Chapter 361: Mingzhu, super secret agent.

In the morning, when Mei Mei woke up, the fresh smell of baked bread teased her nostrils before the familiar sting of the sun’s rays hit her face. The smell was mouth watering and it punished her stomach stomach which immediately started demanding to be filled.

"I love you Madam Feng." She whispered.

Her mother-in-law really had the magic pastry touch. It was why they often had people sniffing the air outside their gates often. Lately, some of them had become bold enough to exchange money for bread outside the gate.

Madam Feng had taught her maids how to bake bread and simple pastries. These things were now being sold on the sly like secret drug deals.

There was a knock on her door which was timed perfectly like someone could tell that she was finally awake.

"C4, who is outside?" she asked.

"Jun Mingzhu."

"Bandit, unlock my door," she said.

A clicking sound was made and the door flew open. Mingzhe, jumped inside eagerly. "Lazy mommy, wake up now. The sun is already shining on my butt."

"You can just say rise and shine like a normal person." Mei Mei opened her arms and caught Mingzhu who launched herself on the bed and into her arms.

"Grandma Feng me how to say that." Mingzhu answered as she twisted out of the hug. "Look mommy, I am dressed like Whiskers but I have butterfly wings and a sword. Can we go to your work now?"

She was dressed in a Whiskers ten white shirt with a black stripe running vertically down to the left side, green cargo pants and black and white sneakers.

On her back were pink butterfly wings, on her wrist, the Omnitrix which was sold at the space camp and around her waist, the wooden sword which the Emperor had given her.

Her hair was held together with alien shaped pins. Some sparkled some were dull. Her entire outfit consisted of things sold at the space camp, with the exception of the sword.

"I have not bathed or had my first coffee Mingzhu. At least wait until the sun actually shines on my actual butt." She replied.

"Grandma Chi said you have a big butt." Mingzhu giggled.

Mei Mei blinked.

"Grandma Feng said it means you will have healthy babies." She added.

Mei Mei blinked again.

"Mommy, am I strong because you have a big butt?" She asked.

"No." Mei Mei answered flatly.

She also realized that she would need to have a conversation with her mother madam Feng about what they discussed when Mingzhu was in ear shot. No doubt, the little girl had already spread the big butt gospel to whoever cared to listen to her.

Grandma Rize said..."

Mei Mei covered Mingzhu’s mouth. "Baby, save something for later. If you tell me all this now, what will you tell me as we drive to the camp?"

Mingzhu nodded.

Mei Mei took her hand away.

Mingzhu, the self assigned intelligence agent in the house assumed that information about the butt could be stored for later. But, there were other things she could share. "Uncle Mingzhe talked to the aunt neighbor again."

Aunt neighbor was what she called Tangning.

Mei Mei was intrigued. Before she could ask for more information, Mingzhu moved on to something that the little one thought was even more interesting.

"Uncle Jie secretly replaced all your ketchup with super hot chilli."

Mei Mei blinked. "That scoundrel!"

"Great grandma Jun put some on her eggs and her eyes became very big. Her lips, too. They were like big caterpillars." Mingzhu reported.

Mei Mei laughed and shifted her body. It was time for a morning bath.

Mingzhu followed her to the bathroom, put down the lid of the toilet and sat down. "I saw grandma Feng hiding the good cookies behind the sacks with the almonds. She said they were for tea parties but I saw her eating three when she was visiting aunt Meow Meow in the morning. She left crumbs on the floor."

Mei Mei didn’t respond. Sh brushed her teeth, wondering how her daughter got time to surveil everyone in the house.

Had she followed madam Feng from their house to the house next door just to see what she did with the cookies? That was peak intelligence gathering.

"Mom, grandma cousin Lian said that she is a twin, but I asked Bandit and he said it was not true. I saw her birth certificate."

Mei Mei swallowed the foam in her mouth accidentally. She rinsed her mouth and turned to look at her daughter. "You saw her birth certificate! How?"

This was not the kind of information that was left out there for people to see as they wished.

Mingzhu shrugged. "Ask Bandit, he will show you."

Mei Mei decided to do so after her shower. As she scrubbed her body, the updates continued.

"I saw great great grandpa Jun dancing to rap music secretly. He told me that it was not elegant. But he was smiling when he was dancing. He told a lie."

"He said it was not elegant, not that he didn’t like it." Mei Mei told her.

"Big Yellow stole roasted sausages and hid them in playhouse last night. I was looking through the window. I saw the whole thing." Her eyes were wide with wonder. "But when I checked in the morning, they were all gone."

"He must have eaten them at midnight." Mei Mei answered with a smile. "We all need a midnight snack once in a while."

"But he is a thief." Mingzhu said solemnly. "He should go to dog prison."

"It doesn’t exist honey." Mei Mei told her. "Why don’t you tell me about the cats. What they up to lately?"

Mingzhu had this theory that the cats were planning something. Her green alien man was no longer watching for intruders in the playhouse, he had been moved to the pet room to keep an eye on the cats.

"They were sitting in a circle outside when I woke up." Mingzhu told her. "They were staring at the geese. I think they are planning to eat the geese."

"Oh no!" Mei Mei feigned horror.

"But the geese are also planning something." Mingzhu lowered her voice to a whisper.

Mei Mei indulged her, leaning down after wrapping a towel around her body. "What are the geese planning."

Mingzhu shrugged. "I don’t know mommy, I don’t speak geese. But they invited the ducks over for a meeting in the morning and one of them honked loudly. Daddy said it was a war cry."

Mei Mei laughed. Life in her house was very interesting if one saw it through Mingzhu’s perspective. War between geese, ducks and cats.

Now that was a movie she would pay to watch!
