One after another, the flattery towards the Tathagata was lavished, with each comment more flattering than the last.
Yet the countenance of the Tathagata remained less than pleased; after all, to get Haotian to relent, he had parted with several magical treasures.
Though they weren’t particularly powerful treasures, even a tiny mosquito is still flesh, and these followers, aside from reaping the rewards, did nothing else but be a hindrance.
If it weren’t because they were all disciples brought over by the Two Saints, and he himself was in their debt, he would certainly have set each of them straight.
Is it done?! Maitreya’s heart leaped with joy.
He couldn’t help but pat his generous belly, now he would be able to truly enjoy himself.
"Now, we need someone to persuade the monkey. Who is willing to go?" Tathagata spoke again, he had merely visited Haotian.
After all, he, being the Buddha Ancestor, could hardly demean himself to such a task.
To visit the monkey? The brows of the Buddhas furrowed.
None of them felt any affection towards the monkey that had disturbed their chance to attend the banquet; they all held back from voicing their opinion.
Whoever loves going should go!
At these words, Maitreya couldn’t help but feel ecstatic; visiting the monkey was a tremendous opportunity!

"I will go!" Maitreya declared, lifting his arms high, eager to step forward.
Tathagata was slightly taken aback; his suggestion had been made rather offhand, as he was preparing to trouble Guanyin to make another trip on their behalf.
Guanyin, being in female form, also served as a representative when dealing with various powers on behalf of Buddhism.
However, unexpectedly, from the midst of the Buddhas emerged a stout bald head!
