It All Started With Hatred-Chapter 172: A quiet place to stay in
Petal got inside the car without saying anything. She didn’t have the energy to even use her hands to signal. To avoid listening to his babble early in the morning. She turned off her ear devices and now she can’t hear anything. It was quite peaceful, she thought to herself. Do not listen to any voice. Her life became complicated since she started to listen. After all these years. She realized that not being able to listen is a grace that now appreciates.
Jacob sighed to himself as stared at Petal. He was talking to himself all the time and he didn’t notice that she wasn’t listening. It’s the first time he sees her like this. Not caring about letting her emotions out. She didn’t even cry. He admired how she confronted Ethan last night with confidence as if nothing affected her. As much as the situation was painful last night, it showed him how much Petal grew up and changed over the last year.
Maybe facing all of this will make her stronger. Now what he needs to do is to make sure that she doesn’t do anything stupid. Especially with that person called Noah coming back. He will be like a buzzing bee around her.
Reaching to the school. Petal opened the car and got down herself, not giving Jacob the chance to see anything. She didn’t want to deal with anyone, not today. Entering the school. Petal walked straight towards the practicing hall.
Taking a deep breath. Petal tried to focus on the teacher’s instructions. She didn’t want to mess this up and ruin all these months of practicing. The best way for her to get over and forget what happened is to achieve her goal. That will help her. She was sure of it.
After six hours of nonstop practicing. Petal was exhausted. Not physically but mentally. She was trying so hard all the time during the practice not to think about what happened last night. The things he said and how he easily confessed and denied anything.
All this time she was his plaything. He took advantage of her body and soul. Filling her mind with nothing but him. His voice, the way he speaks to her, the way he touches and caresses her body. All of this was so she won’t figure out his scam. How far she was. She offered him herself on a golden plate without letting her guard down believing that he was in love with her.
She didn’t understand how his acting was flawless all this time. He was so good, so damn perfect that she fell for him head over heels. She wondered if he didn’t even have a little bit of feeling towards her. But why did he look at her like this every time their eyes met? Why did he touch her with such gentleness and care every time he made love to her? Why did he care about pleasuring her when it was all a game?
Because it will hurt more when she discovers the truth. Yes. That was the answer. Because it will make me feel humiliated as she does feel right now. It will make her weak, hopeless. Well, she should be applauding him for succeeding in his mission of destroying her and wiping the floor clean with her dignity.
Perfect Job Ethan Wilson. A perfect job that she will make sure to return the favor the best way she could. Painful and blood full one.
This morning she had thought thoroughly about what happened. How she will recover and stand on her feet and most importantly. How she will take her revenge. She thought about everything thoroughly and had already put her plan into action. By the end of next year. She will make Ethan Wilson the laughingstock of the underground society. When that happens. She will finally be healed from the deep wound that he made inside her and her broken heart might be healed.
"I didn’t think that you would visit me so soon." Ben said as he walked towards Petal who suddenly arrived at his doorstep.
Petal smiled and walked towards him before he even reached her. " I needed a quiet place to spend the night. Will you let me?" She asked him to sign.
Ben noticed the dry treats on her cheeks. She was crying but she didn’t want to show it. Something must have happened. He pretended to not notice that. She seemed to be tired and needed rest.
Ben smiled as he patted her head."Of course. You’re welcome at any time. It would make me happy." He said, guiding her inside the house.
"Let’s have dinner first. I’m glad that Santos boy isn’t with you." Ben said as walked towards the living room.
At the mansion of his name. A sad look appeared on Petal’s face but she quickly brushed it away and smiled weakly.
"Please let me." Ben said, pulling the chair for her.
Petal sat down and Ben took the seat across from her. Soon the dinner was served and Petal forced herself to eat. She hadn’t eaten anything this morning but she wasn’t feeling hungry.
"Is the food delicious?" Ben asked, watching her play with her food.
After dinner. Petal told Ben to show her room. She was exhausted from everything and needed to close her eyes hoping to stop thinking.
"If you need anything. I’m in the top floor room. The same room above you." Ben said before he left the room.
Removing her ear devices. She opened her bag and took out the medicine bottle taking a pill from it before she swallowed it with the water. Removing her shoes. She laid on the bed not bothering to even change her clothes.
At dawn. Petal woke up shaking and her body drenched in a cold sweat. Sitting up on the bed. She reached to touch her cheeks that were covered with tears. She was crying in her sleep. She had a nightmare but she doesn’t remember it well.
