Jobless Transmigration: I'm the only one who loves monsters.-Chapter 96: Listen to the little angel.
Chapter 96: Listen to the little angel.
" But why not?"
" Mommy once said that I-I’m a big girl now... Since I’m a big girl, I don’t want daddy feeding me."
" But you didn’t say anything back in the dinning hall–"
" That’s different." Emily raised a finger to stop him, her adorable face making the most serious look it could. " I couldn’t say that Infront of grandpa and grandma. If I did that, they’d never like me." She revealed her reasons.
" But–"
" No buts... If daddy fed me, it’d be too embarrassing." Emily shook her head strongly, breaking no room for arguement.
" Big sister Su already asked you a question before, why don’t you answer her while I eat on my own." Lucuis was caught of guard when the little one went as far as playfully pushing him away, her expression still as innocent as ever.
" Fine, Fine." Lucuis let out a helpless sigh, he lifted her up before setting her down on the bed with the food tray next to her.
He then offered Su a brief a glance. " Well it’s obvious I owe you an explanation, mind if we talked alone then?"
Su found the whole attempt of Emily pushing him away quite amusing, nevertheless, she still nodded in reply to his answer.
The both of them walked to a corner of the room, right next to one of the windows.
Lucuis walked towards the window, setting both hands on its ledge while staring out at the wonderful scenery before him.
" Where do I begin." He lamented uncomfortably.
" I’m sure you’re worried about her but please try to understand, I have no intentions of harming the little one in any way."
" I’d never think of such a thing young master." Su replied quickly.
Lucuis chuckled. " There’s no need to deny it. I wouldn’t be upset either way, quite the contrary, I’d be unhappy if you weren’t."
" The little one is quite the angel. It’s only natural for you to care about her so much."
" As for why I went ahead and did all this. Well, part of it has to do with the promise I made to her mother."
" You went to see Aunty Silvia?" Su muttered in confusion. " But when?" She asked cause she didn’t recall ever going with him to her store again.
" No need to rummage through your head, I simply returned there because I needed something from her, hence why I said the reason was partly due to the promise I made to her." Lucuis didn’t think that Su was the type to harbour any harmful thoughts to the little one so he continued on.
" In exchange of our in name marriage, I’d finally get the excuse I needed to keep away all those suitor’s... I know it’s been years since I came of age, but you can understand me when I say that I’m simply not interested in any of the women my family has been trying to match me up with lately, can’t you?"
" Young master, why I dare not speak ill of her lady’s wishes. I can at least say that it’s obvious marriage isn’t really in your prospects at the moment." Su said with a light smile.
Hearing her reply brought a smile to his face as well. " I always knew you would understand."
" On that note, it would also be troubling if anyone of them came looking for me at the academy, or even if they enrolled on grounds of such matters. I’d rather not have anyone doing something as foolishly risking their lives for my sake, also, since Silvia won’t be around for awhile, I thought it would be best to have the family protect little ol’ Emily in my stead."
" As my prospective daughter and eventual member of my household, I’m sure that level of security should at least suffice for Silvia’s standards. Plus, with you here, I’m more than reassured no harm would come to the little one. Although some might find my actions deplorable and seek to rectify it themselves. Can I trust you to do whatever it takes in my absence to look after the little one." Lucuis said with a stoic look on his face.
" If need arises, you can even use my name as you wish, so long as you’re able to keep her from harms way." Right now, Su wasn’t getting the feeling of gazing towards her new carefree and easy going young master, but of a man truly pleading for one to protect what they cherished.
Her young master was actually going so far to seek the help of a common maid like her. The mere thought of it left a strange feeling in her chest, to think he actually cared for the little one this much.
She believed that since the promise entailed looking after Emily, that he would’ve had her stay at the ground keepers home while having some servants look after her, never once did she think that he’d go to such lengths, using his own family standing to look after her, who was non other than a non human, a supernatural child most of his kind would have disdained or even attempted to hurt at a glance due to their racial differences.
" You need not beg me young master. I would gladly do so without being asked." A genuine, heartfelt smile bloomed on her feline face. Her eyes crinkling along their edges while a stray tear made its way down her eyelid.

" Your already done talking?" Emily’s beautiful adorable eyes widened momentarily when the both of them returned.
She then starred at the tray of food by her side and pouted. " But I haven’t even finished yet..." She mumbled beneath her breath.
Lucuis smiled a bit before taking a seat next to her. " Theres no need to be upset. It’s not like we’re all in a rush." He patted her head softly.
" Just enjoy yourself. As a big girl, shouldn’t you eat lots so you can grow big and healthy?" Emily’s expression turned blank before her innocent little eyes stared at him with intrigue.
" I’ll be here until your done so don’t you worry about a thing, alright?"
" Ok~" Emily nodded her head happily, her face sunny as ever once more.
