Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 311: His daughter, his money
"And what is wrong with perfection?" Mei Mei asked him as she started a slow walk out of his bedroom. "Have you forgotten that he also had a private diary that you could have read if you wanted to."
Jingzhe scoffed. Damn righteousness! He had not read that diary out of respect for the Prince. Not because he was a prince but because privacy mattered to everyone. But....maybe he could hack into the laptop again and take one small peek.
As they descended down the stairs together Mei Mei said, "By the way I did take a look at the contents of the diary and they are also harmless. He complained about his father snoring and hopes it was not a gene he inherited. I am not sure that snoring is something related to genes."
"It is." Jingzhe told her.
Madam Feng was behind them, carrying Mingzhu in her arms. "Jingzhe took after me in that aspect." She laughed.
Jingzhe mimicked Mei Mei and he pouted. "Mom..." he whined. "Do you want me to be kicked out of the bedroom by Mei Mei."
Madam Feng and Mei Mei laughed. Nobody thought about the real reality which was that Jingzhe and madam Feng did not share DNA.
"Are we really having duck tail for dinner?" Mei Mei looked back once and asked Madam Feng.
It wasn’t that she didn’t eat it but it was not her favorite piece of of duck meat. Even when she ate chicken, she avoided the back and that little sharp butt area. Just like she didn’t eat trotters which were pig feet, chicken feet, cow hooves.
"I know that you don’t like duck tail so I am having something else prepared for you." Madam Feng assured her.
They went to the back yard and found that they were not the only residents in the house that had come outside to look at the new arrivals. Aside from the maids, the pets that could escape their dwellings were standing or sitting in the shade, eyeing the horses from a distance.
General Big Yellow growled each time one of the horses raised a foot or seemed to look like it wanted to investigate its surroundings.
On his back was Noodles, sitting arrogantly like a queen that had come out to address her servants. The kittens were huddled close to the wolf and tiger, long forgotten by their parents.
"Are their coats silver?" Madam Feng asked.
Mei Mei nodded. "They are a variant breed so they are different from ordinary horses. They can gallop faster than sound."
Jingzhe frowned. "Honey, that sounds abnormal. A lot of encoding would have to be done to their genes to make them...."
"A Zhe, just trust me." She jumped in to put an end to the scientific explanation he wanted to give. She would not understand much of it anyway because genes were not related to her line of work.
Madam Feng was having an entirely different thought and she shared it immediately. "I don’t know much about horses but I know that if you send horses that are as beautiful as this to the stables of the royal palace, you will not be getting them back. The Empress Mother will claim one, so will the Empress Dowager, Grand Emperor, Emperor and every other royal will want one as well."
She saw the arrogance in Mei Mei’s eyes which seemed to say, they are my horses and nobody can take them away from me.
So she added, "You can turn them down but it doesn’t mean someone won’t hold a grudge. Waters in the royal family run deep. If they can scheme against each other, what about you?
Maybe the grudge won’t fall on you but it might fall on Minghzu in future. The horses themselves, someone might kill them."
"Or steal and sell them." Jingzhe said. "Half of the royal treasury was robbed and the artifacts were replaced by fakes."
"Long hands Long Bo." Mei Mei said as she walked towards the horses with a handful of sugar cubes that C4 had given her when she got the horses. "I heard from my brother that one of Long Bo’s men was arrested for selling royal treasures. Under hypnosis, he admitted that Prince Long Bo was also involved. However, he died the night after confessing so the case is now lukewarm."
Madam Feng gasped. "Dear Lord! A royal prince is involved in stealing from the royal treasury! What are they waiting for to arrest him? He should not be walking around freely."
Mingzhu finally noticed the horses because she removed her smart glasses. "Horse, horse." She raised her hands to clap and the smart glasses went flying in the air.
"There goes another pair." Madam Feng mumbled. She had never seen anyone so incapable of holding on to a pair of glasses like Mingzhu.
She was always misplacing them, sitting on them or destroying them in one way or another by accident. The glasses landed in the branch of a tree.
Mingzhu meanwhile was swinging her feet, clamoring to ride or touch one of the horses.
"Later." Mei Mei told her. "They are hungry and need to be fed first. Before riding them, you need to become their friend. Make them used to your scent."
Mingzhu clapped her hands. "Mommy, I will give one to Prince Flower because he gave me all of his money."
Jingzhe was confused.
Mei Mei explained. "Prince flower is Long Wu and his mother gave Mingzhu a bank card to spend as she pleases. Apparently it is half of Long Wu’s savings from one month to his current age."
"Prince Flower’s money is all mine." Minghzu declared.
"Also words told to my daughter by Prince Long Wu’s mother." Mei Mei shared as she turned around and urged everyone to go back into the house.
"Who needs their money? I am Mingzhu’s dad and I am a billionaire. Is there anything that my daughter needs which I cannot afford?" Jingzhe raised his voice and huffed. "Mingzhu, daddy’s baby, you are only allowed to spend my money."
If he got his hands on that bank card, he would cut it up. He did not want Mingzhu to grow up and be blackmailed the way Mei Mei was emotionally blackmailed after Mo Liang saved her life.
What if this Long Wu grew up to be a nuisance and used the excuse of his money that Mingzhu spent to tie her down against her wish?
"I already locked the bank card away, don’t worry." Mei Mei whispered to him.
Jingzhe was very relieved and he felt lighter. He was happy to know that they were on the same page concerning this. Mingzhu was not for sale!
