Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 250: Attempted murder charges.
One adventurous week passed in the blink of an eyes. During that time, Mo Liang was arrested again as Mei Mei officially reported him for attempting to murder her twice. One with poison and two, after his son pushed her into a coffee table.
The empire was buzzing with excitement once again as the most famous divorce of their time which was just quieting down took on another ugly turn.
Everyone had an opinion on the matter, including Gao Jiajia who came out to say that she knew something was off with Mo Liang. She made up a story about how she had been coerced into interviewing him and smearing Jun Meilin’s name. She had been afraid for her life so she did as told.
People were not buying into her story. She had been seen laughing with him and sharing a hug after the interview was finished. And this hug happened backstage, away from the eyes of the live audience. If she was so scared, why had she acted cozy with him?
She also liked to record nearly all of her conversations. Why didn’t she have a single recording of Mo Liang threatening her?
Despite her failure to turn things around, other members of the media that spoke to Mo Liang shared their opinions of him. Most, jumped on Gao Jiajia’s claim and said they had found him odd, off, scary, creepy, weird vibe, fake.
With all the publicity around the matter especially after Phoenix tv shared video evidence of Mo Liang, Tang Yue and Mrs. Sun standing over Mei Mei’s unconscious body as they plotted how to get rid of evidence, the officials treated it seriously.
A full investigation was launched and Mei Mei surrendered the poison which she had kept for evidence. Hospital reports were presented and reanalyzed, confirming the unknown toxin.
Former housekeepers and neighbors were questioned. Space M lab was raided as the officers received a tip about where the poison had come from.
If the house had not exploded, officers would have loved to collect samples of everything in the kitchen. When all the evidence was gathered, Mrs. Sun was also arrested.
As with custom, authorities invited all the parties involved into a mediation session which was scheduled for this day. Mei Mei had come with her lawyers and her parents. More family members were waiting outside the police station.
It was a Thursday, and the weather was especially hot. The court house was experiencing a malfunction in their cooling system so the mediation room felt more like a boiler room. Lawyers, police officers and the involved parties were all struggling to keep their looks professional even though all everyone wanted to do was rip off their clothes and jump into the nearest swimming pool.
"I think we should hurry this up." Chi Lian suggested. She was holding two portable fans, using one for herself and one for Mei Mei.
Sitting on Mei Mei’s left side, Jun Muyang was also holding two fans in his hands, one was his and the other for his precious daughter.
Mei Mei was silently enduring the blasts of air filled love which were hitting her face.
Across from them sat Mo Liang, once proud heroic space captain and now famous attempted murderer. Seated beside him was his sulking and unrepentant mother Mrs. Sun, a believer in the fact that all their problems could go away with one simple truth: Mo Liang had once saved Jun Meilin’s life.
She was also the main culprit as she had gone on to feed Mei Mei the poison by dosing her soup daily even in the absence of her son.
There were ten lawyers in the room, nine of them for Mei Mei’s defense and only one for Mo Liang and Mrs. Sun’s. The Empress had thought it best of she stayed out of this situation. If Mo Liang escaped it, then she would partner up with him again.
The police officers were four and they were all there to protect Mo Liang’s life. He had dared the wrong family so who knew what could go wrong. Two court appointed mediators were tense, with no idea where to start from because they had a feeling this was a lost cause.
Mr. Wei, an elderly gentleman and one of the mediators cleared his throat and began.
"I will begin by reminding everyone that it is better to...." He stopped after peeking at Chi Lian and decided to take a sip of ice cold tea as he came up with something else to say before Lady Chi sewed his mouth shut. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
She had paid a visit to his house the previous night, paralyzed him and whispered that exact threat in his ears.
Mrs. Sun could not take it anymore and she opened her mouth. "It was not as if we were trying to kill her. All we wanted to do was make a little sick to make her family care about her. Is that a crime?"
The police officers and lawyers scoffed. YES!! It was a crime and that was why they were all inside that hot room on a hot afternoon. Did this woman not grasp the gravity of the situation?
One of the police officers shook his head. They loved brainless people like madam Sun who confessed their crimes without being forced to.
"How about I feed you a poison that can make you as sick as you made my daughter?" Chi Lian challenged, placing a small dark vial on the table.
A lawyer snatched it up quickly and he shouted. "This doesn’t mean anything and there could be anything in this vial. Lady Chi’s words are strictly hypothetical."
"No, I mean it." Lady Chi said.
Nine lawyers looked at the police officers and said together. "She doesn’t mean it."
This was the Phoenix group legal team of attorneys and they were very familiar with their boss. She meant every word she was saying. The first rule every lawyer was taught when they joined the team was if they ever ended up at a police station with Lady Chi, DENY, DENY, DENY.
"Open your mouth, I dare you." Lady Chi challenged Mrs. Sun.
She placed another vial on the table and it was snatched by the lawyer. It was replaced by another, and another, and another. For every vial she placed on the table, the lawyers had an answer ready to explain the contents away.
"This is milk powder."
"Garlic powder."
"Onion powder."
"Cumin."
"Olive oil."
"Soy sauce."
"Sugar."
The police officers were not fools and they sneered. Who would believe that all these were cooking ingredients? They knew of Lady Chi, Princess Chi and not chef Chi!!
