Nuwa didn’t speak. When she arrived, she hadn’t thought that she needed to apologize to He Xi. She believed that her actions were always motivated, but if she hadn’t done anything wrong, where was this compensation coming from?

He Xi, while speaking, observed Nuwa carefully. "If you end up being with Chen, will you abandon me here?"
She had not intended to ask this question, thinking that the earlier unpleasantness when they first met was just her overthinking. But this question made Nuwa fully understand.

"I never thought your sweet talk could be so charming when I first met you," Nuwa teased. "But since you don’t have any other ideas about me now, can you put in a good word for me with Chen?"
