She lifted her eyes to her son, looking at him with more seriousness than she had lately. "Be careful A Zhe, Pang Lucy will do everything she can to trap you.
She might try seduction, if she fails, she could resort to those tactics you see in dramas, like drugging you or something. Maybe using fake pictures to blackmail you.
The Empress Mother told me that a young lady once asked the Emperor for help and he allowed her into his car. She tore her shirt and started crying, claiming he had assaulted her."
Jingzhe frowned.
"Be careful." Madam Feng sounded the warning again.
