It All Started With Hatred-Chapter 203: You look beautiful. Like every day
Two weeks later.
The doctor walked inside the room with the nurse following him behind. Opening the sleeping patient’s eye to examine it with the small flash pen in his hands he proceeded with the rest examination.
The nurse looked with the corner of her eyes at Ethan who was standing close. Watching them as they did their work. It was like this every day. Since she started working here. She learned that his bad-tempered person was better not to anger him.
Over the ten days, she stayed there taking care of this patient and watched how he took care of her. He only allowed the doctors to examine her and give the daily report. As for the medicine and her hygiene. He takes care of it personally. He doesn’t allow them to touch her. He changed the bandage off her surgery wounds personally. Two times a day. The nurse only takes care of her when he’s not here and he doesn’t go out for long.
Once they left. Held her hand In his bringing it to his lips kissing the back of it and lowered it gently on the bed again. "You look beautiful. Like every day." He spoke to her as she was awake. Hearing him.
Ethan reached to remove her bangs from her forehead. They had gotten longer reaching to her eyes. He noticed that her lips were dry. He reminded himself to buy her lips moisturizer. He didn’t want her to wake up and blame him for taking good care of her.
Taking out his phone. He ordered the lips moisturizers from her favorite cosmetics shop. Putting his phone away. He rolled up sleeves to start the morning routine. Lowering the blanket that was covering her. He reached for her sleeping dress and unbuttoned it one by one to clean her body. But first. He needs to change the bandage first.
Lucky. Her injuries weren’t deadly but serious. The fact her heart was still beating was a miracle alone. If the bullet had diverted just one inch to the left. Should have been dead by now. But thank the heavens. It didn’t happen.
By the next morning of the day that Petal was shot. The sniper who shot her was found and brought to the mansion and put in an underground room. Locked there and tortured until he confessed by who he was haired. The name he said shocked Ethan. All that time. He was receiving threats from his dear aunt Sofia. She was the one who paid the sniper to kill him but unfortunately. Petal took the shots instead of him.
No one knows who the person was. Ethan kept this information to himself for now. Petal health is more important now. Once her condition stabilizes. He will decide what’s best to do.
By the time Ethan finished wiping Petal’s body and changing her clothes. Combining her hair. Appling her favorite lotion on her skin. Face cream. The lip moisturizer that he ordered had arrived and was brought by one of the maids.
Opening the lid. He gently started to apply it on her lips. Make sure to not make any wrong moves. Once he was done. Ethan put moisturizer on the small table in the corner and went back to her. Taking the chair. He picked the book that he was reading for her last night. He had read research seeing that reading to a patient in a coma might help stimulate the brain.
Though Ethan was heartbroken by what happened. But he knew that he needed to be strong for her. She was in this state because of him.
Ethan read about ten pages of the book before he closed it. He read thirty pages to her three times a day. Once in the morning. Once in the afternoon and once at night.
Putting the book on the table. He stood up."I will go out for a while. Don’t worry. I will be here before you notice I’m gone." Ethan said to her, patting her head. He bent down and peaked her lips.
"Take care of her until I’m back." Ethan ordered the nurse before he left the underground hospital.
Reaching for the door. The bodyguards stepped aside for their boss to walk out of the door. The mansion is now surrounded by heavy protection. Guards and cameras were everywhere. There was almost no blind spot in the mansion and the underground hospital. Ethan wasn’t ready to risk losing someone else.
"Good morning." Ethan said to Jacob who was standing near the swimming pool. Petal’s favorite place in the mansion.
Jacob turned to look at Ethan. Shocked by how this man was standing on his own feet. But when you look closely into his eyes. You can see how distant and hollow his eyes were. "You used to hate me. What changed?" He asked lowering himself to pat the dog head who came to stand beside him.
"You’re an important person to Petal. Anyone important to her is important to me." Ethan replied looking down at Max who walked towards him. Looking up at him. The dog sensed the pain inside of him.
"I feel like throwing up now." Jacob said feeling digested by Ethan’s words but also surprised. That day he thought that everyone would blame him for what happened.
"Take the dogs to the Petal room. But don’t let them touch her." Ethan said before he left walking towards his car.
Jacob turned around signaling to the dogs to follow him. These five dogs were unbelievably faithful to Petal. He still remembers how they gathered around Petal on that disastrous night. Barking seeing her covered in blood. It took them three days to be restrained and the only one who could restrain them was Ethan.
"Sit." Jacob ordered the dogs.
Jacob walked to bed staring at the sleeping girl. She seemed as if she was in a peaceful sleep. Her face was calm and relaxed. One would think that she might wake up at any time. Only that this possibility was unknown.
