Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 239: Mo Liang sneaks into the space camp.
No matter what the law said, Mo Liang was determined to see his wife. She owed him an explanation on the rumors of their so called divorce. So, he disguised himself, hired a child actor to play the part of his son and went to the space camp. He did not want to draw attention to himself so he walked around with a brochure following a camp guide like a prospective parent interested in the camp’s summer programme.
He knew that Mei Mei’s office was on the top floor but he was also sure that he could not access it. So, he waited in the lounge near the entrance and every once in a while, paced around the elevators.
His behavior was very suspicious and one of the camp guides noted it down and alerted security to keep a close eye on him. The guide was worried that it was an irresponsible parent looking to dump their child in the camp. It was not unheard of for parents to abandon children in malls, play grounds and other places of business.
The camp guide found it suspicious that the father of the child was not giving him attention. They had been there for two hours and he had not yet bought a single snack for his child. And the sullen boy, he was just sipping water occasionally and looking at other children that were walking with snacks and toy space guns on their belts with envy.
Two security guards showed came out of the security room, said something to the guide and then grabbed Mo Liang’s arms.
As the guide led the child away for something to eat, Mo Liang’s mouth was covered and he was dragged into the nearest elevator.
Naturally, the scene drew the curiosity of the camp guests.
"Medical emergency." One of the security guards shouted.
With that, people went back to minding their business. Mo Liang was taken up straight to Mei Mei’s office and roughly shoved inside. One of the guards grabbed his shoulder and forced him on his knees and the other ripped off the very life like mask on his face and fake hair.
"Let me go." He bellowed.
"Call the police." Mei Mei told the security guards.
One of them stepped out to do that and the other let go of Mo Liang, following Mei Mei’s gesture. As he got to his feet, Mei Mei smiled smugly.
"You really are an idiot. You already received the restraining order and yet you still showed up here." She spun in her chair slowly, looking like a boss. Which she was.
Mo Liang smiled. "Jun Meilin, you are my wife. Cut this nonsense right now or I will be really angry with you." He sat down and crossed one his legs over the other. He also leaned back in the chair and spread his arms out like he owned the office and camp. "Come here, kneel down and apologize to me. Only then will I consider forgiving you."
Mei Mei laughed in ridicule. "Hey, idiot, did you leave your brain in space?"
Mo Liang’s eyes locked on hers and his jaw ticked. "Jun Meilin, If you keep insulting me, I will really divorce you."
Mei Mei looked around, searching for a camera that was taping the world’s most ridiculous show. She could not tell if they were still in reality or living in a a version of the matrix created by an alien with a single digit IQ. How as Mo Liang failing to grasp reality.
"Do you know what I was thinking when I was healing from my burn wounds after saving you in that fire?" He asked.
Mei Mei rolled her eyes. Here we go again with the fire and I am your savior gaslighting plot. "Do tell." She said sarcastically.
He drew in a breath. "That saving you was worth it. As long as you lived, you would remember me forever and place some flowers at my grave every year. I had saved the daughter of a wealthy family, she would surely burn paper money for me and I would never be poor in the underworld."
"Get to the end." She cut in.
He turned his head to her dressing in his usual aura of heroic manipulation. "Mei Mei, I saved your life. Have you no gratitude?"
"Oh I am grateful." She replied. "So grateful that I once ruined my entire life for you. Just because you saved me does mean that you own me. I paid back your life saving favor ten thousand times over but you chose to be ungrateful." She stood and walked around the desk. She stood in front of it, perching on the edge with one half of her butt. "You know what you are?" She pointed at him. "You are an emotional arsonist."
He laughed. "You have picked up some new vocabulary. That sounds like something your friend Chen Zhilan would say. I have warned you many times not to stay in contact with people like her. She is a crazy nut that is always talking about signs, karma and the universe. All of her decisions in life are based on what....."
"You have always been jealous of my friends and friendships." Mei Mei jumped in, sneering. "If they had accepted you. I bet you would not be saying this about them. They smelled your bullshit long before I did and kept you out of our circle for a reason."
"They are spoiled rich kids that looked down on poor people. There is nothing special about their segregation." He hissed at her.
Mei Mei wagged her finger. "No, that’s not it. We had and still have many friends and acquaintances that were on scholarships. It was just you. You are a cancer and you reek of shit. You drag everyone around you down." She spread her arms out and tilted her body back and forth slowly. "You always said that I could not live without you but look around, I am living. Not just living but thriving.
You that came from space screaming about divorce on the other hand, you don’t want to accept what you asked for. You started this and I simply finished it for you. Isn’t this what you wanted? Me to step aside and make room for Tang Yue and Mo Hao?" She asked sweetly.
He raised his hand and pointed her. His jaw was clenched and his eyes flashing with anger. Mei Mei laughed. The sound rang out like wind chimes caught in a storm--delicate but relentless.
"Oh, it must be killing you right now that I outsmarted you. You thought I would be meek and subservient, I would continue to live with you, drafting business plans and doing housework while you dined and wined with Tang Yue and raised your son like a prince. Instead I turned around and blew everything up and now you are scrambling to piece your life back together." She laughed again."
Mei Mei grabbed her phone from the table and took a picture of him. "Smile for me darling," she quipped. "The internet loves scumbags like you as much as it loves cute cat videos."
Mo Liang sat there, blinking like a man who’d just been hit by karma in a green suit.
