"Of course it hurts...." Zhilan responded.

Mei Mei pinched her before she could add something stupid and she cut in. "We know and we love you which is why we are willing to let you shatter our eardrums. Zhilan tried not snigger at that one.

"Also she has not showered since we left Sea city." Taiyuan pitched in.

Mei Mei frowned. "Oh honey, it’s time to shower. No wonder my pets are avoiding you. Now you are a beautiful woman and you will heal and find a new man. If I could survive a cheating husband that abused me emotionally, attempted to murder me and humiliated me in front of cameras while laying the blame for our marital problems at my feet, you can also survive an ordinary drama free heartbreak."

"Mmm." Meihua nodded. She raised her hand like an empress and spoke softly like a helpless princess. "Su mama, I need a bath."

Everyone rolled their eyes.

Mama Su was used to Meihua’s ways. She had spent a lot of time at the Jun ancestral home as a child. She helped Meihua up and escorted her upstairs. Along the way, she invited one of the servants to help Meihua with her bath.

Taiyuan scoffed, "We are twenty nine and miss I am such a spoiled princess still needs maids to help her take a bath, like an empress."

Mei Mei looked at her friends. "Stylish and comfortable. Meihua has obviously cried so much that her eyes have gone blind?"

"Miss Han, brunch or lunch?" Zhilan asked.

Han Xing replied mechanically, "Brunch is for weekends or those that have no need to be at work between11 to 1 mostly. It is for social leisure, not a necessity. Lunch is a necessity especially if one has been working according to the universally accepted work schedule of most employees."

Zhilan rolled her eyes. She was a brunch person as was everyone in their little group, including Mei Mei.

"If my boss is a brunch lover then I will of course adjust and follow accordingly." Han Xing added.

Taiyuan stepped in with what she considered a challenge. "If say, Mei Mei has a brunch planned with an investor and accidentally double-books a yoga class and shopping with her mother and a tv interview. What do you do?"

Han Xing blinked. "Cancel yoga, move the interview online. Brunch stays but it is moved up thirty minutes early and it saves her some minutes to go shopping with her mother after.

Brunch can also be moved to the same venue where shopping will be done and as her mother begins shopping, she takes her meeting and when it is finished, she joins her mother.

But, as Miss Jun’s mother is entrepreneurial mogul Lady Chi Lian, even if she joins the brunch meeting, the investors will gladly welcome her."

Zhilan leaned forward like she was about to ask the world’s hardest interview question. "If Mei Mei’s ex shows up here or at the office and harasses her. what would you do?"

"Thank you." Han Xing replied.

"You are hired." Mei Mei told her.

Zhilan clapped her hands excitedly as if the job was hers. "Great, now we can all take a look at the surprise I brought you."

She bent down and carried a medium sized translucent container, placing it onto the table. It was covered with a cloth so Mei Mei had no idea what was inside.

But, what she did know was that containers always like always came carrying pets!
