Kissed and Seduced By the Most Rough Man in the Village-Chapter 467: Can Our Factory Produce Energy-Saving Stoves?
"My daughter is designing something for the first time. Whether it succeeds or not is not important. What matters is that she had this idea. That’s already something to be proud of."
Mr. Su was a typical "daughter slave." Even in front of others, he made sure that Su Xiaoxiao’s reputation was upheld and never allowed anyone to belittle her in the slightest. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
The older workers, seeing him like this, simply smiled and began helping him select the usable steel plates. While the Steel Mill had plenty of steel, the large pieces couldn’t be used. They could only find the right size from the scrap steel plates and then start polishing them.
Although the energy-saving stove wasn’t particularly difficult to make, Mr. Su, who had been a leader for so long, felt somewhat out of his element in the process of doing the work himself. However, no matter how challenging it was, Mr. Su refused to ask for help.
After some trial and error, they finally finished the energy-saving stove around 4 p.m.
The workers, who had finished their tasks, gathered around to curiously observe Mr. Su’s creation.
"This is the energy-saving stove? It looks like a stove. Can it really warm a room better than a charcoal brazier?" They asked, one by one, filled with curiosity.
Mr. Su was also quite curious, so he waved his hand and said, "Since we’re all so curious, why don’t we give it a try?"
As soon as the suggestion was made, the workers immediately began lifting the energy-saving stove and carried it to Mr. Su’s office.
The adjacent office of the Party Secretary was of similar size. They noticed the thermometer on the wall, which marked the temperature as zero degrees. They set both the charcoal brazier and the energy-saving stove alight and waited.
After an hour, the temperature in Mr. Su’s office was noticeably higher than that in the Party Secretary’s office. They confirmed the temperatures of both rooms.
The Party Secretary’s office, using a regular charcoal brazier, was only at 4°C, while Mr. Su’s office, with the energy-saving stove, had reached 10°C.
"My god! It really works!" One of the older workers exclaimed in disbelief.
"We should check the charcoal inside and see if it uses less, as Factory Director Su’s daughter said," someone hurriedly suggested.
They moved both the charcoal brazier and the energy-saving stove out into the hallway and emptied the charcoal from both.
The amount of charcoal added was the same in both, but when they checked, they noticed that the energy-saving stove had almost a third more unburned charcoal left compared to the regular charcoal brazier.
"Factory Director Su, your daughter is really impressive!" One of the workers couldn’t help but praise.
"Where, she was just casually designing something. I didn’t expect it to have such good results," Mr. Su said with a smile that stretched ear to ear, his pride in his daughter evident in his voice.
But what parent wouldn’t want to boast about their child’s achievements?
"This is such a good product, and it’s not even available outside. Maybe we can make it ourselves and sell it?" Someone suddenly proposed.
The joking workers all fell silent and turned to look at the one who had made the suggestion.
Feeling a little nervous under their gaze, the person quickly explained, "What’s with all the looks? Don’t you see every factory is increasing production and diversifying products to increase revenue? Isn’t it normal for our Steel Mill to prioritize making something designed by Factory Director Su’s daughter?"
"But this energy-saving stove looks like something the Machinery Factory would make," someone muttered quietly.
Others immediately disagreed, "Why does it have to be the Machinery Factory? This energy-saving stove isn’t hard to make. As long as we can handle the sales, we can offer jobs to the families of the workers here. Welding, cutting plates—those are easy tasks. Adding a new workshop is no big deal. If we do it right, we could create five or six hundred jobs with two shifts!"
"Exactly! I just did the math. The steel needed for this product can be sourced from our own factory at the lowest price, which would cost between 6 to 8 yuan. The transportation and labor costs wouldn’t exceed 12 yuan. And a regular charcoal brazier sells for 15 yuan, so this would definitely sell for at least 25 yuan," someone else chimed in.
After doing the math, everyone felt that it was feasible, and they all turned their eager eyes toward Mr. Su.
Mr. Su, still basking in the joy of his daughter’s successful little invention, was momentarily stunned when they shifted the conversation to business. However, after a moment of contemplation, he began to think carefully.
The workers watched him in silence, eagerly waiting for him to speak. The anticipation in the air grew thick.
After what felt like a long pause, Mr. Su finally spoke, "I think we should give it a try. Tomorrow, I’ll make another energy-saving stove and take it to the city leaders to see what they think. If they think it’s viable, then I’ll talk to them about what you all suggested."
"Why don’t we just take this one? Making another one tomorrow will delay everything," someone suggested impatiently.
Mr. Su glared at him, "This is my daughter’s design. How could I just take it and use it myself? She spent all night drawing it because she was freezing. How could I just take it for myself?"
The workers, realizing his fatherly pride, couldn’t help but smile at Mr. Su’s firm stance on honoring his daughter’s work.
That evening, after Mr. Su returned home, he felt both proud and exhausted. He had spent the day helping his workers and dealing with the factory’s issues, but his thoughts still lingered on the energy-saving stove. His daughter’s design was not only clever but also practical, with results that exceeded expectations.
Meanwhile, Su Xiaoxiao, who had been asleep for much of the day, was still unaware of the excitement her idea had caused at the factory. It was only after she woke up that Mr. Su shared the news with her, making her feel both embarrassed and proud at the same time.
"Dad, you really took it to the factory?" she asked, her voice filled with surprise.
"Of course, I did. It’s your idea, and I’m proud of it. The factory might even start producing them," Mr. Su replied with a grin.
Su Xiaoxiao’s cheeks flushed with pride. It wasn’t the result she had expected when she had drawn up the design, but it was rewarding to see her idea taken seriously. "I never thought it would be such a big deal..."
"You’re my daughter. Anything you do is a big deal," Mr. Su replied warmly.
And just like that, Su Xiaoxiao’s humble little design became the talk of the factory, with the possibility of it being mass-produced—a testament to her creativity and the support of a proud father who believed in her every step of the way.
