"I understand your feelings and concerns. To you, I am the man who forced you to leave your family. You came here looking for a safe place but I only made things difficult for you. Please forgive me for what I’ve done to you." Ethan spoke, asking again for the forgiveness that she already gave to him.

But he was looking for the kind of forgiveness that will release her heart from the conflicts and doubts.

Petal lowered her eyes, But then she looked at him again when she remembered something he said, Sitting up, She looked at him and said.

"Do you know who my father sent to kill you, That day?" She asked.

"No, We only received information that there’s going to be an attack, But why do you ask?" Ethan replied and questioned her, suspecting that she knew something.

"Because it was me, He thought that I would be able to kill you." Petal replied hoping that he will look at her differently now, Maybe go back to hating her.

Ethan chuckled seeing the look in her eyes. He knew what she just did, But he wouldn’t hate her because of this. It wasn’t her fault, She was innocent.

"I said earlier that dying in your hands will be easier for me than hating you." Ethan said as he pushed back the hair that was covering her face.

Petal was about to say something but a knock on the door interrupted her. Glancing at her watch, She noticed that it was dinner time and the maid had come to inform her.

Getting up from the bed, PetaI made her towards the door and opened it, making sure not to open it too much so the maid doesn’t see who’s inside.

"Good evening, Miss PetaI. There’s someone who came to see you. He said that his name is Jacob." They said,

Hearing this PetaI felt a tug in her heart and she didn’t know why, This was the moment she was waiting for, Wasn’t she? 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Dismissing the maid, Petal closed the door and turned to look at Ethan, who suddenly had a sad look In his eyes, And she wondered why.

"I need to go. " Petal said signaling.

Ethan nodded his head as he stood up and walked towards her, Cupping her face, He pressed his lips on her forehead letting his lips linger before he pulled away.

Petal looked up at him and for a second, She thought that she had seen tears in his eyes, But they disappeared.

"Whatever you hear, Know that..." Ethan stopped talking, realizing that his words won’t change anything.

She was about to find out the truth and the revenge circle will start again.

Petal stared at him confused, She wanted him to continue what he was saying but instead, he said.

"Go, You must have missed him." He said opening the door for her.

Petal took one Last look at him before she stepped out of the room, Heading downstairs.

Petal was happy and nervous. Finally, she saw Her mother and Jacob. She nervously held her hands together when she reached the end of the store. Walking towards the mansion entrance, She saw Lana speaking with Jacob before he turned to look at her with a warm smile on his lip.

Running towards him, PetaI threw herself in his arms and he warped his arms around her.

"I missed you." Jacob said that this is the first time Petal heard his voice.

Upstairs.

Alice and Issac were climbing the stairs when they saw Ethan coming out of Pet’s room, walking up to him, Issac said.

"Ethan, DO you know who is downstairs?" Issac asked and judging by the look on his face he knew.

"Hm." Ethan replied, making his way towards the stairs.

Alice and Issac exchanged a look of confusion.

"And you’re just going to let him tell her about what happened? At least let her hear the truth, ``You didn’t kill her Ethan." Alice said as she held onto her brother’s arm stopping him.

"It doesn’t matter now." Ethan said as he removed his sister’s hand and continued walking.

Alice was about to stop him but Issac stopped her.

"Alice, There’s no use now." Issac said to his sister pulling her into his arms when he saw her tears.

Downstairs.

Petal looked up at Jacob when she heard his voice, It was just like she imagined it, Warm and soothing.

"I can hear you now." PetaI said signaling.

"I know, Lana just told me, I’m sorry for not being there with you." Jacob patted her head.

Petal smiled at him. It felt good to have him around.

Looking around her Petal turned to him and asked.

"Where is Mom? Why didn’t she come with you?" She asked.

The mansion atmosphere turned cold at PetaI question, Jacob’s hands turned into fists as he stared at her remembering how he found her mother, Olivia, Laying on the ground drowned in her blood.

Not far away from PetaI, Ethan stood there with Issac and Alice standing behind him.
